once again trades at exuberant levels.

The recent offering could not only kill the ongoing stock momentum but also postpone the company’s bankruptcy at the same time.

In the long term, Bed Bath & Beyond is likely to nevertheless file for bankruptcy.

Bruce Bennett

Bed Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ:BBBY) has become another meme stock since the company is on the verge of bankruptcy with no real way to improve the business and yet its shares managed to appreciate by over 300% inthe last month as retail traders made one last ditch effort to squeeze short sellers. However, after the company announced a new stock offering right after the market closed on Monday, there's a possibility that the momentum is going to be short-lived due to the major dilution that comes with such an offering. Even if the offering is going to be fully completed it's still hard to imagine how the business would avoid bankruptcy due to the number of challenges that it faces.

Bed Bath & Beyond's Stock Price (Seeking Alpha)

The Story So Far

Problems at Bed Bath & Beyond begana long time ago and only accumulated in recent months. In the latest Q3 earnings report for the quarter that ended on November 30, which was released with the delay this January, the company revealed that its sales have declined by 33% Y/Y to $1.26 billion while its net loss stood at $393 million against a net loss of $276 million a year ago. On top of that, the company's cash reserves decreased from $509 million a year ago to only $154 million at the end of November 2022. While its total liquidity at the end of November was around $500 million thanks to the FILO loan and the Asset Based Lending facility, Bed Bath & Beyond is still unlikely to execute a turnaround due to close to $2 billion in long-term debt, lack of inventory and negative cash flow from operations.

As such, talks about the liquidity crunch began to take place in recent months since there was a risk that the company will fail to honor its obligations due to the lack of resources. At the beginning of January, Bloomberg reported that the company is looking for lenders that would be able to finance it during the bankruptcy proceedings. After failing to find anyone meaningful, the management noted two weeks ago that it doesn't have the resources to repay the amounts needed under its credit facilities which led to receiving a default notice from JPMorgan (JPM).

Last Wednesday, Bed Bath & Beyond failed to pay ~$28 million in interest payments on its long-term debt and as a result, entered a 30-day grace period as it was preparing to seek bankruptcy protection. However, an unexpected event has occurred which could prevent the company from announcing bankruptcy in the following days.

Meme Traders Strike Back

While everyone was expecting the bankruptcy filing to come out at any time, Bed Bath & Beyond's stock once again managed to appreciate to exuberant levels on Monday rising from around $3.11 per share at the opening to as high as $7 per share at one time and closing close to $6 per share at the end of the trading session.

All of this was possible thanks to the inflow of retail traders who began to acquire the stock en masse which led to a short squeeze similar to the one that happened last August when the share price appreciated from ~$6 per share to ~$23 per share in a matter of a couple of weeks before depreciating. It's easy to explain such interest to this particular stock. Back in August, there was a 103% short interest in Bed Bath & Beyond stock which attracted retail traders who managed to make a quick profit by squeezing the short sellers who were overexposed to the stock. Now there's a similar thing happening but the only different thing is that thecurrentshort interest in Bed Bath & Beyond stock is 46%.

However, in addition to the relatively high short interest, the comeback of crypto coupled with dovish remarks of the Fed chairman Jerome Powell who began to talk about the beginning of the disinflationary process made it possible for the stock of the insolvent business such as Bed Bath & Beyond to nevertheless reach exuberant levels.

The problem though is that if back in August the block sale of shares by a famous investor Ryan Cohen led to the overall depreciation of Bed Bath & Beyond shares then now it's the actions of the company's management itself that could kill the ongoing momentum.

Right after the market closed on Monday, the company released a new filing in which it announced the issuance of Series A convertible preferred stock s and warrants to raise over $1 billion. There's no guarantee that it will be able to raise the full amount but by giving the ability to sell those assets at attractive prices it could nevertheless find buyers. At the same time, the company noted that it plans to use the proceeds from this offering to repay the missed interest payment on its senior notes by March 3 which should technically help it to exit the grace period and at the very least postpone its bankruptcy.

The problem with this offering is that it extremely dilutes its current shareholders which could kill the overall momentum that the company's stock had so far. As the recent filing noted:

The issuance of the securities in this offering will significantly dilute the ownership interest of the existing holders of our common stock, and the market price of our common stock will likely decline significantly as a result of sales of such securities into the public market by investors in this offering and subsequent investors or the perception that such sales may occur.

What's Next?

The fact that Bed Bath & Beyond stock is likely to be extremely diluted doesn't mean that there's no possibility that it won't appreciate further. In the past, companies like AMC (AMC) have been diluting their shareholders to repay their debts and it didn't stop the stock from further appreciating before finally depreciating as the macro environment changed.

Considering that Bed Bath & Beyond has become a battleground stock as well, I won't take off the possibility of a further appreciation as underestimating the market's stupidity is one of the biggest mistakes one can make.

However, over the longer term, it's safe to assume that the company would nevertheless go under. Even if the management manages to fully get the needed amount from the offering, the proceeds would nevertheless go to repay the existing debt which would leave little liquidity to transform the business. However, after the company announced a new stock offering right after the market closed on Monday, there's a possibility that the momentum is going to be short-lived due to the major dilution that comes with such an offering. Even if the offering is going to be fully completed it's still hard to imagine how the business would avoid bankruptcy due to the number of challenges that it faces.Bed Bath & Beyond's Stock Price (Seeking Alpha)The Story So FarProblems at Bed Bath & Beyond begana long time ago and only accumulated in recent months. After failing to find anyone meaningful, the management noted two weeks ago that it doesn't have the resources to repay the amounts needed under its credit facilities which led to receiving a default notice from JPMorgan (JPM).Last Wednesday, Bed Bath & Beyond failed to pay ~$28 million in interest payments on its long-term debt and as a result, entered a 30-day grace period as it was preparing to seek bankruptcy protection. However, an unexpected event has occurred which could prevent the company from announcing bankruptcy in the following days.Meme Traders Strike BackWhile everyone was expecting the bankruptcy filing to come out at any time, Bed Bath & Beyond's stock once again managed to appreciate to exuberant levels on Monday rising from around $3.11 per share at the opening to as high as $7 per share at one time and closing close to $6 per share at the end of the trading session. Now there's a similar thing happening but the only different thing is that thecurrentshort interest in Bed Bath & Beyond stock is 46%.However, in addition to the relatively high short interest, the comeback of crypto coupled with dovish remarks of the Fed chairman Jerome Powell who began to talk about the beginning of the disinflationary process made it possible for the stock of the insolvent business such as Bed Bath & Beyond to nevertheless reach exuberant levels. The problem though is that if back in August the block sale of shares by a famous investor Ryan Cohen led to the overall depreciation of Bed Bath & Beyond shares then now it's the actions of the company's management itself that could kill the ongoing momentum.Right after the market closed on Monday, the company released a new filing in which it announced the issuance of Series A convertible preferred stock s and warrants to raise over $1 billion. As the recent filing noted:The issuance of the securities in this offering will significantly dilute the ownership interest of the existing holders of our common stock, and the market price of our common stock will likely decline significantly as a result of sales of such securities into the public market by investors in this offering and subsequent investors or the perception that such sales may occur. What's Next? The fact that Bed Bath & Beyond stock is likely to be extremely diluted doesn't mean that there's no possibility that it won't appreciate further. In the past, companies like AMC (AMC) have been diluting their shareholders to repay their debts and it didn't stop the stock from further appreciating before finally depreciating as the macro environment changed.Considering that Bed Bath & Beyond has become a battleground stock as well, I won't take off the possibility of a further appreciation as underestimating the market's stupidity is one of the biggest mistakes one can make. However, over the longer term, it's safe to assume that the company would nevertheless go under. Even if the management manages to fully get the needed amount from the offering, the proceeds would nevertheless go to repay the existing debt which would leave little liquidity to transform the business. Considering that Q1 has historically been the worst quarter for the business, it's hard to imagine how the management would be able to improve the situation given the disastrous performance in the past.At the same time, at the current cash burn rate the company would likely be required to raise additional funds along the way which could lead to an additional dilution and a lack of returns for average investors as the risks of bankruptcy won't subside as well. As the management has noted in the latest filing:Trading in our securities is highly speculative, and we may be required to file for bankruptcy protection even if the Transactions are fully consummated. Therefore, I decided to avoid the stock whatsoever as the new offering has the potential to kill the ongoing momentum while the potential bankruptcy would more than likely lead to a full loss of the investment as common shareholders are unlikely to receive anything during the bankruptcy procedure. This article is written by Bohdan Kucheriavyi for reference only. Season","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1191968759","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"These three earnings reports are among the most important for investors to pay attention to.Apple(AA","content":"

These three earnings reports are among the most important for investors to pay attention to.

Apple(AAPL): All eyes will be on the company’s iPhone 14 sales.

Amazon(AMZN): About 63% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

Exxon Mobil(XOM): Oil giant in prime position to give more money back to shareholders.

Much like the first half of the year, the second half started out just as rough. However, there are still top stocks to watch. As inflation remains stubbornly high, consumers are struggling. Nearly63% of Americans are now living paycheck to paycheck. Thus, there are clear recession fears brewing. This is based mainly on the fear that the Federal Reserve may be getting far too aggressive with interest rate hikes. That said, there are expectations the Fed may be backing off of its aggressive stance, as to avoid pushing the economy over the edge.

The world is still dealing with the Russia-Ukraine war. TheInternational Monetary Fundis warning of a global recession. Chinaimposed lockdownsto fight the coronavirus. In short, the world is dealing with a slow-motion train wreck that could get worse before it gets better.

Earnings season is also under way. While top stocks to watch, such as Coca-Cola(NYSE:KO), Visa(NYSE:V), Chipotle(NYSE:CMG), General Electric(NYSE:GE), General Motors(NYSE:GM) and dozens more beat earnings, some big names such as Microsoft(NASDAQ:MSFT) dipped on its cloud growth miss and weak guidance. Even Alphabet(NASDAQ:GOOGL) just slipped on a disappointing earnings report.

We’ll also get earnings from these market-moving heavyweights, too.

Apple (AAPL)

One of the top stocks to watch is Apple(NASDAQ:AAPL), which will post its fourth quarter earnings on Oct. 27. In this report, all eyes will be on its iPhone 14 sales.

Investors want to see if the latest release is on pace for a solid growth cycle, or if global macro issues have started to weigh down demand. At the moment, the Street is looking for earnings per share of $1.27 on sales of $88.79 million.

Deutsche Bank(NYSE:DB) analyst Sidney Ho expects Apple earnings to be in line with expectations. In addition, as noted byTheFly.com, “Ho thinks [Apple’s] slower growth is already anticipated by the market, especially given recent media reports suggesting Apple is cutting iPhone orders and the stock pulling back 20% from the August peak. He also believes the company’s ‘strong balance sheet will shine in the current environment,’ supporting its dividend payments and share repurchases totaling $100B annually.”

Morgan Stanley(NYSE:MS) analyst Eric Woodring sees Q4 revenue of $90.1 billion, and December quarter revenue of $133.7 billion. Both would be above analyst expectations. The analyst also says Apple is his top pick, reiterating an overweight rating, with a price target of $177.

After plummeting from $175 to $135, it appears most of the market’s negativity has been priced in. Unless something shocking is uncovered in the earnings report, I’d like to see the Apple stock challenge prior resistance around $162.50.

Amazon (AMZN)

Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) will also release earnings on Oct. 27, and is another one of the top stocks to watch. The Street expects the company to earn 22 cents per share on sales of $127.57 billion, as compared to earnings per share of 31 cents on sales of $110.81 billion year over year. There are also concerns that falling consumer demand could have a negative impact on the report, as well. Not helping matters, we have to remember that 63% of Americans are currently living paycheck to paycheck.

Indeed, many retailers, including Amazon have had to deal with inventory issues. That would explain why Amazon held a second Prime Day shopping event this year. “The good news is the consumer is still spending,”D.A. Davidson analyst Tom Forte told MarketWatch. “The bad news is they’re not spending on e-commerce.”

We should also note Amazon took a hit earlier this week on Microsoft’s cloud news. As reported byMarketWatch.com, Microsoft’s “Azure grew 35%, a marked slowdown from growth of 40% the previous quarter and 50% a year ago, and forecasts suggests it could fall toward 30% this quarter while overall revenue guidance misses Wall Street’s expectations by more than $2 billion.” Those cloud-growth concerns quickly spread to AMZN shares earlier this week.

There’s also plenty of news around the idea that Amazon is trying to tighten its operational spending. The company already said it would slow corporate hiring in retail. It also slowed down on opening new warehouses and distribution centers with the economy the way it is. We also have to consider that consumers are likely to tighten their belts this holiday season, with sky-high inflation.

Exxon Mobil (XOM)

Exxon Mobil(NYSE:XOM) will post Q3 2022 earnings on Oct. 28. With the recent wild ride higher in the energy sector, companies like Exxon are generating record free cash flows, says analysts atTipRanks.com.They added, “Based on where oil and gas prices hovered during Q3, consensus earnings-per-share estimates point toward $3.81, implying a massive ~141% increase compared to last year, though slightly lower quarter-over-quarter as commodity prices did ease sequentially. Still, Q3 should be a massive quarter for Exxon.”

The company is also in a prime position to give more money back to shareholders. Exxon already increased its dividend to $15 billion, or $3.52 a share, which could rise further in the coming quarters. In addition, Exxon Mobil said its operating profit could come in around $11 billion from $6.7 billion year over year. Analysts also expect Exxon to pump out earnings per share of $3.80 on sales of $104.6 billion.

While that all sounds like great news, I do have to point out that XOM is technically overbought on RSI, MACD, and Williams’ %R. I’d wait to buy XOM stock on future pullbacks.

","source":"investorplace","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
The 3 Hottest Stocks to Watch This Earnings Season
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nThe 3 Hottest Stocks to Watch This Earnings Season\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-10-27 11:55 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
These three earnings reports are among the most important for investors to pay attention to.Apple(AAPL): All eyes will be on the company’s iPhone 14 sales.Amazon(AMZN): About 63% of Americans are ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"AMZN":"亚马逊","AAPL":"苹果","XOM":"埃克森美孚"},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/2022/10/the-3-hottest-stocks-to-watch-this-earnings-season/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1191968759","content_text":"These three earnings reports are among the most important for investors to pay attention to.Apple(AAPL): All eyes will be on the company’s iPhone 14 sales.Amazon(AMZN): About 63% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.Exxon Mobil(XOM): Oil giant in prime position to give more money back to shareholders.Much like the first half of the year, the second half started out just as rough. The move showed that the central bank is deadly serious about taking on the stubbornly high inflation that has been plaguing the economy since the middle of 2021.The Fed’s turn toward an aggressive anti-inflationary policy may not be hard enough, however, as the September data, released this morning, showed the headline consumer price index (CPI) at an annualized rate of 8.2%, slightly lower than August’s 8.3%, but slightly higher than the 8.1% which had been forecast. There’s no good news here, and we should expect the Fed to take further aggressive rate hiking action at the next FOMC meeting on November 1 and 2.After the data release, the 2-year Treasury bond yield jumped by 16 basis points and hit 4.45%, and the 10-year note once again moved above 4%. These moves portend a shift by investors from stocks toward bonds, to lock in higher yields. For investors still intent on sticking with stocks, the logical move is find a defensive play that will provide some protection against inflation. Dividend stocks, especially the high-yield payers, are the ‘standard’ move in the defensive playbook, and we’ve used the TipRanks data to look up two that offer yields high enough to give some insulation against inflation. And even better, they both have a ‘Strong Buy’ consensus rating from the wider analyst community. Let’s take a closer look.Alpine Income Property Trust (PINE)The first high-yield div payer we’ll look at is Alpine Income Property Trust, a commercial net lease REIT with a focus on retail properties. Alpine’s portfolio is composed of open-air strip malls and stand-alone retail locations, spread across 35 states. The company is headquartered in Florida, where it has 4 properties; the state with the largest number of Alpine properties is Texas, with 25, while Ohio and New York tie for second place, each with 12 properties.Alpine has a total of 143 properties in its portfolio, a combined 3.3 million square feet of leasable space. The company boasts, justifiably, that it has a 100% occupancy rate. Revenues and earnings have been strong over the past two years, with consistent sequential gains at the top line.Alpine saw revenues of $11.3 million in 2Q22, the last quarter reported. Earnings spiked in that quarter, to $14.3 million, after coming in at just $304K one year earlier. Alpine had a diluted EPS of $1.05 in 2Q22. Of particular interest to dividend investors, Alpine reported an adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) of $0.47 for 2Q, a 20% increase year-over-year, and more than enough to fully cover the regular stock dividend. That dividend deserved a closer look. The most recent declaration, made in August, was for 27.5 cents per common share, a modest bump of 1.9% from the previous quarter – but the sixth dividend increase in the past three years. Alpine’s current common share dividend annualizes to $1.10 and gives a yield of 7%, more than triple the average dividend yield in the broader markets, and high enough to be useful as insulation against current inflation. In the eyes of Raymond James analyst RJ Milligan, who holds a 5-star ranking from TipRanks, all of this adds up to a company in a very solid position.“Investors continue to build positions in more defensive sectors (including net-lease) given concerns about a coming recession, which has helped drive the net lease sector’s YTD outperformance despite spiking rates and high inflation. We expect PINE will continue to benefit from this rotation given its high quality portfolio, discounted valuation, and well-covered dividend,” Milligan opined.Following from this upbeat stance, Milligan rates PINE shares an Outperform (i.e. Buy), and his price target of $23 implies a one-year upside potential of 44%.While this commercial REIT has only picked up 5 recent analyst reviews, those were all positive, testifying to PINE’s underlying strength and attractive qualities – and giving the stock a unanimous Strong Buy consensus rating. The shares are selling for $15.87 and their average price target of $21.25 indicates a potential gain of 33% in the next 12 months.CTO Realty Growth (CTO)Let’s stick with REITs, a sector known for its dividend champs. CTO Realty Growth is another commercial REIT with income-generating shopping mall and retail investments in 9 states. CTO has 6 properties in its home state of Florida, and 3 each in Georgia and Texas. The bulk of CTO’s assets are in the coastal Southeast or the Southwest, but the company does have a 15% ownership interest in Alpine, the stock discussed above. In recent weeks, CTO has announced two important developments that have enhanced the company’s liquidity. First was the September 21 notice that the firm had expanded its credit facility to $565 million, and that was followed on September 26 by the announcement that the company had sold off three properties in Jacksonville, Florida for a total of $34.9 million.Earlier in the summer, CTO reported its results for 2Q22, with fund from operations (FFO) coming in at $1.41 per share for the quarter, up 60% year-over-year, and adjusted FFO growing 38% to reach $1.48 per common share. These results were more than enough to support the dividend, which was declared for Q3 on August 22 and paid out on September 30. The Q3 dividend was raised by a modest 1.8% and paid out at 38 cents per common share. The dividend’s annualized rate of $1.52 gives a yield of 8.6%, which is higher than current inflation numbers and ensures a real rate of return for investors.AnalystRobert Stevenson, watching this stock for investment firm Janney Montgomery, is unabashedly bullish on CTO. He says of the company, “Our continued positive view on the stock is based on the company’s assets, high dividend yield, and ability to continue to grow earnings and dividends for shareholders… CTO is one of our favorite yield names within our REIT coverage universe.”Factoring in a discounted valuation and attractive growth potential, Stevenson rates CTO a Buy, along with a price target of $25. If his price target is achieved, investors could realize a potential total return of ~44%There are 4 recent analyst reviews on file for CTO and they are unanimously positive, to give the stock its Strong Buy analyst consensus rating. The shares are priced at $17.54 and their $25 average target matches Stevenson’s 42% upside forecast.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":15,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9054011953,"gmtCreate":1655332174872,"gmtModify":1676535612941,"author":{"id":"3569545284218891","authorId":"3569545284218891","name":"Hksg","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/98dbbf2b9d7688bf6318177b2a76d776","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$roaring","listText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$roaring","text":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$roaring","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/c28c18671c65581c3b2bee70f5920721","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9054011953","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":27,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":886605835,"gmtCreate":1631583496927,"gmtModify":1676530581580,"author":{"id":"3569545284218891","authorId":"3569545284218891","name":"Hksg","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/98dbbf2b9d7688bf6318177b2a76d776","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$ASCENDAS REAL ESTATE INV TRUST(A17U.SI)$very safe play","listText":"$ASCENDAS REAL ESTATE INV TRUST(A17U.SI)$very safe play","text":"$ASCENDAS REAL ESTATE INV TRUST(A17U.SI)$very safe play","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/11f0c159c0e19f401deb66d447b6a22b","width":"1080","height":"2429"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/886605835","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":66,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9935273318,"gmtCreate":1663111907835,"gmtModify":1676537203832,"author":{"id":"3569545284218891","authorId":"3569545284218891","name":"Hksg","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/98dbbf2b9d7688bf6318177b2a76d776","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"good share","listText":"good share","text":"good share","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9935273318","repostId":"1150110459","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1150110459","pubTimestamp":1663110393,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1150110459?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-09-14 07:06","market":"us","language":"en","title":"\"They Should Do 100\": Wall Street Debates the Fed’s Next Rate Move","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150110459","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"‘Markets would hate it’ versus ‘the market might rally’100-point basis move would ‘reinforce credibi","content":"

‘Markets would hate it’ versus ‘the market might rally’

100-point basis move would ‘reinforce credibility’: Summers

Tuesday’s unexpectedly hot inflation reading virtually assured markets that the Federal Reserve will raise rates by 75 basis points next week. It took less than 17 months for the index to double from its trough, which is pretty incredible when you consider that the average annual total return, including dividends, for the S&P 500 is closer to 11% since the beginning of 1980.

Despite these big gains, select analysts and investment banks see a lot more upside for a small group of hypergrowth companies (those delivering jaw-dropping sales growth). If Wall Street's loftiest price targets for the following three fast-paced stocks prove accurate, they could soar 216% to 257% in 2022.

Coinbase Global: Implied upside of 216%

The first hypergrowth stock with immense upside this year is cryptocurrency exchange and ecosystem Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN). Analyst Lisa Ellis of MoffettNathanson holds the high-water price target for Coinbase on Wall Street at $600. Should it reach this lofty figure, shareholders would realize a 216% return on their investment, based on where shares ended on Monday, Jan. 31.

If investors take a close look at Coinbase's operating performance, they're going to like what they see. As of the end of the third quarter, the number of monthly transacting users had more than tripled from the prior-year period to 7.4 million, with assets on the platform surging to $255 billion from $36 billion, year-over-year. Likewise, the company probably delivered more than $3 billion in net income in 2021.

A number of Wall Street analysts are clearly excited about the long-term prospects of the "Big Two" in crypto, Bitcoin and Ethereum, which account for a significant portion of Coinbase's exchange-based trading revenue. They're also intrigued about the company's ventures beyond crypto exchanges, such as setting up a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace for users. NFTs are the proof of ownership of digital assets stored on blockchain.

Although cryptocurrencies have handily outperformed the stock market on an aggregate basis over the past couple of years, there's also a lot of risk that comes with such a lofty price target. For example, competition among crypto exchanges is heating up, not slowing down. Among traditional stock brokerages, commission wars eventually led to the elimination of these fees. It seemingly wouldn't be difficult for other crypto exchanges to undercut Coinbase's fees.

Another concern is that the company is almost entirely reliant on external factors instead of innovation to grow. With much of its growth reliant on the performance of Bitcoin and Ethereum, price weakness from the Big Two, or even a loss of interest from the investing community, could threaten to send revenue and profits markedly lower. It happened in 2018, and history suggests it could happen again.

In other words, I wouldn't expect Coinbase to get anywhere near $600 in 2022.

Plug Power: Implied upside of 257%

Another hypergrowth stock with the potential to skyrocket this year, at least according to one Wall Street analyst, is hydrogen fuel-cell solutions provider Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG). Amit Dayal of H.C. Wainwright has Plug hitting a price target of $78, which implies up to 257% upside from where shares closed out January.

You could certainly say that Plug Power finds itself in the right place, at the right time. Most countries are looking for ways to reduce carbon emissions and promote green-energy solutions. This means Plug's hydrogen fuel-cell solutions for vehicles and individual machines (like forklifts), as well as its hydrogen infrastructure hubs, should be in high demand for many years to come.

What's really validated the potential for this company is the handful of major partnerships and joint ventures that have been struck since the beginning of 2021. For instance, SK Group took a 10% equity stake in the company in February 2021, with the duo forming a joint venture that'll focus on putting hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles on the road in numerous Asian markets. Around this time, Plug also formed a joint venture with French automaker Renault, known as Hyvia. Hyvia's goal is to go after 30% of the light commercial vehicle market in Europe.

Growth expectations for the company have been nothing short of phenomenal. In 2020, Plug Power brought in $337 million in revenue. By 2024, management has forecast $1.7 billion in annual gross billings. This year alone, Wall Street anticipates sales growth will exceed 80%.

Although this might sound like a slam-dunk investment, investors should also consider that Plug Power isn't yet profitable, and none of the 21 Wall Street analysts covering the company expect it to reach profitability in 2022. In an environment where interest rates are set to rise, unprofitable growth stocks often see their valuation multiples contract. While the technology and partnerships are intriguing, Plug Power has a lot to prove if it's ever going to hit $78 a share.

Fiverr International: Implied upside of 216%

A third hypergrowth stock with serious upside potential is online services marketplace Fiverr International (NYSE:FVRR). Though Wall Street's price targets have fluctuated wildly over the past year, the high-water estimate currently calls for Fiverr to hit $270. Should this lofty prognostication come to fruition, it would match Coinbase with a 216% gain.

To some extent, Fiverr's appeal comes from being in the right place when the coronavirus pandemic hit. It's a platform that connects freelancers with buyers of their services, and the market for remote workers exploded in the wake of the pandemic. With inflation also soaring, we're witnessing a hybrid-work environment where remote workers have incredible wage-pricing power.

However, Fiverr's persistently high sales growth rate is about more than just the pandemic. It's about providing a differentiated platform. Whereas competing online marketplaces push freelancers to price their services per hour, Fiverr's freelancers are pricing their services as a package deal. This leads to improved price transparency for buyers, and it's helped pushed Fiverr's take rate (what it gets to keep from arranging these deals on its platform) to levels that are well above its competition.

Fiverr is interested in targeting larger businesses with its marketplace, too. The launch of subscription-based Fiverr Business in September 2020 provides bigger companies with project management and collaborative tools that help them use freelancers effectively.

The big concern with Fiverr, similar to Plug Power, is the prospect of rising interest rates and the multiple contraction that typically accompanies a hawkish Federal Reserve. It took less than 17 months for the index to double from its trough, which is pretty incredible when you consider that the average annual total return, including dividends, for the S&P 500 is closer to 11% since the beginning of 1980.Despite these big gains, select analysts and investment banks see a lot more upside for a small group of hypergrowth companies (those delivering jaw-dropping sales growth). If Wall Street's loftiest price targets for the following three fast-paced stocks prove accurate, they could soar 216% to 257% in 2022.Coinbase Global: Implied upside of 216%The first hypergrowth stock with immense upside this year is cryptocurrency exchange and ecosystem Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN). Analyst Lisa Ellis of MoffettNathanson holds the high-water price target for Coinbase on Wall Street at $600. Should it reach this lofty figure, shareholders would realize a 216% return on their investment, based on where shares ended on Monday, Jan. 31.If investors take a close look at Coinbase's operating performance, they're going to like what they see. As of the end of the third quarter, the number of monthly transacting users had more than tripled from the prior-year period to 7.4 million, with assets on the platform surging to $255 billion from $36 billion, year-over-year. Likewise, the company probably delivered more than $3 billion in net income in 2021.A number of Wall Street analysts are clearly excited about the long-term prospects of the \"Big Two\" in crypto, Bitcoin and Ethereum, which account for a significant portion of Coinbase's exchange-based trading revenue. They're also intrigued about the company's ventures beyond crypto exchanges, such as setting up a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace for users. NFTs are the proof of ownership of digital assets stored on blockchain.Although cryptocurrencies have handily outperformed the stock market on an aggregate basis over the past couple of years, there's also a lot of risk that comes with such a lofty price target. For example, competition among crypto exchanges is heating up, not slowing down. Among traditional stock brokerages, commission wars eventually led to the elimination of these fees. It seemingly wouldn't be difficult for other crypto exchanges to undercut Coinbase's fees.Another concern is that the company is almost entirely reliant on external factors instead of innovation to grow. With much of its growth reliant on the performance of Bitcoin and Ethereum, price weakness from the Big Two, or even a loss of interest from the investing community, could threaten to send revenue and profits markedly lower. It happened in 2018, and history suggests it could happen again. In other words, I wouldn't expect Coinbase to get anywhere near $600 in 2022.Plug Power: Implied upside of 257%Another hypergrowth stock with the potential to skyrocket this year, at least according to one Wall Street analyst, is hydrogen fuel-cell solutions provider Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG). Hyvia's goal is to go after 30% of the light commercial vehicle market in Europe.Growth expectations for the company have been nothing short of phenomenal. In 2020, Plug Power brought in $337 million in revenue. By 2024, management has forecast $1.7 billion in annual gross billings. This year alone, Wall Street anticipates sales growth will exceed 80%.Although this might sound like a slam-dunk investment, investors should also consider that Plug Power isn't yet profitable, and none of the 21 Wall Street analysts covering the company expect it to reach profitability in 2022. In an environment where interest rates are set to rise, unprofitable growth stocks often see their valuation multiples contract. While the technology and partnerships are intriguing, Plug Power has a lot to prove if it's ever going to hit $78 a share.Fiverr International: Implied upside of 216%A third hypergrowth stock with serious upside potential is online services marketplace Fiverr International (NYSE:FVRR). Though Wall Street's price targets have fluctuated wildly over the past year, the high-water estimate currently calls for Fiverr to hit $270. Should this lofty prognostication come to fruition, it would match Coinbase with a 216% gain.To some extent, Fiverr's appeal comes from being in the right place when the coronavirus pandemic hit. This leads to improved price transparency for buyers, and it's helped pushed Fiverr's take rate (what it gets to keep from arranging these deals on its platform) to levels that are well above its competition.Fiverr is interested in targeting larger businesses with its marketplace, too. Wall Street's earnings forecast for 2022 is all over the place, with a consensus profit of $0.47 per share on the heels of 26% sales growth. Even with shares 75% below their all-time high, this works out to a price-to-earnings ratio of 182 and places the company at roughly 8 times projected sales.Admittedly, this is far less expensive than where it was nearly a year ago, with shares hitting $336 on an intra-day basis. But even its current $85 share price could be deemed pricey given the uncertainty associated with the pandemic and the future of the hybrid-work environment.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":317,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9093761276,"gmtCreate":1643712635494,"gmtModify":1676533847283,"author":{"id":"3569545284218891","authorId":"3569545284218891","name":"Hksg","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/98dbbf2b9d7688bf6318177b2a76d776","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"go up","listText":"go up","text":"go up","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9093761276","repostId":"1161265904","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1161265904","pubTimestamp":1643712103,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1161265904?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-02-01 18:41","market":"fut","language":"en","title":"U.S. Futures Trade Lower While Global Stocks Rally","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1161265904","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"(Bloomberg) -- Global stocks extended a rally as Federal Reserve officials cautioned against disrupt","content":"

(Bloomberg) -- Global stocks extended a rally as Federal Reserve officials cautioned against disruptive policy tightening and U.S. companies signaled another strong earnings season. While almost impossible, we suppose the massively popular soccer team may add some advertising and marketing value to the company, especially in the Apple TV segment. However, due to the potential cash burn and the odd timing coinciding with World Cup excitement, it is unlikely that the rumor is true. We'll see, since Daily Star has also speculated Amazon (AMZN) and Meta (META) as prospective buyers.

On the other hand, we do not expect lingering issues from the Foxconn riot. Notably, iPhone 12 was released in October 2020 at a time when global economies were shut down and China under lockdown. And yet, AAPL and Foxconn went above and beyond in delivering 100M units by H1'21. Though the Zhengzhou plant was previously responsible for four in five iPhone production and assembly, we expect these deliveries to still be completed, albeit delayed with much controversy.

Moving forward, Foxconn is already diversifying its production locations to Vietnam and Thailand, with the factory in India already producing additional iPhone 14 models since early November. Though the iPhone 14 Pro model is still limited to the Chinese factory, we expect things to change in the short term, since the factory in India is reportedly close to achieving parity with China's capacity. Therefore, safeguarding AAPL's top and bottom lines ahead, no matter the temporal headwinds.

Even Mr. Market remains optimistic about AAPL's forward execution, since the stock continues to trade above its 50-day moving average, significantly aided by the upbeat October CPI reports. Assuming that 75.8% of analysts are right that the Feds truly pivot earlier by December, we may see another wave of optimism lifting most boats up then. One word of caution though, it is uncertain if this recovery will be sustainable through 2023, as the Feds may also raise terminal rates to over 6%.

AAPL's Performance Continue To Defy The Bears

AAPL Revenue, Net Income ( in billion $ ) %, EBIT %, and EPS

S&P Capital IQ

In its latest earnings call, AAPL reported excellent YoY expansion in gross margins from 41.8% in FY2021 to 43.3% in FY2022, indicating its excellent pricing power despite the rising inflationary pressures. The company also recorded exemplary EBIT and net income margins of 27.6% and 23% in FQ4'22, respectively, representing excellent command of operating expenses over the past three years. This is impressive, despite the elevated stock-based compensation of $9.03B in FY2022, against $7.9B in FY2021 and $6.06B in FY2019.
