FOSUN INTL (00656) shares climbed nearly 8% in Hong Kong trading, with the stock last up 5.8% at HK$5.015, recording a turnover of HK$50.39 million.

The company recently issued a positive profit alert, forecasting a net profit attributable to shareholders of between 1.5 billion and 1.8 billion yuan for the first half of the year, representing a significant increase of 127% to 172% year-on-year.

Citi noted that the midpoint of this guidance range equates to approximately 54% of its current full-year 2026 earnings forecast, or about 66% of the market consensus for 2026. The bank believes that the higher-than-expected earnings could drive near-term share price performance for FOSUN INTL.
