The auto parts sector also tends to do well in recessionary climates.

Finally, the stock trades at a price-to-sales ratio of 0.6 and just 13 times adjusted EBITDA, making it cheap for a stock with its growth potential.

If the company can continue growing the top and bottom lines, CarParts.com should be a winner from here.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
2 Stocks Down 55% and 71% to Buy Right Now
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n2 Stocks Down 55% and 71% to Buy Right Now\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2023-03-02 23:31 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The stock market got off to a solid start in 2023, with the S&P 500 up nearly 4% (after being up as much as 9% early last month).Even with the good start, many individual stocks are still deep in bear...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"MMM":"3M","PRTS":"CarParts"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2023/03/01/stocks-down-to-buy-right-now-3m-carparts/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2316618792","content_text":"The stock market got off to a solid start in 2023, with the S&P 500 up nearly 4% (after being up as much as 9% early last month).Even with the good start, many individual stocks are still deep in bear market territory, and the Federal Reserve continues to telegraph its intention to keep raising interest rates, which seems even likelier after strong January employment and retail sales reports and a hotter-than-expected personal consumption expenditures reading, which is the Fed's favorite inflation gauge. The good news is that the pressure from rising interest rates and the prospects of a recession are making a lot of quality stocks cheap. He explained that YouTube creators will soon be able to virtually swap outfits in videos or create “fantastical film settings” through AI’s generative capabilities “in the coming months.”

Alphabet Inc.-owned Google is under increasing pressure to release generative AI products — services that can generate detailed text answers or create brand-new images based on information they’ve ingested from the internet and other digital sources. Though Google has long been seen as a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence research, some critics have said the company has been too slow to roll out its own tools and services that are ready for public consumption. He explained that YouTube creators will soon be able to virtually swap outfits in videos or create “fantastical film settings” through AI’s generative capabilities “in the coming months.”Alphabet Inc.-owned Google is under increasing pressure to release generative AI products — services that can generate detailed text answers or create brand-new images based on information they’ve ingested from the internet and other digital sources. Though Google has long been seen as a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence research, some critics have said the company has been too slow to roll out its own tools and services that are ready for public consumption. The deal marked the birth of the first ever billion-dollar company. More than a century later, in August 2018, technology giant Apple became the first company to surpass a market valuation of $1 trillion. Today, the trillion-dollar club also includes Microsoft and Alphabet.

Steel dominated the business world in the early 1900s, and software and computers dominate the business world today. But what's in the cards for the future? And more importantly, how can investors benefit? What follows are three stocks that could be the next members of the trillion-dollar club. Investors might want to consider buying in before they get there.

1. Nvidia: Leading the artificial intelligence arms race

Nvidia (NVDA -1.21%) is best known for producing some of the most advanced semiconductors (computer chips) in the world, but its future is set to be driven by something with far more potential: artificial intelligence (AI).

The capabilities of AI are already stunning the tech world thanks to language model chatbots like ChatGPT, which is trained using Nvidia's powerful chips. The semiconductor giant could be at the center of the AI revolution. Nvidia has developed a suite of AI applications in addition to building the world's most advanced AI supercomputers, and millions of businesses can soon access their capabilities through popular cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.

It could make Nvidia the most widely distributed provider of AI tools on the planet.

Ark Investment Management, which is led by noted tech investor Cathie Wood, recently issued a bold prediction for the AI industry. It says AI could add a whopping $200 trillion to the global economy by 2030 by substantially boosting the productivity of knowledge workers -- as much as tenfold for the average computer programmer, for example.

Nvidia has generated $26.9 billion in revenue over the last four quarters and currently has a market valuation of $578 billion. If it captures even a fraction of the potential the AI industry has to offer over the next decade, Nvidia's valuation could easily rocket past the $1 trillion mark.

2. Tesla: A diversified bet on the future

When it comes to the potential to create value for investors, Tesla (TSLA -0.93%) has more irons in the fire than most companies. It's no stranger to the trillion-dollar club because it joined it briefly in 2021, but the recent sell-off in the tech sector has sent its stock price down 51% from its all-time high.

But its sliding stock price isn't necessarily reflective of what's going on with the company. Tesla delivered a record 1.3 million electric vehicles (EVs) to customers in 2022 and brought in an all-time high $81 billion in revenue. While EVs are core to Tesla's business right now, investors are keenly observing other segments that could grow substantially in the near future.

Self-driving software is one of them, which is powered by AI and machine learning. Tesla is a leader in this field and it intends to release a fully autonomous robotaxi in 2024. That forms part of the basis for Ark Invest's lofty $1,533 price target for Tesla stock, which represents 678% upside from where it trades today. Ark has also issued a prediction for the autonomous ride-hailing industry, which suggests it could be a $14 trillion opportunity as soon as 2027.

Speaking of 2027, that's the possible release year for Tesla's humanoid robot, Optimus, which could change the workforce forever by automating low-skill jobs. The company anticipates it could sell millions of units per year with a price tag of $20,000.

Tesla has outlined plans to produce 20 million cars per year by 2030, meaning greater than tenfold growth between now and then in its core business.

Realizing the potential of any one of the aforementioned businesses is plenty to see Tesla reclaim a $1 trillion valuation. But combined, getting there could be a breeze in the medium to long term.

3. Meta Platforms: The metaverse could deliver big returns

Meta Platforms (META 3.19%) is another former member of the trillion-dollar club. It entered in 2021 before the tech sell-off dealt a 55% blow to its stock price from its all-time high. Meta is the parent company of popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, though it shifted its focus to developing the metaverse over the last few years, much to the disappointment of investors.

A global economic slowdown is hurting Meta's core advertising business across Facebook and Instagram. Meanwhile, the company is plowing billions of dollars into its Reality Labs (metaverse) segment despite it generating a mere pittance in terms of revenue. Reality Labs' total loss for 2022 came in at an eye-popping $13.7 billion.

But Meta quashed some concerns by laying off 11,000 employees in November last year and committing to cost cuts to help rejuvenate its earnings. It's also focusing on adding new features to Instagram to keep users engaged, including Notes and Candid Stories. That's on top of its recent success with Reels, its short-form video feature developed to compete with ByteDance's TikTok.

The fourth quarter of 2022 brought welcome relief for investors as the improvements boosted Meta's revenue to the highest quarterly level for the year. The deal marked the birth of the first ever billion-dollar company. More than a century later, in August 2018, technology giant Apple became the first company to surpass a market valuation of $1 trillion. Today, the trillion-dollar club also includes Microsoft and Alphabet.Steel dominated the business world in the early 1900s, and software and computers dominate the business world today. But what's in the cards for the future? And more importantly, how can investors benefit? What follows are three stocks that could be the next members of the trillion-dollar club. Investors might want to consider buying in before they get there.1. Nvidia: Leading the artificial intelligence arms raceNvidia (NVDA -1.21%) is best known for producing some of the most advanced semiconductors (computer chips) in the world, but its future is set to be driven by something with far more potential: artificial intelligence (AI).The capabilities of AI are already stunning the tech world thanks to language model chatbots like ChatGPT, which is trained using Nvidia's powerful chips. It could make Nvidia the most widely distributed provider of AI tools on the planet.Ark Investment Management, which is led by noted tech investor Cathie Wood, recently issued a bold prediction for the AI industry. It says AI could add a whopping $200 trillion to the global economy by 2030 by substantially boosting the productivity of knowledge workers -- as much as tenfold for the average computer programmer, for example.Nvidia has generated $26.9 billion in revenue over the last four quarters and currently has a market valuation of $578 billion. If it captures even a fraction of the potential the AI industry has to offer over the next decade, Nvidia's valuation could easily rocket past the $1 trillion mark.2. Tesla: A diversified bet on the futureWhen it comes to the potential to create value for investors, Tesla (TSLA -0.93%) has more irons in the fire than most companies. While EVs are core to Tesla's business right now, investors are keenly observing other segments that could grow substantially in the near future.Self-driving software is one of them, which is powered by AI and machine learning. Tesla is a leader in this field and it intends to release a fully autonomous robotaxi in 2024. That forms part of the basis for Ark Invest's lofty $1,533 price target for Tesla stock, which represents 678% upside from where it trades today. Ark has also issued a prediction for the autonomous ride-hailing industry, which suggests it could be a $14 trillion opportunity as soon as 2027.Speaking of 2027, that's the possible release year for Tesla's humanoid robot, Optimus, which could change the workforce forever by automating low-skill jobs. The company anticipates it could sell millions of units per year with a price tag of $20,000.Tesla has outlined plans to produce 20 million cars per year by 2030, meaning greater than tenfold growth between now and then in its core business.Realizing the potential of any one of the aforementioned businesses is plenty to see Tesla reclaim a $1 trillion valuation. But combined, getting there could be a breeze in the medium to long term.3. Meta Platforms: The metaverse could deliver big returnsMeta Platforms (META 3.19%) is another former member of the trillion-dollar club. It entered in 2021 before the tech sell-off dealt a 55% blow to its stock price from its all-time high. Meta is the parent company of popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, though it shifted its focus to developing the metaverse over the last few years, much to the disappointment of investors.A global economic slowdown is hurting Meta's core advertising business across Facebook and Instagram. That's on top of its recent success with Reels, its short-form video feature developed to compete with ByteDance's TikTok.The fourth quarter of 2022 brought welcome relief for investors as the improvements boosted Meta's revenue to the highest quarterly level for the year. Plus, its net income jumped sequentially after three straight quarters of declines. A continued bounce-back in Meta's ad business could be enough to inch the company closer to reclaiming a $1 trillion valuation. But investors shouldn't discount the metaverse, despite the recent pessimism. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg thinks the company's virtual world could eventually attract 1 billion users who would each spend hundreds of dollars on virtual goods and services. Further, an estimate by Bloomberg Intelligence suggests it could be a $1.6 trillion opportunity by 2030.Since Meta is committing so many resources on both the software and hardware side, it's likely to lead the way. If virtual reality truly is the next frontier of social and professional connections, then Meta Platforms should have no trouble rejoining Apple, Microsoft, and Alphabet in the trillion-dollar club.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":551,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9955686902,"gmtCreate":1675388944906,"gmtModify":1676538998582,"author":{"id":"3582339314142654","authorId":"3582339314142654","name":"LTTan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ff4cfb8a35f162085843e3c2d42871a9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3582339314142654","idStr":"3582339314142654"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Share your opinion about this news…","listText":"Share your opinion about this news…","text":"Share your opinion about this news…","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9955686902","repostId":"2308204745","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2308204745","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1675353408,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2308204745?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-02-02 23:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Are These 3 Companies Next for Short Squeezes?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2308204745","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"More than half of the outstanding shares for these stocks are sold short.","content":"

People love fast action; it's human nature. Bed Bath & Beyond

Well-known home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond has fallen on hard times. Cryptocurrency institutions, including the now-bankrupt FTX exchange, would deposit interest-free funds into Silvergate, which would turn around and invest the deposits into bonds to make money on interest.

But banking is essentially a confidence play, and collapsing exchanges have plagued the cryptocurrency space as fearful investors have pulled their funds. Silvergate's deposits dried up overnight, causing significant losses in the fourth quarter. Low interest rates made debt cheap, which Carvana used to grow its business. However, the company hasn't been able to turn a profit, and now rising rates and slumping used car prices are creating an uphill battle for the company.

Carvana may have to raise new capital by issuing shares given the company's $7.4 billion in long-term debt and dwindling cash pile of just $316 million. But given the stock's remaining high short interest, there could be more volatility ahead. Investors would likely be severely diluted if the company issued shares to raise funds, which would only further play into the hands of short sellers. Hence, the stock remains very risky despite its recent momentum.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Are These 3 Companies Next for Short Squeezes?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAre These 3 Companies Next for Short Squeezes?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2023-02-02 23:56 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
People love fast action; it's human nature. Please take note of the trading arrangements during the holiday period and make the necessary preparations in advance.

What is Juneteenth and why is it a holiday?

People gather at a Juneteenth rally in 2020 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Juneteenth, a portmanteau of June 19, is a holiday that honors the last enslaved Black people in Texas learning they were free.

On June 19, 1865, federal troops marched on Galveston, Texas, to take control of the state. Even though the Civil War had been over for two months, slavery remained in Texas.

Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Texas and famously read General Orders No. 3, which stated, “The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free.”

That day came two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on Jan. 1, 1863. Not all states immediately ended slavery when Lincoln signed the order during the Civil War.

While other dates — such as the Confederate Army’s surrender in the Civil War, the ratification of the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery, or the day Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation — could similarly be viewed as the “end” of slavery in the U.S., Juneteenth is the day most people associate with its conclusion.

Congress moved to establish Juneteenth as a federal holiday in June 2021, and the holiday went into effect immediately. The bill, signed into law by President Biden, designated the date as Juneteenth National Independence Day.

June 19 this year falls on a Sunday, so most federal employees will get Monday, June 20 off. Some private companies last year also made Juneteenth a paid holiday for employees.

Congress had not added a federal holiday since Martin Luther King Day in 1983.

Juneteenth celebrations may include religious services, educational events, family gatherings and festivals. Nevertheless, all three companies are still growing and are poised for a rebound in 2022 and beyond. Here's why.

1. Anaplan: Using machine learning to make better organizational decisions

Connected resource planning is more important than ever these days. Between the rapid adoption of cloud-computing software and ongoing business disruption from the pandemic, organizations are in need of software that can help them make intelligent decisions and plan for the future.

That's where enterprise resource planning firm Anaplan comes in. The company's platform uses machine learning software that can be deployed throughout a company's operations to help teams make more accurate decisions and allocate resources to the right place. Software like this took a back seat in 2020, as many of Anaplan's customers were in damage-control mode, but sales have been picking up steam again. Anaplan grew total revenue at a 35% clip year over year in Q3 fiscal 2022 (the three months ended Oct. 31, 2021), up from a 28% growth rate a year ago.

The stock took a beating last year as high-growth but richly valued stocks fell out of favor with investors. However, the resource planning market is huge, and Anaplan is still a small player with an enterprise value of just $6.5 billion -- valuing the stock at just over 11 times current-year sales to enterprise value. Armed with more than $312 million in cash and equivalents and no debt, Anaplan can continue its aggressive marketing campaign to promote growth.

Given that Anaplan intentionally operates at a small loss each quarter, expect this stock to remain volatile in the new year. Nevertheless, with cloud computing still on the rise, this company will find plenty of opportunities to expand in the years ahead as it promotes its next-gen software services. If it can maintain its double-digit percentage revenue momentum, shares could be poised for a jump higher in 2022.

2. Magnite: A leader in connected-TV advertising

Magnite is a leader in sell-side digital connected-TV (CTV) advertising, which means it works with publishers to sell ad time on their video content. By way of a few acquisitions, Magnite is a top name in this CTV space, a lucrative niche to be in as television transitions toward internet-based streaming services.

This migration to more modern delivery of video content will take years to play out, and Magnite thus issued a rosy outlook for shareholders in the autumn of 2021. It expects to grow its revenue an average of 25% in each of the next five years. However, the company has accumulated substantial debt because of its acquisitions. As of the end of September 2021, it had $719 million in long-term indebtedness, offset by only $188 million in cash and equivalents. With interest rates expected to climb this year, Magnite's borrowing costs could go up, not to mention the effect higher rates have on growth stocks.

Nevertheless, Magnite remains a fast-growing company. When including results from the recent takeover of SpotX and SpringServe a year ago, the newly combined Magnite business grew CTV revenue 51% year over year, and its DV+ segment (all other digital video formats like mobile and desktop) grew at a mid-teens percentage in Q3. The company's free cash flow was $34 million in the quarter as well, good for a free cash flow profit margin of 26%.

While a high level of debt is worth monitoring, there's still a lot to like with Magnite. Even management thinks the steep decline in share price is a buying opportunity, as it announced a $50 million share-repurchase plan in December. If the company continues to grow at a fast pace this year, a rally could be in order.

3. Appian: Low-code development and software-based robotics are key business solutions

Digital process automation (DPA) firm Appian has been on an especially wild ride during the pandemic. After two short squeezes (in which traders betting against a stock close out their positions and cause a fast rally in share price), one last winter and a second over the summer of 2021, Appian is back to where it was in the early autumn of 2020, leading to the big 60% stock price drop in the last year.

That's the stock's performance, but the business itself has continued to chug along at a healthy pace. According to a recent report from researcher Forrester, Appian is a leader in DPA, combining its low-code software development platform with workflow mining and automation capabilities. This helps enterprises streamline their operations to become more efficient. It's a crowded space that includes some industry heavyweights like Microsoft and ServiceNow, but Appian has carved out a respectable place at the table.

In Q3 2021, total revenue increased 20% year over year to $92.4 million, driven by a 32% increase in the company's important subscription revenue segment to $67.2 million. Adjusted EBITDA was negative $12 million as Appian continues to spend heavily to support expansion, but with $188 million in cash and short-term investments on balance, the company can easily afford this strategy.

At the start of 2022, Appian stock trades for just under 13 times full-year anticipated revenue, not far off from the value it traded for at the start of the pandemic. If Appian continues to grow in the new year at a double-digit-percentage pace, the stage looks set for another run higher for this top play in software-based robotics and business automation.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Growth Stocks Down at Least 36% But Poised for a Bull Run in 2022
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Growth Stocks Down at Least 36% But Poised for a Bull Run in 2022\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2022-01-05 11:19 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
2021 was a tough year for many growth-stock investors. If Appian continues to grow in the new year at a double-digit-percentage pace, the stage looks set for another run higher for this top play in software-based robotics and business automation.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":326,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":813642026,"gmtCreate":1630201343665,"gmtModify":1676530241400,"author":{"id":"3582339314142654","authorId":"3582339314142654","name":"LTTan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ff4cfb8a35f162085843e3c2d42871a9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582339314142654","authorIdStr":"3582339314142654"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hopefully is true","listText":"Hopefully is true","text":"Hopefully is true","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/813642026","repostId":"1111790802","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":355,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":830225648,"gmtCreate":1629076990984,"gmtModify":1676529921737,"author":{"id":"3582339314142654","authorId":"3582339314142654","name":"LTTan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ff4cfb8a35f162085843e3c2d42871a9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582339314142654","authorIdStr":"3582339314142654"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"?","listText":"?","text":"?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/830225648","repostId":"1159801133","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":248,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9069670891,"gmtCreate":1651285682957,"gmtModify":1676534884870,"author":{"id":"3582339314142654","authorId":"3582339314142654","name":"LTTan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ff4cfb8a35f162085843e3c2d42871a9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582339314142654","authorIdStr":"3582339314142654"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"👍","listText":"👍","text":"👍","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9069670891","repostId":"2231269104","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2231269104","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1651272464,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2231269104?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-04-30 06:47","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US STOCKS-Wall Street Closes Sharply Lower on Amazon Slump, Inflation Worries","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2231269104","media":"Reuters","summary":"$Amazon(AMZN)$ tumbles after results and outlook fall shortApple slips after flagging supply problemsMonthly inflation surged by the most since 2005Indexes end: S&P 500 -3.63%, Nasdaq -4.17%, Dow -2.7","content":"

Amazon tumbles after results and outlook fall short

Apple slips after flagging supply problems

Monthly inflation surged by the most since 2005

Indexes end: S&P 500 -3.63%, Nasdaq -4.17%, Dow -2.77%

(Reuters) - Wall Street slid on Friday to its deepest daily losses since 2020, as Amazon slumped following a gloomy quarterly report, and as the biggest surge in monthly inflation since 2005 spooked investors already worried about rising interest rates.

Amazon.com Inc tumbled 14.05% in its steepest one-day drop since 2006, leaving the widely held stock near two-year lows. (THE BUSINESS TIMES) - Temasek Holdings has made a mandatory conditional general cash offer to acquire all the issued and paid-up ordinary shares in Sembcorp Marine (Sembmarine), after Temasek's stake in the latter was raised to 46.6 per cent from 42.2 per cent due to its rights issue.\nThe offer is in line with Rule 14.1 of the Take-over Code, where any entity controlling 30 to 50 per cent of a company must make a mandatory general offer if it raises its interest by more than 1 per cent within a period of six months.\nThrough its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Startree Investments, the offer is made at a price of S$0.08 per share in cash, which is in line with the rights issue price, Sembmarine said in a bourse filing on Wednesday.\nIt said Startree intends to keep Sembmarine listed on the Singapore Exchange following the completion of the offer.\nBut it also noted that \"Startree reserves the right to re-evaluate its position, taking into account, among other things, the level of acceptances received by Startree in respect of the mandatory general offer and the prevailing market conditions at the relevant time\".\nStartree was issued 9.3 million rights shares as a result of its undertaking in the rights issue, which raised its aggregate shareholding in Sembmarine by 4 per cent.\nSembmarine expects it will electronically disseminate the offer document between Oct 6 and Oct 13, and the offer will close 28 days after posting of the offer document.\nMorgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) has been appointed as sole financial adviser to the offeror in connection with the mandatory general offer.\nShares of Sembmarine closed up 0.3 Singapore cent or 3.7 per cent at 8.8 cents on Tuesday.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":163,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9981625362,"gmtCreate":1666494932956,"gmtModify":1676537762279,"author":{"id":"3582339314142654","authorId":"3582339314142654","name":"LTTan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ff4cfb8a35f162085843e3c2d42871a9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582339314142654","authorIdStr":"3582339314142654"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a jobs data will shape views on Fed policy.\n\nAsian stocks rose Friday and the dollar held a drop after cyclicals led Wall Street to a record high ahead of a U.S. jobs report that will shape views on the outlook for Federal Reserve monetary policy.\nMSCI Inc.’s Asia-Pacific gauge climbed for a sixth day, the longest streak since January, as equities advanced in Japan, Australia and South Korea. U.S. futures fluctuated after energy shares helped the S&P 500 to a new peak. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield edged up.\nThe payrolls report will color expectations about when the Fed might start tapering pandemic-era stimulus and how long it can wait before hiking interest-rates. The U.S. probably added725,000 jobsin August -- a more moderate pace versus the prior two months, but stronger than early 2021.\nCrude oil was near $70 a barrel on bets that the market can absorb additional supply from OPEC+ as the U.S. Gulf grapples with Hurricane Ida’s impact.\nThe payrolls report is another potential test of the prevailing calm in financial markets, which so far have weathered risks to economic reopening from coronavirus variants and the prospect of less expansive monetary policy. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. strategists said concerns about economic expansion areoverdone, pointing to possible gains in cyclical assets in the near future.\nThere’s going to be a resumption of the growth trade that slowed over the summer, Michael Cuggino, president at the Permanent Portfolio Family of Funds, said on Bloomberg Television. He added that “we’re going to get a few quarters of unusually high growth as we resume to normal; then it gets really interesting -- is that growth sustainable?”\nIn the latest Fed comments, Atlanta President Raphael Bostic said “we’re going to let theeconomycontinue to run until we see signs of inflation,” before stepping in on interest rates. U.S. data showed initial jobless claims declined to a fresh pandemic low, while factory orders beat expectations.\nTraders are continuing to monitor the political debate over planned U.S. fiscal outlays. Senator Joe Manchin is demanding a“strategic pause”in action on President Joe Biden’s economic agenda, potentially imperiling the $3.5 trillion tax and spending package.\nSome of the main moves in markets:\nStocks\n\nS&P 500 futures were steady as of 9:15 a.m. in Tokyo. What's more, Applied's guidance turned out to be strong as well, fueled by the massive growth in semiconductor investments across the globe as chipmakers are scrambling to meet huge end-market demand.
\n
\n
It's worth noting that Applied Materials stock is now trading at a cheaper valuation than it was before the quarterly report came out, thanks to the terrific earnings growth. Its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio is just 23, while the forward earnings multiple of 17 indicates that more bottom-line growth is in the cards. These multiples are lower than the S&P 500 Index's trailing P/E of 31 and forward P/E of 22.
\n
That means there's a golden opportunity for investors to add a rapidly growing company to their portfolios at an attractive valuation, and they shouldn't miss out. Let's look at some reasons.
\n
Applied Materials is now growing at a blistering pace
\n
A $1,000 investment in Applied Materials stock a decade ago would be worth almost $12,000 now:
\n
AMAT data by YCharts.
\n
However, as the chart above shows, the company's top and bottom lines haven't exactly grown at a blistering pace over the past 10 years. Its revenue just about doubled, while earnings growth hasn't been eye-popping either, considering the pace at which the broader market's bottom line has increased. Also, as the chart indicates, most of Applied Materials' gains arrived in the past year and a half, after it became evident that the company's offerings would remain in hot demand amid a global semiconductor shortage that has disrupted several industries.
\n
Not surprisingly, Applied Materials' revenue and earnings have been growing at a much faster pace when compared to its average annual growth in the past 10 years. The company delivered record quarterly revenue of $6.2 billion in Q3, up 41% year over year. It also clocked a record (adjusted) operating margin of 32.7%, a jump of 6.3 percentage points over the prior year.
\n
The terrific sales and margin growth led to record adjusted earnings of $1.90 per share, up 79% from the year-ago quarter. The results crushed the expectations of analysts who'd been looking for $1.77 per share in earnings on $5.94 billion in revenue.
\n
Applied Materials' guidance was the icing on the cake. The company expects, at the midpoint of its guidance range, to earn $1.94 per share this quarter on revenue of $6.33 billion. Wall Street had set the bar lower; analysts were expecting just $1.81 in earnings per share on $6.04 billion in revenue. The midpoint of the guidance indicates that Applied is anticipating 35% year-over-year revenue growth this quarter, while non-GAAP (adjusted) earnings could increase 55%.
\n
The impressive guidance is a clue that Applied Materials has switched into a higher gear, and it's unlikely to step off the gas given the massive end-market opportunity at hand. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising to see its growth over the next decade significantly outpacing the rate at which it's grown in the past 10 years, helping the stock to fly higher once again.
\n
Sustainable growth drivers can help the stock soar
\n
Applied Materials supplies chip fabrication equipment, services, and software to semiconductor manufacturers. Its largest source of revenue is the semiconductor systems business, through which Applied develops, manufactures, and sells semiconductor fabrication equipment. This segment produced nearly 72% of the company's total revenue last quarter and recorded 53% year-over-year growth.
\n
Within the semiconductor systems business, the foundry/logic vertical occupied the largest share with 63% of total revenue, up from 55% in the year-ago quarter. The foundry business is built for long-term growth, as chipmakers across the globe are ramping up capacity. For instance, global semiconductor capital spending stood at an estimated $29.4 billion in 2010, according to Gartner. Last year, that number had ballooned to $106.9 billion.
\n
Gartner estimates that global semiconductor spending will rise to $141.9 billion this year. Spending on semiconductor equipment can keep moving higher in the coming years on the back of a huge jump in chip demand.
\n
Applied Materials points out that the semiconductor industry took 40 years to achieve its first $200 billion in revenue; from 2000 to 2017, the industry added the next $200 billion. An additional $200 billion of revenue is expected by 2024, over a shorter span of just seven years. What's more, the semiconductor industry's revenue is anticipated to increase a whopping $400 billion from 2025 to 2030, hitting $1 trillion at the end of the forecast period.
\n
Chipmakers will need to buy new equipment or upgrade their existing setups to cater to this massive increase in semiconductor demand, which will be driven by several verticals including automotive, networking, and industrial. Discussing \"PPACt\" (chip power efficiency, performance, area, cost, and time to market), Applied Materials CEO Gary Dickerson said on the Q3 earnings call that the company is on track to take advantage of these tailwinds and outperform the broader market:
\n
\n As we look ahead, we are confident that the strength of longer-term secular trends will drive semiconductor and wafer fab equipment markets structurally higher. What's more, Applied's guidance turned out to be strong as well, fueled by the massive growth in semiconductor investments across the globe as chipmakers are scrambling to meet huge end-market demand.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nIt's worth noting that Applied Materials stock is now trading at a cheaper valuation than it was before the quarterly report came out, thanks to the terrific earnings growth. Its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio is just 23, while the forward earnings multiple of 17 indicates that more bottom-line growth is in the cards. These multiples are lower than the S&P 500 Index's trailing P/E of 31 and forward P/E of 22.\nThat means there's a golden opportunity for investors to add a rapidly growing company to their portfolios at an attractive valuation, and they shouldn't miss out. Let's look at some reasons.\nApplied Materials is now growing at a blistering pace\nA $1,000 investment in Applied Materials stock a decade ago would be worth almost $12,000 now:\nAMAT data by YCharts.\nHowever, as the chart above shows, the company's top and bottom lines haven't exactly grown at a blistering pace over the past 10 years. Its revenue just about doubled, while earnings growth hasn't been eye-popping either, considering the pace at which the broader market's bottom line has increased. Also, as the chart indicates, most of Applied Materials' gains arrived in the past year and a half, after it became evident that the company's offerings would remain in hot demand amid a global semiconductor shortage that has disrupted several industries.\nNot surprisingly, Applied Materials' revenue and earnings have been growing at a much faster pace when compared to its average annual growth in the past 10 years. The company delivered record quarterly revenue of $6.2 billion in Q3, up 41% year over year. It also clocked a record (adjusted) operating margin of 32.7%, a jump of 6.3 percentage points over the prior year.\nThe terrific sales and margin growth led to record adjusted earnings of $1.90 per share, up 79% from the year-ago quarter. The results crushed the expectations of analysts who'd been looking for $1.77 per share in earnings on $5.94 billion in revenue.\nApplied Materials' guidance was the icing on the cake. The company expects, at the midpoint of its guidance range, to earn $1.94 per share this quarter on revenue of $6.33 billion. Wall Street had set the bar lower; analysts were expecting just $1.81 in earnings per share on $6.04 billion in revenue. The midpoint of the guidance indicates that Applied is anticipating 35% year-over-year revenue growth this quarter, while non-GAAP (adjusted) earnings could increase 55%.\nThe impressive guidance is a clue that Applied Materials has switched into a higher gear, and it's unlikely to step off the gas given the massive end-market opportunity at hand. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising to see its growth over the next decade significantly outpacing the rate at which it's grown in the past 10 years, helping the stock to fly higher once again.\nSustainable growth drivers can help the stock soar\nApplied Materials supplies chip fabrication equipment, services, and software to semiconductor manufacturers. Its largest source of revenue is the semiconductor systems business, through which Applied develops, manufactures, and sells semiconductor fabrication equipment. This segment produced nearly 72% of the company's total revenue last quarter and recorded 53% year-over-year growth.\nWithin the semiconductor systems business, the foundry/logic vertical occupied the largest share with 63% of total revenue, up from 55% in the year-ago quarter. The foundry business is built for long-term growth, as chipmakers across the globe are ramping up capacity. For instance, global semiconductor capital spending stood at an estimated $29.4 billion in 2010, according to Gartner. Last year, that number had ballooned to $106.9 billion.\nGartner estimates that global semiconductor spending will rise to $141.9 billion this year. Spending on semiconductor equipment can keep moving higher in the coming years on the back of a huge jump in chip demand.\nApplied Materials points out that the semiconductor industry took 40 years to achieve its first $200 billion in revenue; from 2000 to 2017, the industry added the next $200 billion. An additional $200 billion of revenue is expected by 2024, over a shorter span of just seven years. What's more, the semiconductor industry's revenue is anticipated to increase a whopping $400 billion from 2025 to 2030, hitting $1 trillion at the end of the forecast period.\nChipmakers will need to buy new equipment or upgrade their existing setups to cater to this massive increase in semiconductor demand, which will be driven by several verticals including automotive, networking, and industrial. Discussing \"PPACt\" (chip power efficiency, performance, area, cost, and time to market), Applied Materials CEO Gary Dickerson said on the Q3 earnings call that the company is on track to take advantage of these tailwinds and outperform the broader market:\n\n As we look ahead, we are confident that the strength of longer-term secular trends will drive semiconductor and wafer fab equipment markets structurally higher. And we believe Applied is in the best position to accelerate our customers' PPACt roadmaps, and grow significantly faster than our markets.\n\nAll of this indicates that Applied Materials is in a solid position to deliver more upside. Analysts expect the company's earnings to clock a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 25% for the next five years. At its current valuation, buying this tech stock is a no-brainer.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":292,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":813627606,"gmtCreate":1630200223905,"gmtModify":1676530241030,"author":{"id":"3582339314142654","authorId":"3582339314142654","name":"LTTan","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/ff4cfb8a35f162085843e3c2d42871a9","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3582339314142654","authorIdStr":"3582339314142654"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Finally","listText":"Finally","text":"Finally","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/813627606","repostId":"2162707824","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2162707824","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1630104635,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2162707824?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2021-08-28 06:50","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. resumes supply of Lilly's COVID-19 antibody combo to some states","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2162707824","media":"Reuters","summary":"Aug 27 (Reuters) - U.S. health officials on Friday decided to resume the supply of Eli Lilly's COVID","content":"
Aug 27 (Reuters) - U.S. health officials on Friday decided to resume the supply of Eli Lilly's COVID-19 antibody cocktail to states where variants resistant to it are low, saying the therapy could work against the fast-spreading Delta variant based on lab studies.
\n
The Department of Health and Human Services narrowed the scope of authorization for the dual-antibody therapy, bamlanivimab and etesevimab, to states including Colorado, Connecticut and Illinois, Indiana.
\n
With the Delta variant becoming the dominant strain, the prevalence of variants resistant to the therapy is steadily decreasing, the agency said
\n
Based on lab tests, the drugs administered together are expected to retain activity against the Delta variant, but not against Delta plus and variants first identified in Brazil, South Africa and Colombia, it said.
\n
The department had in June paused its distribution after the therapy failed to show effectiveness against the coronavirus variants that were first identified in Brazil and South Africa.
\n
The supply of standalone etesevimab to be paired with existing supply of bamlanivimab is also being resumed to some states.
\n
Regeneron's antibody therapy REGEN-COV, and GlaxoSmithKline Plc and partner Vir Biotechnology's
\n
sotrovimab may be used in all states, territories, and U.S. jurisdictions as they are likely to be effective against most variants including Delta, the agency said.
\n
Bamlanivimab and etesevimab, REGEN-COV and sotrovimab are authorized for use in people 12 years and above with mild-to-moderate infection and are at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;
