He Xiaopeng, Chairman of XPeng Group, stated that the year 2027 is highly likely to mark the beginning of the commercial mass production of high-level humanoid robots.
He believes that robots serve as the core platform for "physical AI," inherently possessing high software value. Once a breakthrough in capabilities is achieved, the pace of scaling could far surpass that of the automotive industry. XPeng has chosen the challenging path of developing general-purpose humanoid robots that most closely resemble humans. To this end, the company has restructured its team, focusing on utilizing AI rather than traditional software engineering to drive the robot's "brain" and motion control systems.
He Xiaopeng forecasts that starting from 2027, physical AI will begin to provide significant assistance and even a certain degree of replacement for numerous job roles, much like digital AI has done.
