An event to foster collaboration in the solid-state battery sector was recently hosted by Wuhai City in Shenzhen.

According to information released on July 13th, the event was organized by the Wuhai Regional Economic Cooperation Bureau to seize development opportunities in the solid-state battery industry and actively attract advanced technologies and industrial resources from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Wuhai City's Strategic Positioning

During the event, the Wuhai Regional Economic Cooperation Bureau provided a detailed overview of the city's overall industrial layout, key investment sectors, and the development framework for the solid-state battery industry. It emphasized the unique complementary advantages between Wuhai and the Greater Bay Area in this field. The Wuhai Energy Bureau offered a comprehensive interpretation of the new energy industry's overall plan and the policies for direct green power access, providing clear policy guidance to help solid-state battery enterprises reduce costs, increase efficiency, and build competitive market advantages.

Fostering Collaboration

A representative from the Guangdong Inner Mongolia Chamber of Commerce shared insights, stating the chamber would continue leveraging its platform advantages to facilitate connections and encourage more technology enterprises and solid-state battery industry chain projects from the Greater Bay Area to invest in Wuhai, thereby broadening channels for north-south collaborative development.

Engaging Industry Dialogue

The interactive exchange session was lively, with representatives from over 20 high-quality enterprises from the Greater Bay Area taking turns to speak. They introduced their core technologies, R&D achievements, and industrial layout plans, and proposed potential collaborations while inquiring about industrial support and policy measures based on their specific development needs. The face-to-face communication between government and businesses enabled precise matching of supply and demand resources. Attendees praised the event, noting that the Greater Bay Area possesses cutting-edge technology, high-end talent, and innovative platforms, while Wuhai offers abundant green power, a complete industrial chain, and vast development space, indicating significant potential for cooperation in the solid-state battery sector.

Site Visits and Project Engagement

Furthermore, the Wuhai Regional Economic Cooperation Bureau organized visits for relevant municipal and district departments to companies including Shenzhen DFD Nano Technology Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Nansha Jingyuan Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhongke Chaoneng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.. Discussions focused on in-depth对接 for projects related to lithium iron phosphate cathode materials, silicon carbide single crystal materials, and key equipment and core materials for solid-state batteries, actively promoting the development of future cooperation intentions.

Wuhai's Growing Industry Foundation

In recent years, leveraging its advantages in resources, energy, and industry, Wuhai has accelerated the formation of a solid-state battery industrial system described as "from a piece of coal to an energy storage power station." Currently, the city's annual production capacity for graphite anode materials has reached 60,000 tons. The Guoxuan 5GWh battery assembly and PACK factory project has been completed, and the nation's largest and Inner Mongolia's first semi-solid-state lithium battery energy storage project has been constructed and connected to the grid. Wuhai has also planned and is developing a solid-state battery industrial park covering over 1,700 acres and has established the region's first autonomous region-level new energy and new materials academician workstation.
