Management changes have been announced for UOB (China) Ltd and UOB's Hong Kong branch.
On June 8th, Singapore-headquartered UOB stated that current Hong Kong Branch Chief Executive, Zheng Jun, will assume the roles of Country Head and Chief Executive Officer for UOB China, succeeding Foo Mow Sang who is retiring this year. Current UOB (Korea) Regional Head, Dong Qingxian, will succeed Zheng Jun as Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Branch. These appointments are effective from July 1, 2026.
According to her biography, Zheng Jun possesses over 20 years of banking experience in Mainland China and Hong Kong. She joined UOB China in 2018 as Head of Wholesale Banking, responsible for managing corporate banking, commercial banking, financial institutions, structured trade and commodity finance, transaction banking, and investment banking businesses. In March 2024, she took up the position of Chief Executive Officer for UOB's Hong Kong Branch. Prior to joining UOB, Zheng Jun held various management roles in wholesale and investment banking at a multinational bank. She graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a bachelor's degree in International Finance.
UOB indicated that in her new role, Zheng Jun will have overall responsibility for UOB China's business and operations, driving and implementing key strategic initiatives, and continuing to expand cross-border service capabilities. She will also further strengthen the foundation for UOB China's development, supporting companies in their regional business expansion.
UOB China is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UOB, having operated in Mainland China for over 40 years. Headquartered in Shanghai, its business network covers major economic regions, providing comprehensive wholesale banking and financial market services. Leveraging the group's regional network, UOB China serves clients' cross-border financial needs, facilitating trade and investment flows between China and ASEAN.
Dong Qingxian has more than three decades of banking experience covering Mainland China, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Korea, and ASEAN markets. He joined UOB in 2010 and led the Hong Kong Branch's Institutional Banking business for a decade, responsible for client relationships, as well as investment banking, transaction banking, client support services, and client portfolio management. In 2021, Dong Qingxian was appointed Regional Head for UOB (Korea).
