Hong Kong Stock Market Opens Higher as Tech Stocks Gain and Clinical Research Firms Rise

Stock market sentiment improved on Monday as US equities rallied sharply, following President Trump's decision to halt military action against Iran. Investors are hopeful that geopolitical tensions may ease, contributing to a better market atmosphere. All three major US indices closed higher. The US dollar remained steady, while the yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to around 4.68%. Gold fluctuated before rising, while oil prices saw a significant decline.

Hong Kong's three major stock indices opened higher on Tuesday. The Hang Seng Index opened 0.31% higher at 26,090.98 points, the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 0.3%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 0.18%.

On the sector front, internet and technology stocks were mostly positive. Alibaba and Baidu both rose over 1%, while NetEase fell nearly 1%. The PCB (printed circuit board) concept opened higher, with KB LAMINATES advancing over 1%. Clinical research and innovation drug concept stocks were particularly strong, with WUXI APPTEC surging more than 9%. AI application stocks were also active, with KINGSOFT CLOUD rising over 5%.
