On Friday, U.S. airline stocks displayed notable strength, with Southwest Airlines (LUV.US) climbing more than 3.4% at the time of writing. Other carriers also advanced, as American Airlines (AAL.US) and Alaska Air Group (ALK.US) both rose over 2%. Further gains were seen from JetBlue Airways (JBLU.US), United Airlines (UAL.US), and Delta Air Lines (DAL.US), each up more than 1%. The positive movement was driven by news that JPMorgan upgraded Southwest Airlines from "Underweight" to "Overweight," simultaneously raising its price target from $36 to $60.
