Bank of China's Chief Risk Officer Zhao Rong Appointed as Party Committee Member of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation

Zhao Rong, Chief Risk Officer of Bank of China Limited, has been appointed as a Party Committee Member of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure), according to updated leadership information on Sinosure's official website.

Zhao Rong, born in 1971, holds a bachelor's degree in World Economics from Fudan University (1989 intake) and a master's degree in Finance from Fudan University's World Economy Institute (1993 intake). She completed her PhD at the Graduate School of the People's Bank of China in 1998.

Her career at Bank of China began at the headquarters, where she served as Deputy Director of the Office, Marketing Director of Personal Banking Department, Deputy General Manager of Personal Banking Headquarters, and Director of the Office cum Spokesperson. In 2014, she became Executive Vice President of Bank of China's Shanghai Headquarters.

From December 2022 to September 2024, Zhao served as Business Management Director of Bank of China. She was President of Bank of China's Shanghai Branch from November 2015 to October 2020, and concurrently served as Executive Vice President of Shanghai RMB Trading Business Headquarters from July 2014 to May 2021. From October 2009 to March 2014, she held positions as Director of the Office and Spokesperson for Bank of China.

Since October 2024, Zhao has served as Chief Risk Officer of Bank of China, concurrently holding the position of General Manager of Risk Management Department since September 2024.

Established on December 18, 2001, Sinosure is a state-funded policy insurer supporting China's foreign trade and economic cooperation. By the end of June 2025, Sinosure had supported over $9.5 trillion in domestic and international trade and investment, providing credit insurance services to 380,000 enterprises with cumulative claims payments exceeding $25 billion.

Sinosure's current leadership includes Party Secretary and Chairman Wang Hao, Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Chairman and General Manager Sheng Hetai, Deputy Party Secretary Li Wensen, and other senior executives.
