On May 2, Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Corp., announced that lock-in orders for the new SU7 model had exceeded 70,000 units.
Emerging automakers have released their vehicle delivery data for April, with most companies reporting year-on-year sales growth.
LEAPMOTOR retained the top position with over 70,000 deliveries, leading by a significant margin. Xiaomi Corp., Li Auto, Xpeng Group, Deepal Automobile, and Zeekr all reported deliveries exceeding 30,000 units.
In April, LEAPMOTOR delivered 71,387 vehicles, setting a new monthly sales record. This represents a 73.9% increase compared to the same period last year and a 42.7% increase from the previous month. Since March 2025, LEAPMOTOR has been the monthly sales leader among emerging automakers, with the exception of January this year. On the same day, the company launched a promotional campaign offering comprehensive benefits of up to 56,680 yuan across its entire model lineup.
Xiaomi Corp. reported April deliveries of over 30,000 units, a month-on-month increase of approximately 50%, marking the highest growth rate for the year. In the first quarter, cumulative deliveries reached about 80,000 units, bringing the total for the January to April period to 109,000 vehicles, an 11% year-on-year increase. The company stated that the April delivery performance reflects continued acceleration in production ramp-up and supply chain operations, with significant conversion of orders following the launch of the new SU7 model.
According to the full-year 2025 performance announcement released by Xiaomi Corp. on March 24, the company achieved total revenue of 457.3 billion yuan, a 25.0% year-on-year increase. Revenue from the innovative business segment, including smart electric vehicles and AI, reached 106.1 billion yuan, a surge of 223.8%, surpassing the 100-billion-yuan mark for the first time. For the full year 2025, Xiaomi Corp. delivered 411,000 vehicles and achieved an annual profit. The company has set a delivery target of 550,000 vehicles for 2026.
Xiaomi Corp. Appoints First Chief Technology Officer for Automotive Division
On April 17, Xiaomi Corp. announced two key appointments: Hu Zhengnan was appointed Vice President of the Group and Chief Technology Officer of the Automotive Division, while Song Gang was named Vice President and Chief of Staff of the Automotive Division.
This marks the first establishment of a CTO position since the automotive division was announced in 2021. Public records indicate that Hu Zhengnan has served as a partner at Shunwei Investment and an advisor to Xiaomi Corp.'s automotive business for the past five years. Previously, he founded the well-known Shanghai Longchuang Automotive Design Company and held positions at several automakers, leading the development of multiple popular vehicle models with extensive experience in vehicle architecture and product design.
In contrast, Song Gang brings a more international professional background, having worked at SAIC-GM, Ford Motor Company, and Tesla. He is widely recognized as an expert in supply chain and manufacturing management. Prior to joining Xiaomi Corp., Song served as Senior Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain at Envision Energy. The research and development team for Xiaomi Corp.'s automotive division now numbers nearly 10,000 people.
