An instructor holds a control terminal, demonstrating the complete process of robot startup, parameter debugging, and command execution to a circle of students. This is the robot operation training class of Hongqiao Town's "Skills Station" initiative—a public-interest skills training program accessible within 15 minutes, opening a door for residents to enter the "gig economy" of robotics.
Guided by the Minhang District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the Minhang District Employment Promotion Center, the Hongqiao Town Community Affairs Reception Service Center is leveraging the "15-minute Employment Service Circle" community employment stations. In response to market demand, it has made robot operation the flagship course for this year's "Skills Station." The course is open to various groups within the area, constructing a complete service chain from skill training to employment. By providing professional, hands-on skill development, it helps community residents achieve income growth through employment.
From "Distant Observation" to "Hands-On Control"
"I used to see robots at exhibitions and just thought they were novel, but I never imagined I could operate one myself," said Xiao Chen, a 23-year-old recent mechanical engineering graduate who signed up for the course as soon as Hongqiao Town launched the robot operation program. "The instructor first explained the basic structure and working principles, then guided us step-by-step on safe operation—from startup checks to anti-collision settings and emergency stops. The Hongqiao Town Skills Station not only teaches robot control skills but also builds a comprehensive "training-certification-employment" service chain. Upon completion, trainees receive a certificate from the Hongqiao Town Skills Station.
