On October 8, the National Day holiday had already passed, but in the Liuying area of Shijiazhuang, the recently opened Beiguo Xiyue City was still bustling with crowds. Citizens shopping, resting, and taking their children out were all enjoying themselves, creating a lively scene.
"Three years ago, this place was still the Qiaoxi Vegetable Wholesale Market. Now it has taken on a completely new look and transformed into a stylish commercial complex," said Zhao Suqi, who lives near the West Second Ring Road and was happily playing with her 5-year-old son Zhu Muyang. "In the past, taking the kids to a mall meant going all the way to the city center. Now we can shop to our heart's content right at our doorstep," Zhao Suqi said with a smile.
In recent years, as one of Shijiazhuang's six major development zones, the Liuying area has followed the construction principle of "commercial where suitable, residential where suitable, roads where suitable," striving to build a central commercial and trade zone in the West Second Ring Road area. Beiguo Xiyue City is a key commercial project in the urban renewal of the Liuying area, with a total gross floor area of 85,000 square meters. It brings together diverse business formats including retail, dining, family activities, and entertainment, filling the gap of a large-scale commercial complex in the West Second Ring Road area of the city.
Inside the mall, shops for clothing, dining, trendy collectibles, and more are all available. During the National Day holiday, Beiguo Xiyue City launched multiple fun interactive activities, with an average daily foot traffic of 36,000 visitors and total sales exceeding 18 million yuan.
As dusk fell, children played and laughed endlessly in the white sand pit outside Gate 5. Zhao Suqi said happily: "The old vegetable wholesale market was lively too, but most people were in a hurry and left right after buying vegetables. Now the bustling atmosphere remains, but there is an added sense of ease and leisure."
