China Mobile (00941) has released its 20th annual Sustainability Report, detailing 2025 performance and progress across economic, environmental, social and governance (ESG) dimensions.
Key financials • Operating revenue reached RMB 1.05 trn, up 0.9% year on year, with net profit at RMB 137.10 bn and operating profit at RMB 148.90 bn. • EBITDA margin stood at 32.30%.
Digital infrastructure and services • 5G leadership: 2.77 m 5G base stations in service and 642 m 5G network customers. • Computing power: intelligent computing capacity rose to 92.5 EFLOPS (FP16); two national and 12 regional intelligent-computing centres completed. • AI ecosystem: “Lingxi” smart agent user base surpassed 100 m; Jiutian series released, including a trillion-parameter MoE model; embodied-intelligence robots piloted in 10 provinces. • Industrial applications: over 57,000 5G industry commercial cases now cover 91 of 97 major economic categories; 3,000+ smart-agriculture projects launched.
Green development • “C² Three-Energy Plan” drove cumulative electricity savings of 46.30 bn kWh during the 14th Five-Year Plan, equal to 1.6 bn tonnes of avoided CO₂ for society. • 2025 energy-use intensity fell 5.6% and carbon-emission intensity dropped 6.6% year on year; large and ultra-large data-centre PUE improved to 1.285. • Green power purchases exceeded 5.52 bn kWh, cutting 2.93 m tonnes of CO₂; more than 8,000 zero-carbon and 30,000 low-carbon base stations deployed.
Social impact • Overall customer satisfaction rose to 83.45 points; first-call hotline resolution hit 97.96%. • Annual spam-message interceptions totalled 213.20 bn; 65.68 bn scam-caller alerts issued. • Rural revitalisation initiatives cover 150,000 villages; digital-village standards met by 458,000 villages. • “One Red & One Blue” flagship charity programmes have channelled RMB 3.30 bn to education and medical aid to date.
Governance highlights • Board comprises eight directors, with four independent non-executive directors and 12.5% female representation. • All subsidiaries now have standardised boards; 100% of managerial staff operate under term-based contracts. • No major data-security breaches, environmental violations, or corruption cases were reported in 2025.
Outlook China Mobile plans to intensify communications, computing and AI services, continue driving energy-efficiency gains and maintain its target of reducing carbon-emission intensity by at least 0.5% in 2026, reinforcing its ambition to become a world-class sci-tech service enterprise.
