Guangxi Hezhou Achieves Dual Breakthroughs in Foreign Trade: Gold Processing Trade "Breaks Ice" While Agricultural Exports "Heat Up"

Deep News12:41

Hezhou, Guangxi, has recently witnessed significant progress in foreign trade, marked by breakthroughs in gold processing trade and robust growth in agricultural exports.

"Orders are now scheduled until January next year, with taro, lemon juice, and broccoli being highly sought-after in overseas markets. Our monthly export volume consistently exceeds 100 tons," said Li Muk, head of Guangxi Hezhou Huacai Modern Agriculture Co., Ltd. Since October this year, demand for Hezhou's agricultural products overseas has surged, injecting new momentum into the city's annual foreign trade growth.

As one of the leading exporters of agricultural products in Hezhou, Huacai Modern Agriculture focuses on integrated vegetable production, processing, preservation, and cold-chain logistics. The company has invested in a new vegetable processing line with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons and established standardized planting bases for taro and water chestnuts. It has also helped local farmers develop nearly 10,000 acres of vegetable fields, forming a complete supply chain from farms to international markets.

From October to November, the company's orders increased by 50% compared to the average monthly volume in the first three quarters, with products selling well both domestically and abroad.

Another highlight of Hezhou's foreign trade is gold processing. In September, Guangxi Fulong Jewelry Co., Ltd. obtained Guangxi's first gold jewelry processing trade manual. By October, the company successfully imported a batch of gold raw materials through processing trade, marking a milestone in Guangxi's gold processing trade sector.

Chen Pengxiang, general manager of Fulong Jewelry, stated that after relocating from Guangdong to Hezhou, the company has specialized in high-end gold jewelry processing, primarily exporting to Middle Eastern markets such as the UAE. To meet strong overseas demand, the company is accelerating industrial upgrades, transitioning from manual production to mechanized processing. Chen estimates that the company's foreign trade revenue in Q4 could reach 500 million yuan.

Luo Yiqin, deputy director of Hezhou's Commerce Bureau, noted that the bureau has conducted comprehensive surveys of gold jewelry processing firms with foreign trade qualifications, establishing a "one-on-one" assistance mechanism to address development bottlenecks. Policies such as export tax rebates and foreign trade stabilization funds have been fully implemented, with streamlined procedures to enhance efficiency. Additionally, customs clearance has been expedited through measures like "advance declaration" and "two-step declaration," reducing logistics costs for businesses.

Hezhou is also fostering new foreign trade models, encouraging cross-border e-commerce and leveraging Guangxi's pilot zones for integrated e-commerce to expand export channels. Currently, the city's foreign trade landscape features a diversified structure, with traditional industries providing stability, emerging sectors adding momentum, and new business models boosting vitality.
