With the appropriate strategy, allocation, and investing time horizon, this isn't an impossible goal by any means. As you diversify your basket of stocks to work toward this achievement, it's important to select quality businesses across a wide variety of sectors with multiple catalysts to sustain continued returns over a period of years.

For example, if you were to invest $200,000 in the stock market right now, promising companies with innovative, industry-leading businesses ripe for future growth could foreseeably compound that investment by 5 times or more in the next decade. With that said, here are two such stocks that could help you build out your retirement plan.

1. Upstart

Upstart is dealing with extremely choppy market waters right now; however, looking beyond these events to the company's long-term prospects, an altogether brighter picture forms. To understand why, one has to take a deeper look into the inner workings of Upstart and its business, which is driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning. The company operates a lending marketplace that revolves around its innovative technology platform, which leverages more than 1,600 data points to assess the creditworthiness of any given consumer. In other words, it doesn't just the FICO score but atypical factors like education and income to help determine this.

By using a far broader range of factors to determine whether an applicant ought to be approved for a loan, as well as the platform's predictive capabilities that calibrate to the economic environment to assess the likelihood of that applicant to default, Upstart has not only been able to democratize the long-stale lending arena but also lower risk for institutional partners with more inclusive and real-time data.

Moreover, because Upstart's platform is constantly learning, this not only enables it to adjust to the most current economic conditions, but this also means that more of the company's loan applications are being handled on a fully automated basis.

In Upstart's full-year 2022 earnings report, management said that 82% of all loan applications on the platform were fully automated -- the highest level of automation its model has reached in the history of the company. Moreover, 88% of all small-dollar loans are now automated. On top of that, as of the end of 2022, Upstart's model had learned more in the prior seven months than it had in the entire 30 months before that.

During 2022, Upstart's number of bank and credit union partners soared 120% from 2021, and its network of auto dealers jumped more than 90% year over year. Bear in mind, the auto lending market alone represents a near $800 billion opportunity, and as of the end of 2022, the company had the second-fastest-growing auto retail software in the country.

As Upstart's platform is constantly learning, a challenging economic environment is inevitably going to mean that it approves fewer loans than it would in a situation where the risk of default is lower, but this would also indicate the exact opposite would happen in a more buoyant economic landscape. At the same time, the combination of institutional partners funding far fewer loans right now and a drop in consumers applying for loans has contributed to the declines in Upstart's top and bottom lines recently. While investors will need to continue watching these factors closely in the quarters ahead, it's important to differentiate broader economic headwinds from headwinds tied directly to Upstart's business.

The fact that the company is expanding market share, boosting platform automation, and rapidly growing its partner network even in a decidedly bleak lending environment is notable, and could prime the business for a relatively rapid upward trajectory once the economic environment improves and interest rates come down. Even a conservative position in this top growth stock could yield tremendous results over the next five to 10 years when paired with a wide selection of investments in a buy-and-hold investment portfolio. That potential may be too intriguing for some investors to overlook while the stock's currently trading down.

2. Teladoc

Teladoc investors -- and I am one of them -- have faced more than their fair share of volatile market days over the past year. While shares of this healthcare stock are still down 64% from 12 months ago, they've risen roughly 15% since the start of 2023. The market has been far less kind toward unprofitable, growth-oriented businesses in the current economic environment, and Teladoc currently fits squarely into both categories.

The full 2022 year saw Teladoc achieve some notable goals, while falling short on other fronts. Revenue totaled $2.4 billion for the 12-month period, an 18% increase from 2021. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) was down year over year, but still hit $247 million. Teladoc also continues to see rapid adoption across a wide range of its healthcare services, with its teletherapy arm BetterHelp alone posting revenue growth of 29% year over year in the final quarter of 2022.

Teladoc reported a third impairment charge in Q4 of 2022 after having significantly shaved its net losses in the prior quarter. Specifically, it ended the 12-month period with a net loss of $13.7 billion, almost entirely due to impairment charges related to writing down the value of its 2020 Livongo acquisition. Here's the thing, though: While this loss is unpleasant to look at as an investor, these were non-cash impairment charges. In other words, paper-only net losses, which are not the same as actual operational losses.

Even though Teladoc overpaid for that acquisition, its contribution to its overall mission of disrupting the still underserved chronic care solutions market remains a notable green flag for the long-term future of the integration of these two businesses. CEO Jason Gorevic noted the following about its chronic care segment and broader platform expansion on the company's 2022 earnings call:

Access to our platform is available to over 80 million individuals in the U.S. today, primarily through our relationships with employers and health plans. Over 50% of that population has access to more than one of our products. And when I look at our suite of chronic care solutions, 30% of enrollees are now utilizing more than one chronic care product. Our BetterHelp offering provided over 1 million individuals with access to mental healthcare over the past year, many of whom are unlikely to have received any care at all, if not for our services.

Our platform enabled over 22 million visits across specialties last year and over 0.5 billion digital health interactions with an unmatched consumer experience and a net promoter score over 60. That breadth and scale is unrivaled in the industry and gives us a strong foundation on which to expand.

Teladoc remains the premier telehealth platform in the U.S., and the increasing diversity and adoption of its offerings bode well for its ability to continue expanding its market share in the years ahead. Management has been clear that moving back to profitability is a key goal for the future. The investments Teladoc is making now could yield robust returns for the company and its shareholders in the years ahead. As such, given Teladoc's long trajectory for growth, forward-thinking investors may find any dips in the stock to be too good to pass up.

","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Want $1 Million in Retirement?

These proven companies provide the bulk of index returns, as both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite are weighted by market capitalization. Large cap stocks have also earned their massive sizes due to their histories of exceeding expectations and making patient investors steady returns.
\n
The trade-off has always been framed as sacrificing growth for the stability large-cap stocks provide. But investors are increasingly rejecting this false narrative as many large-cap tech stocks continue to post above-average growth rates. These three large-cap companies offer the stability of large-cap stocks, with above-average growth potential.
\n
\n
Amazon's \"slowing growth\" narrative is too bearish
\n
Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has made quite a few investors rich on its way to a $1.7 trillion market cap, including its founder Jeff Bezos -- now the second-richest man in the world. If you had invested $10,000 at its market debut in 1997, your stake would be worth more than $20 million today!
\n
That said, shares of Amazon are trailing the S&P 500 this year, posting a 3% return versus 17% for the index. Despite posting a year-over-year revenue increase of 27%, Amazon missed analyst expectations of a 29% top-line beat. Additionally, the company guided for third-quarter revenue to come in at $109 billion at the midpoint, below consensus estimates of $119 billion.
\n
After being faulted for having no earnings for years, Amazon smashed earnings per share estimates by 23% despite missing on the top line. Ironically, investors ignored the increased profitability of the business to focus on slowing growth.
\n
There are reasons for long-term investors to consider this nothing but noise. Pandemic lockdowns boosted demand for e-commerce last year, which made 2021 a difficult year for comparisons. However, Amazon's higher-margin business segments like third-party seller services (38%), AWS (37%), and subscription services (32%) all outperformed analyst expectations.
\n
However, what's exciting is the company's catch-all other division, which is mostly advertising. During the quarter, revenue attributable to other increased 87% and is now half the size of AWS. Amazon's temporary sell-off has given long-term investors an attractive entry point.
\n
Facebook's slowing user-growth isn't an issue
\n
Facebook's (NASDAQ:FB) Mark Zuckerberg isn't as rich as Bezos, trailing him by an estimated $70 billion, but at 37 he still has a long career ahead of him. Zuckerberg has grown Facebook from an idea to a $1 trillion market cap, and shares are currently 840% higher than their $38 IPO price nine years ago. And there are still long-term drivers drivers ahead for the company.
\n
Facebook's stock rally was halted in its tracks due to second-quarter earnings, despite growing revenue by 56% and EPS by 101% -- both higher than consensus estimates. Investors were disappointed with the company's commentary on revenue growth in the back half of 2021 and the fact that daily active users in the lucrative U.S. and Canadian markets declined from the prior year's corresponding period.
\n
Like Amazon, Facebook is seeing a return to normal after the pandemic. Social media usage understandably exploded during the pandemic, and a return to more in-person events was always going to impact the company's engagement.
\n
Despite the modest yearly decline in daily active users (DAUs) (1.5%), the company still has 195 million people across the U.S. and Canada logging into a Facebook product daily, and can monetize users by raising costs per ad, like it did this quarter.
\n
Zuckerberg is now focused on his most audacious plans yet -- the metaverse. The company acquired virtual reality company Oculus in 2014, and plans to use its headsets to create an entirely new virtual world for users. The potential upside could be bigger than anything it's done yet.
\n
Apple is going from strength to strength
\n
By now, you might have identified a theme in the above stocks, as all are mega-cap tech companies that sold off after earnings. Against that backdrop, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is a natural fit, as shares moderately sold off after the company reported fiscal third-quarter earnings. Although its market cap is approaching $2.5 trillion, the company continues to have growth drivers.
\n
Despite concerns that the iPhone market was saturated, Apple grew revenue attributable to the device 50% over the prior year and boosted total revenue higher by 36%. Although Apple easily topped analyst expectations for revenue and earnings, investors reacted negatively to commentary from CEO Tim Cook that chip shortages could impact iPhone and iPad sales in the current quarter.
\n
While shortages are never ideal, in the short term this is an example of a \"good problem.\" Demand outstripping supply means your product is coveted, and it's unlikely many iPhone users will step out of its ecosystem to buy an Android. These proven companies provide the bulk of index returns, as both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite are weighted by market capitalization. Large cap stocks have also earned their massive sizes due to their histories of exceeding expectations and making patient investors steady returns.\nThe trade-off has always been framed as sacrificing growth for the stability large-cap stocks provide. But investors are increasingly rejecting this false narrative as many large-cap tech stocks continue to post above-average growth rates. These three large-cap companies offer the stability of large-cap stocks, with above-average growth potential.\nImage Source: Getty Images\nAmazon's \"slowing growth\" narrative is too bearish\nAmazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has made quite a few investors rich on its way to a $1.7 trillion market cap, including its founder Jeff Bezos -- now the second-richest man in the world. If you had invested $10,000 at its market debut in 1997, your stake would be worth more than $20 million today!\nThat said, shares of Amazon are trailing the S&P 500 this year, posting a 3% return versus 17% for the index. Despite posting a year-over-year revenue increase of 27%, Amazon missed analyst expectations of a 29% top-line beat. Additionally, the company guided for third-quarter revenue to come in at $109 billion at the midpoint, below consensus estimates of $119 billion.\nAfter being faulted for having no earnings for years, Amazon smashed earnings per share estimates by 23% despite missing on the top line. Ironically, investors ignored the increased profitability of the business to focus on slowing growth.\nThere are reasons for long-term investors to consider this nothing but noise. Pandemic lockdowns boosted demand for e-commerce last year, which made 2021 a difficult year for comparisons. However, Amazon's higher-margin business segments like third-party seller services (38%), AWS (37%), and subscription services (32%) all outperformed analyst expectations.\nHowever, what's exciting is the company's catch-all other division, which is mostly advertising. During the quarter, revenue attributable to other increased 87% and is now half the size of AWS. Amazon's temporary sell-off has given long-term investors an attractive entry point.\nFacebook's slowing user-growth isn't an issue\nFacebook's (NASDAQ:FB) Mark Zuckerberg isn't as rich as Bezos, trailing him by an estimated $70 billion, but at 37 he still has a long career ahead of him. Zuckerberg has grown Facebook from an idea to a $1 trillion market cap, and shares are currently 840% higher than their $38 IPO price nine years ago. And there are still long-term drivers drivers ahead for the company.\nFacebook's stock rally was halted in its tracks due to second-quarter earnings, despite growing revenue by 56% and EPS by 101% -- both higher than consensus estimates. Investors were disappointed with the company's commentary on revenue growth in the back half of 2021 and the fact that daily active users in the lucrative U.S. and Canadian markets declined from the prior year's corresponding period.\nLike Amazon, Facebook is seeing a return to normal after the pandemic. Social media usage understandably exploded during the pandemic, and a return to more in-person events was always going to impact the company's engagement.\nDespite the modest yearly decline in daily active users (DAUs) (1.5%), the company still has 195 million people across the U.S. and Canada logging into a Facebook product daily, and can monetize users by raising costs per ad, like it did this quarter.\nZuckerberg is now focused on his most audacious plans yet -- the metaverse. The company acquired virtual reality company Oculus in 2014, and plans to use its headsets to create an entirely new virtual world for users. The potential upside could be bigger than anything it's done yet.\nApple is going from strength to strength\nBy now, you might have identified a theme in the above stocks, as all are mega-cap tech companies that sold off after earnings. Against that backdrop, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is a natural fit, as shares moderately sold off after the company reported fiscal third-quarter earnings. Although its market cap is approaching $2.5 trillion, the company continues to have growth drivers.\nDespite concerns that the iPhone market was saturated, Apple grew revenue attributable to the device 50% over the prior year and boosted total revenue higher by 36%. Although Apple easily topped analyst expectations for revenue and earnings, investors reacted negatively to commentary from CEO Tim Cook that chip shortages could impact iPhone and iPad sales in the current quarter.\nWhile shortages are never ideal, in the short term this is an example of a \"good problem.\" Demand outstripping supply means your product is coveted, and it's unlikely many iPhone users will step out of its ecosystem to buy an Android. In fact, it's this sticky user base that will power Apple's next phase of growth, as Apple has been aggressive at monetizing its installed base with services and recurring subscription-based revenue.\nRevenue attributable to services grew 33% over the prior year, an acceleration from the 27% growth rate the prior quarter. During the earnings call, Cook noted the company has nearly 700 million subscribers, a 27% increase from the prior year. Ignore the short-term chip bottleneck, Apple has many growth levers to pull going forward.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":133,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9949378157,"gmtCreate":1678405335579,"gmtModify":1678405339614,"author":{"id":"4091437136269580","authorId":"4091437136269580","name":"Richpig","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a8214f9208d6f96e1dd1151d0e7660bd","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4091437136269580","authorIdStr":"4091437136269580"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":10,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9949378157","repostId":"1190296817","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":514,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9914110389,"gmtCreate":1665198357441,"gmtModify":1676537572053,"author":{"id":"4091437136269580","authorId":"4091437136269580","name":"Richpig","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a8214f9208d6f96e1dd1151d0e7660bd","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4091437136269580","authorIdStr":"4091437136269580"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Lufax(LU)$Share position ","listText":"$Lufax(LU)$Share position ","text":"$Lufax(LU)$Share position","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/c71ccc68ed5b51c18e56fa61d29db7a8","width":"1284","height":"2538"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9914110389","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":142,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9916748953,"gmtCreate":1664687761601,"gmtModify":1676537494643,"author":{"id":"4091437136269580","authorId":"4091437136269580","name":"Richpig","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a8214f9208d6f96e1dd1151d0e7660bd","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4091437136269580","authorIdStr":"4091437136269580"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Lufax(LU)$:(","listText":"$Lufax(LU)$:(","text":"$Lufax(LU)$:(","images":[{"img":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/2b5721cc0c5b141fed56befe366a5090","width":"1284","height":"2538"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9916748953","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":134,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9916743767,"gmtCreate":1664687565059,"gmtModify":1676537494609,"author":{"id":"4091437136269580","authorId":"4091437136269580","name":"Richpig","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a8214f9208d6f96e1dd1151d0e7660bd","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":1,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4091437136269580","authorIdStr":"4091437136269580"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9916743767","repostId":"1157459217","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1157459217","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1664676789,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1157459217?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2022-10-02 10:13","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"Alibaba Stock: Attractive Valuation Despite Mid-Term Headwinds","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1157459217","media":"TipRanks","summary":"Over the mid term,Alibaba’s share price has had a habit of moving in step with earnings revisions but during the past 3 months, this relationship has weakened.During the period, Alibaba’s forecast for adj EPS in FY2024 has been cut by 4%, yet the share price has dropped by 34%.Moving forward, how can this be corrected?","content":"
\n
Over the mid term, Alibaba’s (BABA)share price has had a habit of moving in step with earnings revisions but during the past 3 months, this relationship has weakened.During the period, Alibaba’s ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"lsy1606183248679","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; J.P. Morgan’sAlex Yao has an idea. The analyst believes “sentiment-driven fund flow is the current key share price driver and revenue recovery is the key determinant of market sentiment.”That is a bit of problem, then. Because Yao expects weak China consumption in the September quarter (F2Q23) to impact the revenue outlook.Since late August, Covid has once again been a disruptive force in a host of cities across China, and as such, Yao expects “limited improvement” in Alibaba’s core-core CMR (customer-management revenue) compared to the June quarter. The analyst sees the September quarter’s CMR falling by 4% from the same period last year, hardly any better than the June quarter’s 5% drop. On account of “low visibility of consumer sentiment improvement” or any relaxion of the Covid policies, the decline will continue in the December quarter, albeit at a slower pace (Yao expects a 2% year-over-year decline vs. anticipation of a positive turn previously). In contrast, given Alibaba’s firm commitment to cost-cutting and efficiency-improving measures, Yao sees “potential upside to consensus bottom-line projections.”However, that might not have enough of a positive effect right now. “Alibaba’s weakening revenue outlook in the near term could continue to weigh on the share price despite an unchanged, or even potentially better, profit outlook,” the analyst said, before summing up, “Nonetheless, we believe Alibaba’s share price is attractive on a 12-month view on 1) profit growth recovery to 20%+ in FY2024, 2) current consensus FY2024 PE of only 9x.”To this end, Yao rates BABA shares an Overweight (i.e., Buy) along with a $135 price target. Notably, COIN stock had already been slashed 80% off its November highs before its earnings release.

However, with yesterday's card that came in well below the consensus estimates, the stock has continued its downdraft. COIN stock is trading almost 18% below yesterday's close (May 10) in pre-market as investors parsed its Q1 card.

We had not been optimistic about Coinbase's thesis since our first article in February (Hold rating). We emphasized that Coinbase's highly volatile transaction revenue made it challenging to model its revenue and profitability with confidence. However, we emphasized a price target of $200 for the short-term opportunity. Accordingly, COIN stock hit our price target before continuing its downward spiral.

Notwithstanding, our price action analysis also suggests that the market makers have been trying to force a capitulation in COIN stock before forming a bottom. Therefore, a speculative opportunity could emerge after a consolidation zone has been created.

As a result, we revise our rating from Buy to Hold.
