At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai, which runs from July 17 to 20, renowned actor Huang Xiaoming shared his views on the impact of AI on film and television production.

He noted that the diversification of viewing platforms has made traditional, single-format production methods insufficient. AI, he said, is reducing production costs and introducing greater flexibility into content creation. As an example, he cited his own IP project, I Sweep Garbage in a Post-Apocalyptic World, which has been adapted into a television series. The production combines live-action filming with AI-generated visual effects to realize scenes from the novel that were previously impossible to film.

Huang stated, "This is undoubtedly the future. For our film and television industry, it's actually a positive development. We can now use AI to bring to life the visuals we once could only imagine but never film."
