As of 23:00 on November 25, the number of inbound and outbound passengers at Shenzhen Airport口岸 has surpassed 6 million this year, marking a year-on-year increase of over 23.4%. This is the first time in five years that the annual throughput has reached and exceeded the 6 million milestone, setting a new record for the same period.
Data shows that mainland residents departing via Shenzhen Airport口岸 have increased by more than 18.4% year-on-year, with over 50% traveling to Southeast Asian countries. Currently, Shenzhen Airport's flight network covers 26 destinations across nine Southeast Asian countries, with over 200 weekly outbound flights to the region. Southeast Asian flights account for approximately 60% of daily international passenger flights, ranking first in coverage among major Chinese airports.
Huang Yuzhong, Deputy Director of the Border Inspection Department at Shenzhen Airport Border Inspection Station, noted that during the National Day and Mid-Autumn holidays, flights to and from Sydney, Vancouver, Rome, and Los Angeles maintained an average cabin occupancy rate exceeding 85%.
Since the beginning of this year, Shenzhen Airport has launched more than 10 new international passenger routes, with plans to add flights to Melbourne, Australia, and Kuching, Malaysia, bringing the total number of international and regional destinations to over 60.
With China expanding its visa-free "circle of friends" and introducing policies such as tax refunds for overseas travelers and electronic payments, the enthusiasm of foreign visitors for tourism, business, visits, and family reunions continues to rise. Huang Yuzhong reported that the number of foreign nationals inspected by Shenzhen Airport Border Inspection Station has increased by nearly 44.1% year-on-year. Among them, visa-free entries account for nearly 60% of total foreign arrivals, up more than 133.3% year-on-year, with travelers from Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore leading the numbers.
As the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area accelerates the flow of people, goods, capital, and technology, Shenzhen Airport Border Inspection Station has implemented 13 targeted service measures to convert口岸 traffic into economic growth, supporting the development of the Greater Bay Area.
In March, Shenzhen Border Inspection General Station signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Bao'an District People's Government of Shenzhen, extending services from cargo-only to a comprehensive "cargo + personnel" chain.
