PONY-W (02026) opened sharply higher, gaining over 6%. As of writing, the stock was up 6.29% to HKD 123.4, with a turnover of HKD 765,100. Recently, Wang Haojun, Co-founder and CFO of Pony.ai, revealed in an interview that, supported by the large-scale deployment of its 7th generation Robotaxi, the company has achieved profitability per vehicle (positive Unit Economics) in Guangzhou, with average daily revenue per vehicle reaching RMB 299. By the end of 2025, the company's fleet size is projected to surpass 1,000 vehicles, with a target to expand to 3,000 vehicles by 2026 and a long-term plan to reach an operational scale of 100,000 vehicles by 2030. The core support for achieving per-vehicle profitability in the Guangzhou market stems from the technological breakthroughs and cost optimizations of the 7th generation Robotaxi. China Merchants Securities pointed out that PONY-W is a pioneer in the L4 autonomous driving field, with its technology and commercial capabilities forming a strong moat. The company, leveraging its world model and virtual driver technology, has deep expertise in the L4 domain and has achieved substantial breakthroughs in commercial applications, particularly the milestone of achieving positive unit economics for its Robotaxi service in Guangzhou in the third quarter of last year. The institution believes that with its first-mover advantage and industry position, Pony.ai holds a significant market share in both autonomous ride-hailing services and autonomous trucking. As the deployment of the 7th generation vehicles accelerates and the fleet size expands, this robust growth momentum is expected to continue.
