The "2026 Financial Street Smart Spring Carnival," jointly organized by Financial Street Group and Sina Finance, officially concluded on April 26 after a three-day run. The event blended technology with lively festivities, filling the final days of spring with laughter, enticing aromas, and music.
As a key consumer promotion project in Xicheng District for 2026, the carnival centered on the theme of "smart technology meets spring life." It featured over 100 stalls operating for 11 hours daily. According to statistics, the event attracted a total of 91,000 visitors over three days, generating on-site sales of 1.61 million yuan and boosting surrounding business district sales by over 28 million yuan.
Food stalls drew the largest crowds, with popular online favorites like New York Bagel Museum and Blue·G Bakery sharing the spotlight with time-honored brands such as Donglaishun and Denan Bakery. Long queues formed in front of stalls like Denan Bakery, BK Beef & Mushroom King, Donglaishun, Muji Apple Pie, and Yueji Lane's Peking Duck Rolls. Denan Bakery, a regular participant, continued to impress with its sugar-free and oil-free pretzel series, cinnamon specialties, and traditional French baguettes made with imported ingredients from Germany, Switzerland, and France, becoming a must-buy souvenir for many visitors. BK Beef & Mushroom King won over crowds with its mushroom-centric dishes, turning simple natural ingredients into unforgettable flavors. The century-old brand Donglaishun served lamb skewers, specialty cheese, sour cheese, and traditional snacks like ludagun, offering a taste of authentic Beijing cuisine.
Technology was another highlight of the carnival. Humanoid robots, including the marathon champion "Lightning" and the lively "Yuanqi Zai," drew attention alongside Yushu Technology's春晚-famous robot that extended a hand for handshakes. Lobospace's robotic arm mixed specialty drinks, Xianglu's cooking robot stir-fried crayfish, and Hengyuan Zhiqi's humanoid robots performed energetic dances. These robotic displays captivated audiences, offering a close-up experience of the AI era.
Beyond the exhibits, activities like robot parades distributing flowers, robotic dance performances, sports events, and live music kept the atmosphere vibrant. On the evening of April 25, an unexpected yet touching moment occurred during a music session when an on-duty security guard, moved by the ambiance, volunteered to take the stage. Singing classics like "Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies," his soulful voice moved many in the audience, with some visibly touched by the performance. The carnival's stage proved to be a platform for ordinary individuals, showcasing that while technology bridges the future, sincerity connects hearts.
Interactive activities added to the fun. The capsule toy and card-collecting redemption area saw long lines, with children exclaiming how enjoyable it was. Games like "Chopstick Challenge" tested speed and luck—participants first played rock-paper-scissors with a robot to qualify, then used long chopsticks to grab snacks within 30 seconds. One visitor skillfully picked up multiple snack bags at once, eliciting cheers from onlookers. At booths hosted by Honor, China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and Bloomage Biotech, visitors collected cards to redeem freebies like skincare sets, phone films, and food samples. As a strategic partner, China Construction Bank contributed diverse financial services to support urban vitality, while Bloomage Biotech enhanced the experience with advanced biotechnology and beauty benefits. Partners like DiDi, Honor, ICBC, and Bank of China added travel services, smart devices, and digital finance to the spring consumption scene.
On social media, visitors shared tips and hauls, with one noting, "There were so many freebies that my bag couldn't hold them all—bring a bigger bag next time!" Others praised the pet-friendly, shaded venue ideal for families and pets, highlighting the relaxed vibe of enjoying music on the grassy field.
More than a short-term festival, the carnival marked the beginning of Financial Street's annual commercial ecosystem collaboration. Linked with the "Xicheng Consumption" platform and local malls, it offered discounts and promotions at over 100 merchants. Shopping vouchers from the event could also be redeemed at Financial Street Mall, enabling cross-venue customer flow.
