BYD has announced its "Flash Charging China" strategy during the launch event for its second-generation blade battery and flash charging technology. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Group, stated in his speech that the company is undertaking large-scale construction of flash charging stations across the country. As of March 5, BYD has already built 4,239 flash charging stations, with a target of establishing 20,000 such stations by the end of 2026.
According to Wang, the 20,000 flash charging stations will be divided into two categories. The first category includes flash charging stations integrated into existing public charging facilities. BYD aims to complete 18,000 of these stations by the end of 2026, leveraging current infrastructure to accelerate deployment. The second category comprises 2,000 flash charging stations along highways, which will cover nearly one-third of highway service areas by the end of 2026, addressing charging concerns for long-distance travel. The first batch of 1,000 highway flash charging stations is scheduled to be completed before the May Day holiday.
