During a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Musk reiterated that Tesla is on track to potentially begin selling Optimus robots to the public by the end of next year.
Musk stated, "Humanoid robot technology will advance rapidly. We currently have some Tesla Optimus robots performing simple tasks in factories. Possibly later this year... by the end of this year, I believe they will be capable of handling more complex tasks.
However, they will still be deployed in industrial environments. Perhaps at some point next year... I estimate that by the end of next year, we will be able to start selling humanoid robots to the public.
By that time, we can be confident that its reliability is very high, its safety is very high, and its range of functions is also very broad. Essentially, you can have it do anything."
