On December 22, Youku, under the umbrella of Orca Entertainment Group, announced a collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Asia-Pacific to launch the "Script to Series International Script Camp." The initiative aims to recruit emerging filmmakers worldwide to develop more Chinese-language original content with global appeal.
The "International Script Camp" is part of Warner Bros. Discovery's Access talent development program, which focuses on discovering promising creators and enhancing their creative and production capabilities. This marks the first time the Access program has been implemented in the Asia-Pacific region, following successful iterations in North America, Latin America, Central & Eastern Europe, Africa, and the UK.
A Youku representative stated that the initiative is a key step in identifying and nurturing international film and television talent, particularly young creators with cross-cultural storytelling abilities. The program will complement Orca Entertainment’s existing initiatives, such as the "Haina International Young Directors Development Program" and the "Spring Bud Screenwriter Program," forming a tiered incubation system that bridges local creativity and international collaboration while continuously injecting fresh talent into the industry.
