Beijing's market regulator has launched formal investigations into four online travel and accommodation booking platforms, according to an announcement made today (the 19th). The actions follow a preliminary review and are aligned with the directives of the State Administration for Market Regulation.
The probes target Hangzhou Taomei Aviation Service Co., Tongcheng Network Technology Co., Tujia Online Information Technology (Tianjin) Co., and Beijing Sankuai Information Technology Co. These companies are suspected of violating specific business conduct regulations.
Authorities are basing their inquiries on the Anti-Unfair Competition Law and the E-Commerce Law of the People's Republic of China, among other relevant legal statutes. The investigation marks a significant step in regulatory oversight of the digital travel sector in the capital.
