Former JPMorgan private banker Yvonne Leung has rejoined HSBC after more than two decades, taking on the role of Head of Asia Multi-Asset Specialists within the asset management division. Leung expressed on social media, "I look forward to collaborating with one of the largest and most accomplished multi-asset investment teams in the region. Under the leadership of Yiğit Onat, I am confident we will further expand our footprint across Asia." Leung originally joined JPMorgan in August 2016 as an Executive Director and Portfolio Specialist. From December 2020, she served as Head of Managed Solutions for JPMorgan Private Bank in Asia. In March of this year, reports indicated her departure from JPMorgan, with Leung noting she would announce her next move in due course. Leung began her financial career at Citibank in September 2001, moving to HSBC Private Bank three years later. In 2010, she joined Goldman Sachs as an Executive Director in the Private Wealth Management Portfolio Management Group. Leung has previously highlighted that geopolitical shifts are making diversified investment strategies essential, advising investors to broaden their portfolios by treating Asian equities and gold as complementary tools. She noted that while Asian stocks offer compelling valuations and strong earnings growth, gold remains resilient amid geopolitical pressures, positioning both as key pillars for a diversified portfolio.
