Shanghai-based Conant Optical published its fifth Environmental, Social and Governance Report, covering operations from 1 January to 31 December 2025 and approved by the Board on 30 March 2026.
Environmental Performance • Total greenhouse-gas emissions reached 33,992.64 tCO₂e (Scope 1: 538.31 tCO₂e; Scope 2: 33,454.33 tCO₂e). Emission intensity fell to 0.16 tCO₂e per RMB10,000 of revenue and 0.41 tCO₂e per square metre. • Electricity usage was 67.12 million kWh, including 4.07 million kWh generated by rooftop photovoltaic systems at the Shanghai and Jiangsu plants. Waste-heat recovery supplied 5,674 tonnes of high-temperature water, cutting power costs by RMB0.27 million. • Water consumption decreased 16.44 % year-on-year to 433,050 m³, aided by online monitoring and closed-loop cooling. • Non-hazardous waste totalled 842.54 tonnes; the Shanghai site obtained “Waste-Free Factory” Grade B certification. • Air-emission metrics stood at 795.67 kg of NOₓ, 2.09 kg of SOₓ and 57.51 kg of particulate matter. No environmental violations or penalties were recorded.
Operational Highlights • A US$4.00 million automated RX lens line was commissioned to expand customised production. • All products are manufactured under ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 systems and carry CE, UKCA and FDA certifications; no product recalls occurred in 2025. • Customer-service satisfaction reached 100 %, while formal complaints (two cases) accounted for 0.21 % of shipments and were fully resolved.
Supply-Chain Management • The company worked with 540 suppliers (532 domestic, eight overseas); 100 % of 326 assessed suppliers met quality, environmental and social standards. • Anti-corruption training covered 12 directors and 70 employees, with no corruption cases reported.
Human Capital • Headcount totalled 2,890 (51 % male, 49 % female); turnover was 31.83 %. • There were zero work-related fatalities and zero lost-day injuries over the past three years. • All employees received training; average hours were six for frontline staff and managers, 30 for senior management.
Community Engagement • Charitable donations reached RMB0.41 million, focused on eye-health education and screenings for students. • Employee volunteers (595 participants) contributed 270 service hours to community programmes.
Governance Structure A three-tier ESG governance framework is in place: the Board oversees strategy; an executive-level ESG Working Group manages implementation; and operational departments execute data collection, risk control and disclosure.
Conant Optical’s report complies with Hong Kong Exchange ESG Code (Appendix C2) and adopts select TCFD recommendations, with plans to refine Scope 3 emission disclosures and climate-scenario analysis in future reports.
