She knows ups and downs are to be expected, but what she’s seeing happen with investment fads like GameStop has her concerned.\n“I don’t like what I see happening in the market right now,” Orman said in a video for CNBC. “The economy has been horrible, but the stock market has been going.”\nWhile investing is as easy now asusing a smartphone app, Orman is concerned about where we can go from these record highs.\nAnd even with stimulus checks, which are still going out, and the real estate market breaking its own records last year, Orman worries about what will come with the coronavirus — especially as new variants continue to pop up.\nWhat's more, she feels it’s just been too long since the last crash to stay this high much longer.\n“This reminds me of 2000 all over again,” Orman says.\nThe Buffett Indicator\nLarry W Smith/EPA/Shutterstock\nOne metric Warren Buffett uses to assess the market so regularly that it’s been named after him has been flashing red for long enough that market watchers are starting to wonder if it’s an outdated tool.\nBut the Buffett Indicator, a measurement of the ratio of the stock market’s total value against U.S. economic output, continues to climb to previously unseen levels.\nAnd those in the know are wondering if it's a sign that we’re about to see a hard fall.\nHow to prepare for a crashFreedomz / Shutterstock\nOrman has three recommendations for setting up a simple investment strategy to help you successfully navigate any sharp turns in the market.\n1. Buy low\nPart of what upsets Orman so much about the furor over meme stocks like GameStop is it goes completely against the average investor’s interests.\n“All of you have your heads screwed on backwards,” she says. “All you want is for these markets to go up and up and up. What good is that going to do you?”\nShe points out the only extra money most people have goes towardinvesting for retirementin their 401(k) or IRA plans.\nBecause you probably don’t plan to touch that money for decades, the best long-term strategy is to buy low. That way, your dollar will go much further now, leaving plenty of room for growth over the next 20, 30 or 40 years.\n2. Invest on a schedule\nkatjen / Shutterstock\nWhile she prefers to buy low, Orman doesn’t recommend you stop investing completely when the market goes up.\nShe wants casual investors to not get caught up in the daily ups and downs of the market.\nIn fact, cheering for downturns now may be your best bet at getting a larger piece of very profitable investments — like some lucky investors were able to do back in 2007 and 2008.\n“When the market went down, down, down you could buy things at nothing,” says Orman. “And now look at them 15 years later.”\nShe suggests you set up a dollar-cost averaging strategy, which means you invest your money in equal portions at regular intervals, regardless of the market’s fluctuations.\nThis kind of approach is easy to implement with any of the many investing apps currently available to DIY investors.\nThere are even apps that willautomatically invest your spare changeby rounding up your debit and credit card purchases to the nearest dollar.\n3. Diversify with fractional shares\nTo help weather dips in specific corners of the market, Orman suggests you diversify your investments — balance your portfolio with investments in many different types of assets and sectors of the economy.\nOrman particularly recommends fractional-share investing. This approach allows you to buy a slice of a share for a big-name company that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford.\nWith the help of apopular stock-trading tool, anyone at any budget can afford the fractional share strategy.\n“The sooner you begin, the more money you will have,” says Orman. “Just don’t stop, and when these markets go down, you should be so happy because your dollars find more shares.”\n“And the more shares you have, the more money you’ll have 20, 40, 50 years from now.”\nWhat else you can do\ngoodluz / Shutterstock\nWhether or not a big crash is around the corner, investors who are still decades out from retirement can make that work for them, Orman said in theCNBC video.\nFirst, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Aon:Earlier this year, Berkshire Hathaway took an initial position in insurance broker Aon plc(NYSE:AON). Shares of the company are up 15% year-to-date, could see more upside and could also be a position Buffett adds to.
\n
Aonreportedfirst-quarter revenue up 10% year-over-year, including organic revenue growth of 6%. The company’s margins improved and earnings per share grew 22% year-over-year. Aon announced a supply chain global protection plan for COVID-19 vaccines that could be a highlight in the next earnings report.
\n
2. Apple:There have been several rallies for technology stocks in the first half of 2021. Despite the rallies, shares of technology giant Apple Inc(NASDAQ:AAPL) traded flat in the first half of 2021.
\n
Apple makes up the largest stock holding in the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio. The iPhone maker continues to be an innovator and should not be overlooked for more product launches and announcements in the second half of the year that could move shares of the stock higher.
\n
3. Bank of America: Bank of America Corporation(NYSE:BAC) is a large holding of Buffett's and one of several bank stocks that he has kept. Buffett has significantly lowered the company’s weighting in Wells Fargo Co(NYSE:WFC), a stock it once owned 10% of and started investing in dating back to 1989.
\n
Bank of America could be Buffett's favored banking stock and it comes as the company reported record consumer investment assets and record client balances in thefirst quarter.
\n
Revenue for the first quarter of $22.8 billion was flat year-over-year but several areas saw strong demand and growth. The company announced it's raising its quarterly dividend from 18 cents to 21 cents in late June and could continue to raise dividends after passing a new bank stress test.
\n
4. Coca-Cola:One of Buffett's favorites is Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO). Shares of the beverage giant are down 1% in the first half of 2021 as many consumer food and beverage companies have seen positive returns. The company could be due to make a bigacquisitionlike that of Monster Beverage Corporation(NASDAQ:MNST) orpushing furtherinto alcoholic beverages.
\n
5. Verizon:Shares of Verizon Communications(NYSE:VZ) are down around 4% in the first half of 2021. The companyreportedtotal revenue of $32.9 billion in the first quarter, up 4% year-over-year. Several of the company’s core business segments saw single-digit growth.
\n
A shift to 5G nationwide could help a company like Verizon, which along with a near 5% dividend yield could make the communications giant a stock to watch in the second half of 2021.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 Warren Buffett Favorites To Keep An Eye On
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 Warren Buffett Favorites To Keep An Eye On\n
\n\n
\n\n\n<div class=\"head\" \">\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Benzinga
\n
2021-07-02 20:41
\n
\n\n
\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
Legendary investor Warren Buffett has posted an impressive 21% year-to-date return for his flagship Berkshire Hathaway Inc(NYSE:BRKA) (NYSE:BRKB) in the first half of 2021.
\n
Here's a look at five stocks owned by Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway that could see strong gains in the second half of 2021.
\n
1. Aon:Earlier this year, Berkshire Hathaway took an initial position in insurance broker Aon plc(NYSE:AON). Shares of the company are up 15% year-to-date, could see more upside and could also be a position Buffett adds to.\nAonreportedfirst-quarter revenue up 10% year-over-year, including organic revenue growth of 6%. The company’s margins improved and earnings per share grew 22% year-over-year. Aon announced a supply chain global protection plan for COVID-19 vaccines that could be a highlight in the next earnings report.\n2. Apple:There have been several rallies for technology stocks in the first half of 2021. Despite the rallies, shares of technology giant Apple Inc(NASDAQ:AAPL) traded flat in the first half of 2021.\nApple makes up the largest stock holding in the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio. The iPhone maker continues to be an innovator and should not be overlooked for more product launches and announcements in the second half of the year that could move shares of the stock higher.\n3. Bank of America: Bank of America Corporation(NYSE:BAC) is a large holding of Buffett's and one of several bank stocks that he has kept. Buffett has significantly lowered the company’s weighting in Wells Fargo Co(NYSE:WFC), a stock it once owned 10% of and started investing in dating back to 1989.\nBank of America could be Buffett's favored banking stock and it comes as the company reported record consumer investment assets and record client balances in thefirst quarter.\nRevenue for the first quarter of $22.8 billion was flat year-over-year but several areas saw strong demand and growth. The company announced it's raising its quarterly dividend from 18 cents to 21 cents in late June and could continue to raise dividends after passing a new bank stress test.\n4. Coca-Cola:One of Buffett's favorites is Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO). Shares of the beverage giant are down 1% in the first half of 2021 as many consumer food and beverage companies have seen positive returns. The company could be due to make a bigacquisitionlike that of Monster Beverage Corporation(NASDAQ:MNST) orpushing furtherinto alcoholic beverages.\n5. Verizon:Shares of Verizon Communications(NYSE:VZ) are down around 4% in the first half of 2021. The companyreportedtotal revenue of $32.9 billion in the first quarter, up 4% year-over-year. Several of the company’s core business segments saw single-digit growth.\nA shift to 5G nationwide could help a company like Verizon, which along with a near 5% dividend yield could make the communications giant a stock to watch in the second half of 2021.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":36,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":151301129,"gmtCreate":1625062953261,"gmtModify":1703735235060,"author":{"id":"3586849052179357","authorId":"3586849052179357","name":"MamaT","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d79313d9588ac037fa08248951d51ab6","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Unububu","listText":"Unububu","text":"Unububu","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/151301129","repostId":"1137680554","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1137680554","pubTimestamp":1625061646,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1137680554?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-30 22:00","market":"us","language":"en","title":"May home sales rebound to highest level since 2005, shocking even the Realtors","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1137680554","media":"CNBC","summary":"KEY POINTS\n\nPending home sales surprised the experts, rising 8% in May\nRealtors point to lower mortg","content":"
\n
KEY POINTS\n\nPending home sales surprised the experts, rising 8% in May\nRealtors point to lower mortgage rates for some of the sales gains.\nPending sales were strongest in the Northeast and West.\n\nThe ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Despite recent months of softening sales, buyers came back remarkably strongly in May.\nPending home sales, a measure of signed contracts on existing homes, jumped an unexpectedly high 8% in May compared with April, according to the National Association of Realtors. Analysts expected a 1% drop. This is the highest level of sales activity for May since 2005.\nSales were up 13% from May of 2020, when the housing market was just beginning to come back from the coronavirus lockdown. Pending contracts are a forward-looking indicator of closed home sales.\n“May’s strong increase in transactions – following April’s decline, as well as a sudden erosion in home affordability – was indeed a surprise,” said Lawrence Yun, NAR’s chief economist. “The housing market is attracting buyers due to the decline in mortgage rates, which fell below 3%, and from an uptick in listings.”\nAfter falling quite sharply in April, the average on the 30-year fixed hovered in a tight range throughout May, giving some buyers at least a little relief on potential monthly payments.\nBut sky-high home prices have been a major concern. In April, the much watched S&P Case-Shiller National Home Price Index was up over 14% year over year, the largest gain in its 30-year history.\nThe Realtors report even higher gains in the median home price, some of which is skewed due to the fact that more of the sales activity is happening on the higher end of the market, where listings are more plentiful. The low end of the market is barely budging, as first-time buyers struggle for meager listings. Investors, the majority of whom use cash, are also more prevalent at the lower end of the market.\n“While these hurdles have contributed to pricing out some would-be buyers, the record-high aggregate wealth in the country from the elevated stock market and rising home prices are evidently providing funds for home purchases,” Yun said.\nRegionally, pending home sales jumped 15.5% in the Northeast month-to-month. In the Midwest, sales rose 6.7%. Sales in the South rose 4.9% from April. In the West, they rose 10.9%.\nTight supply of existing homes has been a major factor, but that supply did rise slightly in May compared with April, although it was still historically low. Supply of existing homes is about 20% below year-ago levels. Homebuilders have also not been ramping up production as quickly as the market is demanding.\nSales of newly built homes in May, which are also measured by signed contracts, fell nearly 6% from April, as builders continued to raise prices. The median price of a newly built home sold in May was up 18%, according to the U.S. Census. Builders have seen soaring costs for land, labor and materials. While the price of lumber has come down dramatically in the last month, it is still well above pre-pandemic levels.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":9,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":159049449,"gmtCreate":1624932867381,"gmtModify":1703848255116,"author":{"id":"3586849052179357","authorId":"3586849052179357","name":"MamaT","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d79313d9588ac037fa08248951d51ab6","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Bdherbebdnd","listText":"Bdherbebdnd","text":"Bdherbebdnd","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/159049449","repostId":"2147837316","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2147837316","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1624921533,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2147837316?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-29 07:05","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tech stock rally sends S&P and Nasdaq to record highs","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2147837316","media":"Reuters","summary":" - The Nasdaq and S&P 500 hit all-time highs on Monday, fueled by tech stocks as investors expect a robust earnings season while interest rates remain low.Big tech companies including Facebook Inc, Netflix Inc, Twitter Inc and Nvidia Corp were among the biggest boosts to the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq. The S&P 500 continued its recent momentum after paring some earlier losses, recording its third record high in a row, after logging its best weekly performance in 20 weeks last Friday. In contrast, cycl","content":"
(Reuters) - The Nasdaq and S&P 500 hit all-time highs on Monday, fueled by tech stocks as investors expect a robust earnings season while interest rates remain low.
\n
Big tech companies including Facebook Inc, Netflix Inc, Twitter Inc and Nvidia Corp were among the biggest boosts to the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq.
\n
The S&P 500 continued its recent momentum after paring some earlier losses, recording its third record high in a row, after logging its best weekly performance in 20 weeks last Friday.
\n
In contrast, cyclical sectors dropped sharply amid fears over a spike in COVID-19 cases across Asia. Financials and energy posted the biggest sectoral loss on S&P 500, down by 0.81% and 3.33%, respectively.\n“It’s end of the quarter and investors may want to take some profits and rotate out of energy and stick with tech,” said Sam Stovall, chief investment strategist at CFRA Research in New York.\nStovall expects stocks should continue their near-term climb as investors await the new earnings season, in which year-over-year earnings growth of S&P 500 companies is expected to top 60%.\nThe Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 150.57 points, or 0.44%, to close at 34,283.27. The S&P 500 pared earlier losses and advanced from Friday’s record high by gaining 9.91 points, or 0.23%, to 4,290.61. The Nasdaq Composite added 140.12 points, or 0.98%, to 14,500.51.\nBoth the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq hit a series of record highs last week. the tech-heavy Nasdaq’s 5% gain in June is outpacing its peers as investors pile back in to tech-oriented growth stocks on diminishing worries about runaway inflation.\n“We believe with the Fed putting a realistic goal post, investors now have much more of a risk-on mentality going into the second half of the year. A lot of these tech names have underperformed, while fundamentals were very robust going into the June quarter,” said Wedbush Securities analyst Daniel Ives, who expects the Nasdaq to hit 16,000 by year-end.\nFacebook jumped over 4% as a U.S. judge granted the company’s motion to dismiss a Federal Trade Commission lawsuit. The social media giant finished Monday with over $1 trillion in market capitalization.\nOn the Nasdaq 100, the largest gainer was Nvidia Corp, which rose 5.0% after major chip makers Broadcom Inc, Marvell and Taiwan-based MediaTek endorsed its $40 billion deal to buy UK chip designer Arm.\nWith the S&P 500 up almost 14% as the first half of 2021 draws to a close, activity in some areas of the market indicates concern over potential volatility, with some investors suggesting the market may be overdue for a significant pullback.\nOn the economic front, investor attention will be focused on consumer confidence data, a private jobs report and a crucial monthly employment report due later this week. Quarterly results from Micron Technology Inc and Walgreens Boots Alliance are also slated for this week.\nDeclining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by a 1.38-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 1.09-to-1 ratio favored decliners.\nThe S&P 500 posted 36 new 52-week highs and no new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 100 new highs and 31 new lows.\nVolume on U.S. exchanges was 9.55 billion shares, compared with the 11.17 billion average for the full session over the last 20 trading days.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":34,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":123810784,"gmtCreate":1624415241348,"gmtModify":1703835985767,"author":{"id":"3586849052179357","authorId":"3586849052179357","name":"MamaT","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d79313d9588ac037fa08248951d51ab6","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Dvdvdvdgdgegeg","listText":"Dvdvdvdgdgegeg","text":"Dvdvdvdgdgegeg","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/123810784","repostId":"114899451","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":114899451,"gmtCreate":1623063308869,"gmtModify":1704195267674,"author":{"id":"36984908995200","authorId":"36984908995200","name":"小虎活动","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/44a4f89726b3f6319d06a0075bf9ff76","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"title":"【老虎7週年】集卡瓜分百萬獎金","htmlText":"老虎7週年給大家發福利了,集齊TIGER五個字母即有機會瓜分百萬獎金,你準備好了嗎?
