Deep News05-29

Novo Nordisk India has informed Bloomberg in a written response that India's Central Drugs Standard Control Organization has approved the popular weight-loss drug Wegovy for marketing, targeting adolescents aged 12 and above who weigh over 60 kilograms (132 pounds).

The company highlighted that childhood obesity is an increasingly serious issue, representing a major public health challenge with potential long-term health risks. The use of this medication must be assessed and determined by healthcare professionals.

The pharmaceutical firm also noted that the dosage and pricing of the drug for adolescents will remain consistent with the adult version.
