Dingdong's May Day Consumption Insights: HPP Products in High Demand, Leisure Braised Delicacies Surge Over 40%

Deep News04-29

Dingdong (Cayman) Limited has released observations on fresh food consumption trends during the May Day holiday. Data indicates that this year's holiday period saw a stronger emphasis on dual consumption scenarios: outings and staying at home. Categories such as ready-to-eat healthy meat products and leisure braised snacks for activities like camping and spring outings, as well as single-serving meals for at-home dining, all showed significant growth.

With rising temperatures, the health-conscious consumption trend for HPP (High Pressure Processing) juices became more prominent. During the May Day holiday, sales of refreshing, additive-free HPP beverages, such as freshly squeezed watermelon juice and Red Fuji apple juice, are expected to increase by over 20% compared to the previous period.

On April 18, the Juewei series of braised products launched on Dingdong's platform, marking the first time Juewei products have been available for sale on an instant retail platform.

Currently, all four major braised delicacy brands—Juewei, Zhouheiya, Huangshanghuang, and Ziyan—are available on Dingdong (Cayman) Limited. The company anticipates that overall sales of braised products during the May Day holiday will increase by more than 40% compared to the week preceding the holiday.
