Security Firm F5 Partners with NVIDIA to Deliver Integrated AI Safety Solution for Runtime Protection in Enterprise Applications

Deep News07-29

Application delivery and security technology company F5 has announced the integration of its F5 AI Guardrails with NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails. This combined solution provides centralized and consistent security and governance for AI applications deployed in enterprise production environments. By decoupling the security enforcement layer from the AI framework, the solution enables organizations to conduct real-time inspection, policy enforcement, and auditing of AI traffic without modifying application code.

A primary obstacle for enterprises moving AI from pilot programs to production is security. In heterogeneous, multi-cloud environments that utilize multiple models and frameworks, common issues include fragmented security controls, inconsistent policy enforcement, and governance blind spots. While many AI frameworks include basic safety checks, these controls are often embedded within individual applications, lacking a unified policy management interface. The integration of F5 AI Guardrails with NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails establishes a layered architecture where framework libraries, microservices, orchestration, and security operate independently. Within this structure, enterprises can standardize policies using NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails, while F5 AI Guardrails centrally manages the safety review of prompts and Large Language Model (LLM) responses, enforcing enterprise-level security requirements uniformly.

In terms of core capabilities, the solution offers the following functionalities: Real-time Prompt and Response Review: Detects and blocks malicious outputs or data leaks before they reach users. Centralized Policy Enforcement: Security teams can manage AI security policies across multiple applications from a single point. Unified Cross-Application Visibility: Provides a single dashboard to monitor AI behavior across various models and business units. Independent Layered Architecture: Each security layer can be updated and scaled independently.

Kunal Anand, Chief Product Officer at F5, stated: "Enterprises do not lack AI applications; what they lack is consistent security and governance across those applications. This integrated solution provides security teams with a unified interface for inspection, policy enforcement, and governance, while granting developers the freedom to continue building." Ash Bhalgat, Senior Director of AI Networking and Security Solutions Ecosystem and Marketing at NVIDIA, also noted: "The integration with F5 AI Guardrails expands the scope of protection available to customers, helping to secure LLM prompts and responses when deploying AI agents into production."

The integrated solution for F5 AI Guardrails and NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails is now commercially available. It is independent of any specific Large Language Model, allowing enterprises to maintain consistent security policies even when switching models or adding new applications.
