Building a retirement portfolio worth $1 million or more doesn't happen overnight. It takes time, patience, diversification, rebalancing, and a consistent pattern of investing in great companies in both up and down markets and holding on to them for many years to accumulate those kinds of returns. That said, if you're looking for explosive businesses to add to your portfolio right now, here are two supercharged stocks with superior growth potential that could foreseeably multiply $200,000 by five times or more in the next decade and beyond.1. UpstartUpstart is dealing with a perfect storm in terms of the confluence of challenges it is up against in the current market. Driven by artificial intelligence (AI), the platform acts as a loan marketplace. It uses its proprietary model, which factors in over 1,000 data points (and not just the traditional FICO score), to determine whether to approve various types of consumer loans. Upstart partners with lending institutions nationwide, deriving most of its revenue from fees for the loans it services. So the more loan volume Upstart processes, the more money it makes. In the current environment, however, the typical process by which Upstart operates its business has faced interruptions. For one, fewer people are applying for loans right now, particularly with interest rates being so high. And because interest rates are so high, the cost that Upstart's institutional partners -- who, in the past, have bought the lion's share of all loans processed through the platform -- incur to fund these loans has led many to reduce or pause originations altogether. Upstart's model, which continues to learn and attune to the economic environment at hand, is also approving fewer loans. So with loan volume depressed and Upstart being forced to carry far more loans on its balance sheet than usual, revenue has dropped, the company is currently unprofitable, and it's had to aggressively scale back costs, including in the form of layoffs. While this is a tough moment for Upstart and its investors, I think it's far too soon to say all is lost. Case in point: Even though lending volume dropped 14% in 2022 compared to 2021, Upstart's contribution profit actually rose by almost the same amount (13%) from the prior year. Moreover, the underlying technology behind Upstart's platform -- which remains its greatest competitive advantage -- is continuing to prove its efficacy, with management noting that its model accuracy improved more in the seven months leading up to the end of 2022 than in the entire 30 months before that.Even now, with institutions scaling back loan originations, more lending partners are continuing to jump on the Upstart bandwagon, its cohort of bank and credit union partners skyrocketing 120% in the 12-month period alone. With a growing network of lending partners and Upstart's platform rapidly learning and calibrating to the current environment, this could lay the groundwork for a robust recovery in conditions where the risk of default and interest rates are lower. For risk-tolerant investors with cash to put to work right now, Upstart's current discounted price could present a timely opportunity to buy shares of a highly promising business in the early stages of growth while it's still beaten down.2. Intuitive SurgicalIntuitive Surgical has dominated the surgical robotics industry for over two decades now, ever since the approval of its flagship system, the da Vinci surgical suite. The system is used in a wide range of minimally invasive surgical procedures. The company also now sells another surgical system, called the Ion, used in lung biopsies. The adoption of surgical robotic systems within the medical community continues to increase, and it's estimated that this industry will surpass a valuation of nearly $20 billion by the year 2030. Meanwhile, as of 2021, Intuitive Surgical controlled about 80% of this global industry. Although the company is not without competition, no competitor has even come close to snagging this level of market share.Beyond the company's first-mover advantage in its industry, however, the way in which Intuitive Surgical's business is designed has enabled the company to grow revenue and profits in a wide range of business and economic environments. Beyond the initial sales of its surgical systems, the company makes recurring revenue from services such as medical provider training on how to use its products, customer support, and replacement tools and instruments that accompany its systems.Over the past 10 years, Intuitive Surgical has witnessed its revenue and earnings grow by respective clips of 175% and 97%. During that same time, the company improved its cash from operations by 70%.And investors who stayed with the stock that entire time have benefited from a total return of over 300%. Intuitive Surgical has dealt with a slowdown in procedure volume in recent quarters as COVID-19 resurgences in key markets resulted in surgery delays and cancellations. However, the company is still profitable, revenue is growing steadily, and its installed base of systems continues to grow. The company had 7,544 systems installed worldwide at the end of 2022, up 35% compared to the end of 2019. The healthcare stock has plenty of room left to run as procedure volumes normalize and adoption of its products continues to grow, both factors that could induce long-term investors to consider a position in this resilient healthcare business.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"ISRG":0.9,"UPST":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":451,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9970046886,"gmtCreate":1683760134545,"gmtModify":1683760139639,"author":{"id":"4118995891452552","authorId":"4118995891452552","name":"Agedashi","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/b387c656730b99f1adeb7cc29ae84fe3","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4118995891452552","idStr":"4118995891452552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"That's good ","listText":"That's good ","text":"That's good","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":10,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9970046886","repostId":"2334794711","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2334794711","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1683750663,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/2334794711?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-05-11 04:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Nasdaq Rallies 1% As Investors Cheer Inflation Data, Alphabet","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2334794711","media":"Reuters","summary":"(Reuters) - The Nasdaq ended Wednesday at its highest intraday level in more than eight months, boos","content":"

(Reuters) - The Nasdaq ended Wednesday at its highest intraday level in more than eight months, boosted by a slightly lower-than-expected increase in April inflation and Alphabet Inc's latest artificial intelligence rollout.

The Labor Department's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 4.9% in April from a year ago, compared with expectations of a 5% increase, raising hopes that the Federal Reserve's interest rate hiking cycle is close to an end. AAPL's forward P/E multiple has fallen to -21% below its three-year mean, and recent worries relating to the company appear to be overblown. In that respect, I view Apple's shares as deserving of a Buy rating. Why Has Apple's Share Price Dipped? In the past month, AAPL's stock price pulled back by -9.3% as compared to a -1.2% marginal decline for the S&P 500. Apple's last done share price of $129.62 as of January 6, 2023 is also -16.8% below its three-month high of $155.74 registered on October 28, 2022.I think that Apple's share price dip is attributable to the market's concerns about the App Store and iPhone. In the subsequent section, I highlight specific metrics relating to the two products and services, which explains why they have drawn investor attention.AAPL Stock Key MetricsInvestors are worried about the App Store's recent and future performance, and the risk of lower-than-expected iPhone production, and the metrics outlined below illustrate these issues.BofA Securities published a research report (not publicly available) titled \"App Store Revenue Declines Low Single Digit\" on December 1, 2022. As per SensorTower data cited in this report, revenue derived from the App Store decreased by -3.2% YoY for the period between October 1, 2022, and November 29, 2022. Specifically, a +2.6% increase in the number of App Store downloads was more than offset by a -5.7% drop in the App Store's Average Selling Price. These metrics seemed to confirm fears that consumers will reduce spending on the App Store and other Apple services in a weak economic environment.Separately, a December 13, 2022, Seeking Alpha News article cited a Bloomberg report mentioning that AAPL \"may soon allow third-party app stores on its iconic iPhones and iPads\" so as \"to comply with regulations from the European Union.\" It is natural for investors to be concerned that the App Store's future revenue might potentially decline if a significant proportion of app developers choose to bypass the App Store and offer their users the option of downloading their apps on other app stores or websites.Another key concern for investors is iPhone production. Seeking Alpha News reported on December 20, 2022, that J.P. Morgan's (JPM) sell-side analyst covering Apple's shares has reduced his or her Q1 FY 2023 (YE September 30) iPhone 14 shipment projections by four million units after considering supply chain disruptions in China due to the COVID-zero policy. The majority of Wall Street analysts also have a bearish view of Apple's iPhone sales and overall revenue in the near term judging by the change in consensus financial figures for AAPL. In the last three months, Apple's consensus Q1 FY 2023 topline was cut by -3.4%. Also, 31 of the 45 sell-side analysts covering Apple's stock made the decision to lower their respective fiscal 2023 revenue estimates for AAPL in the same time frame. The key risk is that a larger-than-expected number of consumers chose to either give up on buying a new iPhone or switched to competitors, rather than wait for the new iPhone to be made available again when supply normalizes. It is easy to understand why Apple's share price has dipped recently, after a review of the key metrics disclosed in this section of the article. Is It Fairly Valued Now?I am of the view that Apple's shares are undervalued, instead of being fairly valued, following the recent dip in its stock price.AAPL trades at 21.0 times consensus forward next twelve months' normalized P/E now, which is only slightly above its one-year forward P/E trough of 20.2 times as per S&P Capital IQ's valuation data. Furthermore, Apple's current P/E valuation multiple is a significant -21% below its three-year average P/E ratio of 26.6 times.I touch on the potential of a recovery in Apple's stock price in the next section. Will Apple Recover?I believe that AAPL's share price can recover from its recent dip, when investors realize that earlier concerns relating to the stock are overblown. With regards to the App Store, its future performance might be better than what the market feared. The App Store witnessed its first YoY revenue growth in six months, based on Sensor Tower's December 2022 data highlighted in this recent January 3, 2022, Seeking Alpha News article. This could mark an inflection point for App Store revenue, as we might have already seen the worst of App Store performance in 2H 2022 (calendar year). Given the bearish market expectations (as outlined in an earlier section of the article) for Apple's Q1 FY 2023 and full-year FY 2023 financial results, AAPL's actual Services revenue and overall top line might beat market expectations. Also, fewer iPhone users might either switch to alternative app stores or download apps from developers' websites than what investors anticipate. Based on a December 14, 2022, research report (not publicly available) titled \"App Store Competition? Bring It On\" published by Morgan Stanley (MS), slightly more than a quarter of iPhone users are \"extremely likely\" to switch away from the App Store for app downloads as per MS' consumer survey which should translate into a -4% decrease in Apple's Services revenue (or -1% contraction in overall top line). On the issue of supply chain disruptions affecting iPhone production, there are reasons to be optimistic considering short-term trends and long-term plans.A January 3, 2023 Seeking Alpha News article highlighted that Apple's key iPhone production plant in China has recovered to run at \"90% capacity\" again. Also, an earlier December 27, 2022, report (not publicly available) titled \"Improving iPhone Lead Times\" issued by Credit Suisse (CS) noted that the lead times for the new iPhone 14 models have already declined from the \"20+ days\" for the December 19 week to \"10-17 days\" for the December 26 week. In other words, supply chain headwinds for Apple have already eased to a large extent. In the long run, Apple has plans in place to further diversify its production away from China to other markets such as Vietnam and India. This should reduce AAPL's concentration risks relating to China production over time.In a nutshell, there are positive signs which suggest that Apple's shares are due for a recovery. Is AAPL Stock A Buy During The Dip?Apple is a Buy during the dip, considering recent positive developments such as App Store's December 2022 data and declining lead times for the iPhone 14 models. Moreover, AAPL's valuations have become more attractive after the recent correction. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that even in the midst of the ongoing meltdown in technology stocks, the iPhone maker has outperformed the broader indexes and many of its peers. From their peaks several months ago, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite indexes have declined 17% and 26%, respectively, while Apple stock has shed just 13%.That performance notwithstanding, there are plenty of reasons for investors to buy Apple stock and hold forever.1. It's Warren Buffett's largest holdingGiven his extraordinary track record, investors could do far worse than following in the footsteps of legendary money manager Warren Buffett. Since taking the helm of Berkshire Hathaway in 1965, the \"Oracle of Omaha\" has delivered mind-boggling returns, generating a compound annual growth rate of more than 20%. In fact, by the end of 2021, the company's overall returns clocked in at a staggering 3,641,613%.Lest there be any doubt, Apple is far and away Berkshire's largest holding. Buffett ended the second quarter with nearly 895 million shares of Apple stock, worth roughly $122 billion as of June, 30, accounting for about 41% of Berkshire's portfolio. That's quite a vote of confidence from one of the world's most successful investors.2. One billion iPhones strong -- and growingThere's no question that the release of the iconic iPhone in 2007 ushered in the modern smartphone and forever changed the way we communicate. The device's sleek design and integrated computing power took the world by storm. Now, as we await the release of the upcoming iPhone 14, Apple dominates the market, with more than 1 billion active iPhones in the wild.Rumors are swirling that the next-generation device -- which is due to be unveiled next week -- could sport some major upgrades and four new models. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives estimates that roughly 24% of iPhone owners worldwide haven't upgraded their device over the past 3.5 years. Even in the midst of the prevailing macroeconomic headwinds, this could mark the beginning of the next big product cycle for the iPhone.3. Apple is the new blackWhile the iPhone gets all the press, Apple's wearables, home products, and accessories segment -- which includes such products as Apple Watch, AirPods, AirTags, and Beats headphones -- continue to steadily attract converts. Earlier this year, noted tech analyst Horace Dediu announced that \"Apple Wearables is now [the size of] a Fortune 100 business.\" In fact, the segment has generated more revenue so far in fiscal 2022 than either the Mac or the iPad.Supply constraints and foreign exchange headwinds have weighed on the segment, which grew just 6% year over year through the first three quarters of fiscal 2022. That said, the resulting pent-up demand will eventually give way to a surge in sales. Furthermore, the company is expected to release the latest versions of its Apple Watch next week. These could include a Pro model, which could serve to supercharge sales of the popular device.4. Services: Apple's second-biggest breadwinnerLong before anyone else, CEO Tim Cook saw the potential for Apple's services segment, announcing plans in early 2017 to double its revenue over the coming four years. Fast forward to mid-2022, and services has come into its own.The segment, which includes Apple Music, the App Store, Apple Pay, and Apple TV+ (among others), just set a June quarter record, generating 19% of Apple's total revenue. Services also saw revenue records in each major category, including all-time records for Music, Cloud Services, Apple Care, and Payment Services.Apple TV+ began as something of an industry joke, with just eight programs and a documentary. But nobody's laughing now. Apple has netted more than 250 awards and over 1,100 nominations for its programming, including 52 Emmy Award nominations in 2022.5. Dividends: The gift that keeps on givingApple began paying a dividend again in 2012 and has amassed quite an impressive track record. The quarterly payout began at a split-adjusted $0.095 and has soared 143% in just ten years. This includes Apple's announcement earlier this year, which boosted the quarterly payout to $0.23 per share, an increase of 5% for 2022. That likely won't be the last increase as Apple is using less than 15% of its profits to fund the payout, giving the company plenty of opportunity for future increases.6. Fewer shares = a bigger slice of the Apple pieAnother highlight of Apple's shareholder-friendly policies is the company's strong share-repurchase plan. Apple began buying back shares in earnest in early 2013 and has never taken its foot off the gas. As a result, with each passing quarter, Apple shareholders own a larger share of the company. In fact, over the past 10 years, Apple's share count has declined by nearly 39%.Data by YCharts. As an example, the company retired roughly 1% of its shares in its fiscal third quarter and has no plans of slowing down. Earlier this year, Apple announced that it added another $90 billion to its existing share-repurchase program.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":633,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9940393026,"gmtCreate":1677680295966,"gmtModify":1677680300633,"author":{"id":"4118995891452552","authorId":"4118995891452552","name":"Agedashi","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/b387c656730b99f1adeb7cc29ae84fe3","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4118995891452552","idStr":"4118995891452552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"steady lah alphabet!","listText":"steady lah alphabet!","text":"steady lah alphabet!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://ttm.financial/post/9940393026","repostId":"1155741518","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1155741518","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1677679595,"share":"https://ttm.financial/m/news/1155741518?lang=&edition=fundamental","pubTime":"2023-03-01 22:06","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Is Alphabet Stock a Buy Now?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1155741518","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Google has built a big moat around its business, though, and this will be a tough business to break.","content":"
\n
KEY POINTSInvestors fear the disruption Google is facing from artificial intelligence. It's true that advertising revenue is already struggling, so there's some weakness in the business.Google has ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; But that may be overlooking what a strong business Google is right now. And I think this could be a generational buying opportunity for an amazing business.Advertising is downBefore we get to the good news, the reality is that Alphabet's biggest moneymakers were actually down to end 2022. Fourth-quarter revenue in search fell 1.6% to $42.6 billion, YouTube revenue dropped 7.8% to $8.0 billion, and Google Network fell 8.9% to $8.5 billion. Some of the declines can be attributed to companies spending less on advertising, but the impact of Apple's app tracking transparency (ATT) is also being felt.On the positive side, Google Cloud revenue was up from $5.5 billion a year ago to $7.3 billion. That offset losses in the ad-supported businesses, but there is a fundamental weakness in ads right now.So is a declining ad business a problem for Alphabet? It depends on how you view competition.Competition is coming, sort ofOver the last few weeks, we've heard a lot about the looming disruption from ChatGPT, an AI-powered Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Bing, and other AI tools. Alphabet was so scared that it unveiled a product called Bard that definitely wasn't ready for prime time. While these products are potential competitors, let's not race out and call Alphabet's business dead yet. Google is still the default search engine on the vast majority of smartphones and browsers today, and it's ingrained in how many of us work. On top of that, advertisers know how to use Google's tools and generate returns on their investments. It's not clear (yet) how AI models would be monetized by advertisers in a similar way.Alphabet's moat is still enormousIt's hard to overstate just how good Alphabet's business moat is around its core search product. The company owns Android, where it can make Google the default search engine and Google Maps the default map. YouTube is arguably the most valuable business in streaming today. And let's not forget Gmail, Chrome, and the Google Play Store, which are all moats around the core search business. It's easy to say that Google is weaker than it's been at any point in the last decade given the threat from AI, and that's probably right. But any disruptive forces coming for Google and Alphabet will have to navigate the company's moats and beat any response Google may already have waiting in the wings. That's a tall challenge for any company. The price is rightThe market's fear that Google will be disrupted has given us a buying opportunity we've never seen for Alphabet. The company trades for just 19.6 times free cash flow, and that's before accounting for the $114 billion in cash on the balance sheet.Alphabet stock is a better buy than I've seen in a long time. I think the current down environment for advertising is a short-term blip and the company will return to growth (albeit slower than in the past) in the next few years. Getting the stock for a price this cheap seals the deal.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GOOGL":0.9,"GOOG":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":545,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9918133381,"gmtCreate":1664330700643,"gmtModify":1676537434744,"author":{"id":"4118995891452552","authorId":"4118995891452552","name":"Agedashi","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/b387c656730b99f1adeb7cc29ae84fe3","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4118995891452552","idStr":"4118995891452552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"StarHub? the optimism may imply their business is doing well.

Another method is to search for cheap, value stocks that may have been unjustly beaten down due to poor sentiment.

Worries over high inflation and rising interest rates have pushed many stocks to their 52-week lows.

And for income-seeking investors, a bonus is that many of these stocks also pay out a dividend.

Here are four companies that are scraping their year-low that you can consider adding to your buy watchlist.

Frasers Property Limited (SGX: TQ5)

Frasers Property Limited, or FPL, is a property development and investment company that owns more than 1,000 properties with assets under management worth S$40.3 billion as of 30 September 2021.

FPL’s share price has declined by 11.5% in the past year to hit a 52-week low of S$1.

The property giant reported a resilient outlook during its fiscal 2022’s third quarter business update ending 30 June 2022.

Its Singapore residential launches have sold well despite cooling measures introduced by the government in December 2021.

For Riviere, FPL sold 65% of the units with target completion in the first half of fiscal 2023 (FY2023).

Planning is now in progress for Sky Eden @ Bedok for 158 residential units and 12 commercial units with a sales launch by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, over in Australia, the group secured a 2.5 million square foot site that can yield 2,150 lots of residential units.

FPL paid out a dividend of S$0.02 last year, giving its shares a trailing dividend yield of 2%.

Boustead Singapore Limited (SGX: F9D)

Boustead Singapore Limited, or BSL, is a conglomerate with four core divisions – energy-related engineering, real estate solutions, geospatial technology, and healthcare.

The group’s share price has slid to a 52-week low of S$0.84 recently, down 13.8% in the past year.

BSL reported a downbeat set of earnings for its FY2022 ending 31 March 2022 due to rising geopolitical tensions and the pandemic.

Revenue dipped by 8% year on year to S$631.8 million while net profit plunged 73% year on year to S$30.6 million.

After adjusting for one-off and exceptional items, net profit still saw a 28% year on year decline to S$32.3 million.

Despite the weaker performance, the group still declared a S$0.025 final dividend, bringing the FY2022 dividend to S$0.04, unchanged from the total ordinary dividends declared in the prior year.

The trailing dividend yield for its shares stands at 4.8%.

IHH Healthcare Berhad (SGX: Q0F)

IHH is an integrated healthcare provider that owns a portfolio of hospital brands such as Acibadem, Mount Elizabeth, Gleneagles, Fortis, Pantai, and Parkway.

The group employs more than 65,000 staff and is present in 10 countries.

IHH’s share price has fallen by close to 14% to S$1.85 after touching a 52-week low of S$1.79 are several ways you can go about searching for suitable investments. One is to target growth stocks that are breaching new highs as the optimism may imply their business is doing well.Another method is to search for cheap, value stocks that may have been unjustly beaten down due to poor sentiment.Worries over high inflation and rising interest rates have pushed many stocks to their 52-week lows. And for income-seeking investors, a bonus is that many of these stocks also pay out a dividend. Here are four companies that are scraping their year-low that you can consider adding to your buy watchlist.Frasers Property Limited (SGX: TQ5)Frasers Property Limited, or FPL, is a property development and investment company that owns more than 1,000 properties with assets under management worth S$40.3 billion as of 30 September 2021.FPL’s share price has declined by 11.5% in the past year to hit a 52-week low of S$1.The property giant reported a resilient outlook during its fiscal 2022’s third quarter business update ending 30 June 2022.Its Singapore residential launches have sold well despite cooling measures introduced by the government in December 2021.For Riviere, FPL sold 65% of the units with target completion in the first half of fiscal 2023 (FY2023).Planning is now in progress for Sky Eden @ Bedok for 158 residential units and 12 commercial units with a sales launch by the end of this year.Meanwhile, over in Australia, the group secured a 2.5 million square foot site that can yield 2,150 lots of residential units.FPL paid out a dividend of S$0.02 last year, giving its shares a trailing dividend yield of 2%.Boustead Singapore Limited (SGX: F9D)Boustead Singapore Limited, or BSL, is a conglomerate with four core divisions – energy-related engineering, real estate solutions, geospatial technology, and healthcare. The group’s share price has slid to a 52-week low of S$0.84 recently, down 13.8% in the past year.BSL reported a downbeat set of earnings for its FY2022 ending 31 March 2022 due to rising geopolitical tensions and the pandemic.Revenue dipped by 8% year on year to S$631.8 million while net profit plunged 73% year on year to S$30.6 million. After adjusting for one-off and exceptional items, net profit still saw a 28% year on year decline to S$32.3 million.Despite the weaker performance, the group still declared a S$0.025 final dividend, bringing the FY2022 dividend to S$0.04, unchanged from the total ordinary dividends declared in the prior year. The trailing dividend yield for its shares stands at 4.8%.IHH Healthcare Berhad (SGX: Q0F)IHH is an integrated healthcare provider that owns a portfolio of hospital brands such as Acibadem, Mount Elizabeth, Gleneagles, Fortis, Pantai, and Parkway. The group employs more than 65,000 staff and is present in 10 countries.IHH’s share price has fallen by close to 14% to S$1.85 after touching a 52-week low of S$1.79 recently. The healthcare giant reported a respectable set of earnings for its fiscal 2022’s first half (1H2022).Revenue inched up 4% year on year to RM 8.5 billion while net profit climbed by 33% year on year to RM 1.3 billion. In Malaysia, the group agreed to sell its medical education arm, International Medical University, for an enterprise value of RM 1.35 billion. Its Pantai Hospital Penang is also constructing a new medical block that should be ready by the end of 2024.IHH paid out a first and final dividend of S$0.0193 last year, giving its shares a trailing dividend yield of 1%.StarHub Ltd (SGX: CC3)StarHub is a telecommunication (telco) group that provides mobile, internet broadband and cable TV services. The telco’s share price has dropped by 8% in the last year to hit a 52-week low of S$1.12.StarHub announced that total revenue for 1H2022 increased 8.7% year on year to S$1.1 billion. However, operating and net profit declined by 8.6% and 10.3% year on year, respectively.Despite the weaker earnings, the telco still generated S$61.2 million of free cash flow.An interim dividend of S$0.025 was declared.Together with its final dividend of S$0.039 forFY2021, the trailing 12-month dividend stood at S$0.064.Shares of StarHub provide a stock market sell-off in 2022 has tanked the share prices of some of the world's most valuable companies, creating an excellent time to invest in growth stocks like Amazon (AMZN) and Apple (AAPL). These companies are known as leaders of their respective industries, yet have watched their stocks suffer double-digit declines over the past year.Regardless, Amazon and Apple continue to have great long-term outlooks, making both of their stocks worth an investment. However, if you're only looking to add one stock to your portfolio, you might wonder which is the better buy. So, let's assess.1. AmazonAmazon has come a long way since starting out as an online book retailer in 1994, expanding into several lucrative industries. The company's stock has plummeted 46% since January amid macroeconomic headwinds. However, its diverse business has continued to see revenue growth in 2022, a promising sign for its future. In the third quarter of 2022, Amazon's revenue rose 14.7% year over year to $127.1 billion, with operating income coming in at $2.5 billion. In its e-commerce business, the company's North American segment increased by 20% to $78.8 billion, and its international revenue decreased by 5% to $27.7 billion. However, its earnings abroad primarily suffered from changes in foreign exchange rates, resulting in a strong dollar. Thus, Amazon's international revenue rose 12%, excluding exchange fluctuations. The bright spot of Amazon's year amid an economic downturn has, no doubt, been its cloud computing business, Amazon Web Services (AWS). The platform's segment made up 100% of the company's operating income in Q3 2022, with revenue increasing 27% year over year to $20.5 billion. While a potential recession in 2023 could lead to further declines in its e-commerce business, AWS's continued growth over the last year proves it will likely continue flourishing no matter the economic climate and prop the company up through a possibly challenging year. However, according to the Federal Reserve, consumer spending has risen for the last three quarters. If this continues on its current trajectory, Amazon could see a return to operating income in its e-commerce business next year, along with continued growth in AWS.2. AppleDespite falling 21% year to date, Apple stock has risen 228% over the last five years, making it one of the best growth companies out there. By comparison, Amazon's stock has increased by 55% in five years. In a year plagued by tech industry declines, Apple has reported strong sales for its products. In the fourth quarter of 2022, the company's iPhone revenue increased by 9.6% to $42.6 billion despite worldwide smartphone shipments decreasing by 9.7%, according to IDC.Similarly, the company's Mac segment reported growth of 25.3% year over year, hitting $11.5 billion, while worldwide PC shipments fell 15%.Apple has attracted investor concern over the last month because of its dependence on China for iPhone production as the smartphones made up 52% of the company's revenue in its fiscal 2022. COVID-19 restrictions in the country have strained production and motivated Apple to begin diversifying its iPhone manufacturing. The company is now making a portion of its iPhone 14s in India, with JP Morgan Chase estimating that about 25% of all Apple's products will be produced there by 2025. It could take years for Apple to move out of China completely; however, that doesn't dampen its long-term prospects. In addition to diversifying its product manufacturing, the company has a swiftly growing services business that could alleviate pressure from its iPhone segment. As Apple's second-biggest segment in its fiscal 2022, services revenue rose 14% year over year to $78.1 billion. By contrast, iPhone revenue increased by 7% during the year.Regarding key metrics for Amazon and Apple, Amazon's price-to-earnings ratio is at 84, rising 27% in the last year. Meanwhile, Apple's is about 23 after declining 24% since last December. In terms of free cash flow, Amazon's stood at a negative 26.3 billion as of Sept. 30, while Apple's came in at $111.44 billion.Amazon continues to have an excellent outlook over the long term. However, Apple has fared far better in 2022, and the stock currently offers more value. Additionally, the company's ability to keep up stellar demand for its products in a poor economic climate makes its stock undoubtedly a more reliable and better buy.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":1,"AMZN":1}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":512,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":9914053840,"gmtCreate":1665142419081,"gmtModify":1676537563415,"author":{"id":"4118995891452552","authorId":"4118995891452552","name":"Agedashi","avatar":"https://community-static.tradeup.com/news/b387c656730b99f1adeb7cc29ae84fe3","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4118995891452552","idStr":"4118995891452552"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"It's now. Nonetheless, there are risks involved with this strategy. Currencies have the tendency to lose value over time, which particularly has happened more rapidly over the last two years. Money printing was a must to stimulate world economies and to avoid complete chaos. Therefore, holding cash can be unnoticeably dangerous if you hold it for longer than is needed. Furthermore, timing the bottom of a market is extremely difficult and most will miss the train. Dollar cost averaging into the highest quality businesses, which are trading at historical low valuations, could be the play for you.

Large caps are struggling

The S&P 500 (SP500) has been faring in bear territory, and as a result the high weighted well-known American companies in the index have also been retracting from all-time highs. Bottom fishing season has begun, therefore it is time to see which fish you favor.

Data by YCharts

Apple (AAPL) is the only company in the list that has been able to keep up with the S&P 500 and all the others have been underperforming. Historically, the valuation of Alphabet is now down to a 9-year low. If the long-term fundamentals of the business remain strong, this could be a great entry point for a position in Alphabet.

Data by YCharts

Shareholders of Alphabet can now enjoy a higher than normal free cash flow yield of 5.01%. In the past Alphabet has been trading at a premium yield compared to Apple (AAPL) and Microsoft (MSFT). It is likely that the bearish outlook on advertising spending, due to recession fears, has caused the higher free cash flow yield for both Meta Platforms (META) and Alphabet (meaning the price has gone down). On the other hand, Amazon's (AMZN) free cash flow took a deep dive lately as a result of expenses running up to make and transport consumer goods.

Data by YCharts

Alphabet has a long standing track record of 20% revenue growth annually. If a recession hits the economy, a decrease in advertising spending will be imminent. Families and businesses will cut costs as jobs and profitability are on the line. In 10 years, people will still be watching YouTube, using Google Maps and everything else. The company is surrounded by a great moat, which makes Alphabet an all-weather buy. Dollar cost averaging into the highest quality businesses, which are trading at historical low valuations, could be the play for you.Large caps are strugglingThe S&P 500 (SP500) has been faring in bear territory, and as a result the high weighted well-known American companies in the index have also been retracting from all-time highs. Bottom fishing season has begun, therefore it is time to see which fish you favor.Data by YChartsApple (AAPL) is the only company in the list that has been able to keep up with the S&P 500 and all the others have been underperforming. In this article the focus will lay on one of the underperformers Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL), better known for their platform Google.Data by YChartsThe best of both worlds: value and growthThe dream of any investor is buying a growing quality business as cheap as possible, because the price you pay will define your future returns. Historically, the valuation of Alphabet is now down to a 9-year low. If the long-term fundamentals of the business remain strong, this could be a great entry point for a position in Alphabet.Data by YChartsShareholders of Alphabet can now enjoy a higher than normal free cash flow yield of 5.01%.
