Rocket Lab USA, Inc. (RKLB.US) announced on Sunday the successful completion of its 21st launch mission for the year, deploying a new satellite into orbit for its long-term client, Japan's Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space (iQPS). The positive news drove Rocket Lab's stock up approximately 4% in pre-market trading on Monday.
The newly launched satellite will join iQPS's synthetic aperture radar constellation, providing near real-time imaging services to global customers across twelve different orbital planes. Since its first mission for iQPS in 2023, Rocket Lab has deployed seven satellites for the constellation, solidifying its "Electron" rocket as iQPS's primary launch vehicle.
Under the current agreement, Rocket Lab will conduct at least five additional "Electron" launches for iQPS starting in 2026. The next launch window is scheduled for early Q1 2026.
