Alibaba has officially announced the formation of the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) business group. This new organizational structure is centered on the core objectives of "creating, delivering, and applying tokens" and will be directly overseen by Alibaba CEO Wu Yongming.
This strategic move represents a significant organizational realignment for Alibaba as it positions itself for the AI Agent era. The initiative is designed to use the Token Hub as a central framework to strengthen strategic coordination across its AI businesses and fully advance the implementation of Alibaba's AI strategy.
The Alibaba Token Hub encompasses several divisions, including the Tongyi Laboratory, the MaaS business line, the Qianwen business unit, the newly introduced Wukong business unit, and the AI Innovation business unit. This structure provides a comprehensive layout covering everything from fundamental model research and development to model-as-a-service platforms and AI applications for both individual consumers and enterprises.
The Wukong business unit is making its first public appearance, with a stated focus on developing an "AI-native work platform for business clients, deeply integrating model capabilities into enterprise workflows." This indicates that alongside its consumer AI application, the Qianwen APP, Alibaba will also be prioritizing the enterprise AI application market.
