This stock still has a long way to drop!

Tesla's broad-based sales are declining for the first time in two years.

The U.S. Treasury yield curve implies that contractionary monetary policies could wane on durable goods.

Tesla is overvalued and exhibits unfavorable beta sensitivity.

Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA) surprised the market with its June preliminary deliveries report, which unveiled a 1.42x month-over-month increase in Chinese regional sales. Regionally, the electric vehicle giant sold more than 78,000 vehicles last month, a 1.35x year-over-year increase. Many investors are likely to jump on a recovery play as the companyâs sales recovery could be misinterpreted for early-stage momentum. However, itâs necessary to recognize that Teslaâs China sales could be a temporary uptick as regional political risk remains elevated. In addition, TSLA stock has significant valuation issues, causing the current market environment to act unkindly toward it. Moreover, Teslaâs beta sensitivity means that it could be one of the major losers if a bear market persists.

Generally speaking, I believe TSLA stock is overhyped and set for further declines. Letâs dive deeper into it!

Teslaâs Prospective Sales

Investors shouldnât be overwhelmed by TSLAâs latest China sales surge. Much of the sales have to do with the supply-side, where factories were allowed to produce again after certain pandemic restrictions were lifted. As such, sales proliferated. Additionally, Chinese pandemic lockdown policies have been inconsistent, to say the least. Thus, the question beckons whether Teslaâs China sales are sustainable in the long haul.

Furthermore, Teslaâs broad-based sales are taking a dip. The firmâs second-quarter sales report conveyed a decline in quarterly sales for the first time in two years. Tesla produced 258,000 vehicles in the quarter and delivered 254,659, reconciling to a 17.9% year-over-year decrease. Although much of the firmâs receding sales figure was down to production constraints, thereâs much reason to believe that the economic climate is taking its toll on consumers.

I want to elaborate on the economy and what it means for TSLA stock. The U.S. Treasury Yield Curve implies that interest rates could settle above the 3% level before declining again. This means that the leading consumer economy in the world will be subject to contractionary monetary policies, which could see global consumer spending power wane. Moreover, the contraction of economic growth will likely affect the automotive industry as durable goods sales negatively correlate with rising interest rates. As such, Tesla could see its five-year compound annual growth rate of 48.72% retrace to a growth trend more stationary to gross domestic product growth soon.

Price Level Concerns With TSLA Stock

Using relative valuation metrics to assess growth stocks usually isnât prudent. Nonetheless, whenever a bear market appears, it is probable that risk-averse investors will sell their overvalued assets first. TSLA stock is trading at11.29xits sales, 52.32x its cash flow, and 77.09x its earnings. Thus, it is safe to say that weâre looking at an overvalued stock here.

Additionally, TSLA stockâs high beta status could coalesce with its poor valuation metrics to cause a tremendous drawdown. Teslaâs beta coefficient of 2.13 means that it exhibits excess sensitivity to the broader market, which is exactly what you do not want in a bear market.

So, all matters considered, I think TSLA stock is a strong sell!

","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Teslaâs China Sales Increase Provides Little Substance
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTeslaâs China Sales Increase Provides Little Substance\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-07-10 12:02 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Don't letTesla's(NASDAQ:TSLA) latest China sales report fool you. Letâs dive deeper into it!Teslaâs Prospective SalesInvestors shouldnât be overwhelmed by TSLAâs latest China sales surge. Much of the sales have to do with the supply-side, where factories were allowed to produce again after certain pandemic restrictions were lifted. As such, sales proliferated. Additionally, Chinese pandemic lockdown policies have been inconsistent, to say the least. Thus, the question beckons whether Teslaâs China sales are sustainable in the long haul.Furthermore, Teslaâs broad-based sales are taking a dip. The firmâs second-quarter sales report conveyed a decline in quarterly sales for the first time in two years. Tesla produced 258,000 vehicles in the quarter and delivered 254,659, reconciling to a 17.9% year-over-year decrease. Although much of the firmâs receding sales figure was down to production constraints, thereâs much reason to believe that the economic climate is taking its toll on consumers.I want to elaborate on the economy and what it means for TSLA stock. As such, Tesla could see its five-year compound annual growth rate of 48.72% retrace to a growth trend more stationary to gross domestic product growth soon.Price Level Concerns With TSLA StockUsing relative valuation metrics to assess growth stocks usually isnât prudent. Nonetheless, whenever a bear market appears, it is probable that risk-averse investors will sell their overvalued assets first. TSLA stock is trading at11.29xits sales, 52.32x its cash flow, and 77.09x its earnings. Thus, it is safe to say that weâre looking at an overvalued stock here.Additionally, TSLA stockâs high beta status could coalesce with its poor valuation metrics to cause a tremendous drawdown. Teslaâs beta coefficient of 2.13 means that it exhibits excess sensitivity to the broader market, which is exactly what you do not want in a bear market. So, all matters considered, I think TSLA stock is a strong sell!","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":279,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9042457689,"gmtCreate":1656516893541,"gmtModify":1676535844396,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Replying to @Celinejp:oo//@Celinejp:Ok","listText":"Replying to @Celinejp:oo//@Celinejp:Ok","text":"Replying to @Celinejp:oo//@Celinejp:Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9042457689","repostId":"683491737","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":683491737,"gmtCreate":1656455147030,"gmtModify":1676533277504,"author":{"id":"3479274819487659","authorId":"3479274819487659","name":"The Finance Hydra","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/a242a9be28de8ea5e320d9cee36651ca","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"\n \n \n TESLA STOCK PREDICTIONS - TSLA needs to BREAK THIS PRICE LEVEL this week!TESLA STOCK PREDICTIONS - TSLA needs to BREAK THIS PRICE LEVEL this week! It would avoid outright selling of Tesla shares.Tesla stock might also be down, because the idea that richest man in the world buying one of the largest social media platforms on the planet is hard for investors to fathom.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":389,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9037163182,"gmtCreate":1648050727846,"gmtModify":1676534297849,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"oo//@ashethen:Jk","listText":"oo//@ashethen:Jk","text":"oo//@ashethen:Jk","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9037163182","repostId":"2221037062","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2221037062","pubTimestamp":1648049400,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2221037062?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-03-23 23:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Cathie Wood Goes Bargain Hunting: 3 Stocks She Just Bought","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2221037062","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"There are always stocks to buy if you're Ark Invest's ace stock picker.","content":"

Cathie Wood did an interesting thing last week as stocks were rallying. The CEO, co-founder, and ace stock picker for the Ark Invest family of exchange-traded funds (Pacer Swan SOS Fund of Funds ETF|ETFs) stood pat on her buying urges. She lightened a few positions last week, but she failed to execute a buy order in any of the final three trading days of last week.

The streak ended on Monday. Shopify, Twilio, and Adaptive Biotechnologies are the three stocks that Ark Invest bought. What does Wood see in these three fast-growing companies? Let's take a closer look.

Shopify

It's been a rough few months for Shopify investors. The fast-growing e-commerce specialist has seen its stock plunge more than 60% since peaking in November. Shopify stock came back to life with last week's market rally in growth stocks, but a 12% slide on Monday to kick off this new trading week shows that shareholders are still looking to take profits following sharp upticks.

Revenue growth is slowing at Shopify. Its top line surged 86% in 2020, slowing to a 57% pace in 2021. Growth has decelerated sharply the last three quarters. Shopify itself was vague about its guidance, but analysts are holding out for a 31% increase in 2022. Shopify continues to stand out for its ability to arm merchants of all sizes with the tools to establish an online presence that plays nice with most popular e-commerce and social media platforms.

Twilio

There is a lot to like about Twilio, the undisputed leader of in-app communication solutions. Twilio's cloud-based tools help many of the most popular apps be more effective by providing two-way communication with users -- for everything from service notifications to verification -- without having to leave an app.

It's growing briskly. Revenue rose 61% in 2021, including a 54% year-over-year uptick for its latest quarter. Acquisitions have helped pad Twilio's growth over the years. Organic revenue rose a more modest 44% clip last year if you back out the bump in political election season revenue from late 2020, but the appeal of the platform remains strong. Retention rates are still healthy, and Twilio continues to successfully expand its offerings.

Adaptive Biotechnologies

It's been a rough year for Adaptive Biotechnologies. Its CFO resigned in January, and earlier this month the biotech upstart announced that it would be laying off 12% of its staff. The reorganization is part of Adaptive narrowing the focus of its immune system genetic sequencing technology to key in on minimal residual disease and immune medicine.

The stock has been cut by more than half so far in 2022, and it's down 82% since peaking 14 months ago. The technology is promising, and Adaptive Biotechnologies is one of the stocks that Wood was buying earlier last week before she took a three-day break from purchases. Analysts don't see the company turning a profit for several more years, but that's not necessarily a deal breaker for biotech stocks as long as they have the liquidity in place to hold out for a medical breakthrough.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Cathie Wood Goes Bargain Hunting: 3 Stocks She Just Bought
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nCathie Wood Goes Bargain Hunting: 3 Stocks She Just Bought\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-03-23 23:30 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Cathie Wood did an interesting thing last week as stocks were rallying. In the interest rate hiking cycle expected this year \"positioning was very crowded on the long side\" going into the earnings season. For consumer stock weakness, James pointed to \"clearly disappointing\" retail sales, which dropped 1.9% last month due to shortages of goods and an explosion of COVID-19 infections.Separate data showed soaring inflation hit U.S. consumer sentiment in January, pushing it to its second lowest level in a decade.Retail sales and bank loan growth raised doubts about the economic outlook for the current quarter and 2022 for Keith Buchanan, portfolio manager at Globalt in Atlanta.\"The question is, does the economy have enough strength to get through the risk Omicron brings as fiscal and monetary stimulus is rolling off,\" Buchanan said.According to preliminary data, the S&P 500 gained 2.89 points, or 0.06%, to end at 4,661.92 points, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 81.98 points, or 0.55%, to 14,889.73. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 208.43 points, or 0.58%, to 35,905.19.Analysts see S&P 500 companies earnings rising 23.1% in the fourth quarter, according to IBES data from Refinitiv. One bright spot in the bank sector on Friday however was Wells Fargo & Co, which gained ground after posting a bigger-than-expected rise in fourth-quarter profit.Casino operators Las Vegas Sands, Melco Resorts and Wynn Resorts rallied after Macau's government capped the number of new casino operators allowed to operate to six for a period of 10 years.U.S. stock markets will remain shut on Monday for This, however, seems to be changing as restrictions continue to get eased and the economy further reopens.
\n
Although the road to recovery is long and tough, the process seems to have started as millions of Americans appear a bit confident with the vaccination drive in full swing. The CDC has also revised its travel guidelines. Although people need to wear masks while flying, those who are fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 in the past three months, no longer need to get tested or self-quarantine upon traveling.
\n
The past few weeks have already seen airlines getting busier as more people are booking tickets and traveling. Thatâs not great, especially for a stock trading today around $10..
\n
With that in mind, letâs rewind a bit. Back in mid-January, AMC stock was trading at around $2.
\n
Then the Reddit crowd pounced on it, and the share price quickly rocketed to a 52-week high of $20.36.
\n
Sensible minds advised caution at that time, but their warnings often fell upon deaf ears. Small position sizes should be the rule, not the exception.
\n
Sorry, Not a Winner
\n
If you only look at the marketâs reaction to AMCâs first-quarter data release, you might assume that it was a winning quarter in terms of earnings.
\n
However, thatâs not the case. As it turns out, AMC reported a first-quarter loss of $567.2 million, which translates to $1.42 a share. Analysts, on average, were expecting the company to lose $1.31 per share.
\n
So, that was a âmissâ for AMC. The quarterly revenues were also a âmissâ as the company reported $148.3 million, versus the analystsâ average forecast of $156.3 million in revenues.
\n
To use percentages instead of dollar amounts, AMCâs first-quarter revenuesfell by a whopping 84.3%on a year-over-year basis. Furthermore, the company sustained an 88.8% decline in attendance due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
\n
Quoting Churchill?
\n
Under normal circumstances, the foregoing stats should induce a share-price decline. Again, recall the -$15.60 per share trailing 12-month earnings I cited earlier.
\n
I donât know about you, but I wasnât too pleased with the CEO quoting Winston Churchill during the conference call:
\n
\n ââThis is not the end. But then, weâd be hard-pressed to find evidence that these are ânormalâ circumstances.\nPossibly, the market reacted positively to Aronâs statement during the conference call that âour market share in the United States has soared, increasing by about 25% compared to prepandemic levels.â\nThatâs impressive, but for me, the revenues are the top line and the earnings are the bottom line.\nItâs fine to see butts in seats, but an investor should want to see dollars in hand. Again, recall the -$15.60 per share trailing 12-month earnings I cited earlier.\nI donât know about you, but I wasnât too pleased with the CEO quoting Winston Churchill during the conference call:\n\n ââThis is not the end. It not even the beginning of the end. But it is perhaps the end of the beginning.â⊠âSir Winston won his titanic fight. I believe that AMC will win our war too.â\n\nI wonât dare say that Aron is arrogant, or that heâs starting to lose his mind. The pandemic has been hard on all of us, so Iâll give him a pass, this time.\nThe Bottom Line\nChurchill quote gaffe aside, Iâm having trouble developing a solid bull thesis in favor of AMC stock.\nTherefore, my recommendation is to grab some popcorn, ease the seat back, and enjoy the presentation as a spectator.\nOn the date of publication, David Moadel did not have (either directly or indirectly) any positions in the securities mentioned in this article.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":15,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":329733193,"gmtCreate":1615278921912,"gmtModify":1704780480645,"author":{"id":"3572401971897760","authorId":"3572401971897760","name":"Eileena","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/42d6aa9db75086eec89c4393abd90c98","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hmm","listText":"Hmm","text":"Hmm","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/329733193","repostId":"1183729076","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1183729076","pubTimestamp":1615278840,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1183729076?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-09 16:34","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Airbnb, Lyft and Other Stocks Set to Benefit From a Consumer Spending Boom","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1183729076","media":"Barrons","summary":"The strongest consumer stock backdrop in decades may be around the corner and there are plenty of st","content":"
The strongest consumer stock backdrop in decades may be around the corner and there are plenty of stocks well positioned to benefit, according to Jefferies analysts.
\n
A surge in personal income, alongside the reopening of the economy will âunleash substantial pent-up demandâ in service sector consumption, said chief economist Aneta Markowska in a note on Sunday.
