Boyaa Interactive (00434) has published its interim results for the three and six months ended June 30, 2026, revealing a notable uptick in revenue during the first half of the year.
For the second quarter of 2026, the group recorded revenue of HK$125 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 12.94%. Gross profit reached HK$90.2 million, up 21.25% compared with the same period last year. The group posted a loss attributable to owners of the company of HK$312 million for the quarter, translating to a loss per share of 42.64 HK cents.
Looking at the full first half of 2026, revenue rose to HK$258 million, representing a growth of 16.05% year-on-year. Gross profit climbed 22.45% to HK$186 million. However, the company recorded a loss attributable to owners of HK$792 million for the six-month period, with a loss per share of 107.88 HK cents.
The company attributed its performance to a revenue structure comprising online gaming income, digital asset appreciation gains, and other revenue streams. Online gaming revenue stood at approximately HK$253 million for the first half of 2026, an increase of about 16.6% from the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, the group also generated gains from value-added management of its digital assets, adding a fresh growth driver to overall revenue. Digital asset appreciation gains reached around HK$3.8 million for the period, down roughly 15.9% year-on-year, reflecting the inherent volatility of digital asset market performance.
Due to a decline in Bitcoin prices during the first half of 2026, the fair value of the group's digital assets as of June 30, 2026, fell compared with the fair value recorded at December 31, 2025. This resulted in an unaudited non-IFRS adjusted loss of approximately HK$790 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026, in contrast to an unaudited non-IFRS adjusted profit of about HK$240 million for the corresponding period in 2025.
Excluding one-off non-operating factors such as fair value fluctuations of financial assets including digital assets and equity investment partnerships, the group achieved an unaudited non-IFRS adjusted profit of roughly HK$98.2 million for the first half of 2026, an increase of approximately 72.0% year-on-year, driven primarily by higher online gaming revenue compared with the same period last year.
