China Mobile Limited (China Mobile) expanded its Hong Kong-listed share base in March 2026, issuing 3.51 million new ordinary shares via employee stock option exercises. As a result, total issued shares (excluding treasury shares) rose to 20.75 billion as of 31 March 2026, up from 20.75 billion a month earlier.
The new shares stemmed entirely from two share option schemes approved at the 20 May 2020 annual general meeting: • Scheme A (exercise price: HKD 55.00) generated 600,514 new shares, reducing outstanding options under this plan to 76.62 million. • Scheme B (exercise price: HKD 51.60) added 2.91 million new shares, with 438.94 million options remaining outstanding.
Combined, these exercises delivered HKD 183.34 million in cash proceeds to the company.
China Mobile’s Shanghai-listed RMB shares (ticker 600941) remained unchanged at 902.77 million.
The company confirmed compliance with the Hong Kong Exchange’s public-float requirement, maintaining at least 5% of its Hong Kong-listed shares in public hands.
