Hang Seng Index Opens Higher, Technology and Semiconductor Stocks Lead Gains

U.S. stock markets showed positive performance on Tuesday, with the latest inflation data coming in significantly below expectations, easing market concerns about interest rate hikes and boosting overall market sentiment. All three major indices closed higher. The U.S. dollar weakened, the yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to around 4.58%, gold prices rebounded from lows, while oil prices initially rose before retreating.



Market Open Overview

Hong Kong's three major stock indices opened higher collectively today. The Hang Seng Index opened up 0.87% at 24,551.34 points, the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 0.78%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 0.61%.



Sector Performance

Technology stocks saw broad gains, with Lenovo Group rising more than 3% and TENCENT up over 2%. The optical communications sector was broadly higher, with YOFC surging more than 14%. PCB concept stocks were active, with Kingboard Laminates Holdings Ltd climbing over 5%. Semiconductor stocks opened higher, with GigaDevice advancing more than 7%. Gold stocks generally rose, with Lingbao Gold up over 3%.
