BYD Electronics (00285) issued its 2025 Sustainability Report outlining new carbon-neutral ambitions, upgraded ESG governance and expanded clean-technology revenue. Key disclosures follow:
Governance and Strategy • A Board-level Strategy & Sustainable Development Committee now directs ESG policy, while ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications cover 93.3% of operating sites. • Material climate risks are benchmarked against IPCC scenarios; policy and market transition risks, plus extreme-weather physical risks, are ranked highest.
Climate Targets and 2025 Progress • Carbon-neutral value chain pledged by 2045; own-operation carbon-intensity to fall 50% from the 2023 baseline by 2030. • 2025 operational carbon-intensity fell 9.58% versus 2023; Scope 1+2 emissions were 1.84 million tCO₂e. • Green electricity and certificates covered 61.16% of purchased power (691.08 million kWh of green power and 1.38 billion kWh of certificates). • Energy-saving projects cut consumption by 3,907 tce, exceeding the annual target by 9%.
Clean-Technology Business • Clean-tech revenue contributed 74.7% of total sales, led by lightweight green materials (57.0%), hybrid/EV electronics (13.7%) and energy-storage solutions (2.6%). • R&D investment reached RMB 4.47 billion, supporting AI-enabled manufacturing and liquid-cooling server products. • The group operates nine R&D centres and 252 laboratories, and holds 8,279 granted patents.
Supply-Chain Oversight • All production-material suppliers must hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and related certificates; audit coverage reached 100%. • Conflict-minerals due-diligence covered 1,297 qualified suppliers with a 100% response rate; 65.19% of identified smelters are RMAP-conformant.
Workforce and Safety • Headcount stood at 165,476 (39% female). • 1,808 staff were promoted in 2025; women accounted for 33% of promotions. • ISO 45001 coverage reached 93.3% of sites; the KSI safety indicator was 4.41 with zero fatalities reported. • 1,185 emergency drills involved 228,980 participants; an AI-based EHS platform flagged 7,559 hazards, achieving full rectification.
Community & Philanthropy • RMB 1 million donated for Tibet earthquake relief and HKD 10 million for Hong Kong fire victims. • A RMB 3 billion education-charity programme is planned; 22 employees received higher-education sponsorships in 2025.
Awards • The company received 32 supplier awards, HR Asia’s “Best Companies to Work for in Asia” and national-level green-factory recognition.
