On July 27, KE Holdings Inc. co-founders Peng Yongdong and Shan Yigang disclosed the latest distribution of the "Health Family Beike Protection Fund," a 400 million yuan fund established through their personal donations. Since applications opened on April 23, a total of 4.76 million yuan has been disbursed, benefiting 115 service professionals and their families nationwide.
Among these recipients, eight agents received not only protection fund payments but also simultaneously qualified for the company's "Green Plan" dual coverage, with cumulative payments reaching 723,469 yuan. This marks the first public disclosure of the combined "Health Family Beike Protection Fund + Green Plan" support list since the protection fund's launch.
The "Health Family Beike Protection Fund" was jointly established by co-founders Peng Yongdong and Shan Yigang on February 24 of this year. It covers service providers automatically without requiring separate enrollment or fees—taking effect after six months of employment. In April 2025 and February 2026, the two co-founders announced donations of 19 million shares to support healthcare and education needs for housing industry service providers and their families, formally establishing the fund.
According to reports, the Health Family Beike Protection Fund benefits over 500,000 housing industry service professionals, including eligible brand owners, store owners, agents, cleaners, and maintenance workers. The "Green Plan," launched by KE Holdings in 2008, provides disease and accident protection for service providers and their family members, with a maximum cumulative assistance of 2 million yuan, and does not conflict with the Health Family Beike Protection Fund—allowing for overlapping applications.
Of the 115 protection fund beneficiaries, 76 are also "Green Plan" members. Beyond the eight agents who have already received dual protection, other service providers can subsequently apply for up to 2 million yuan in platform coverage under the Green Plan rules.
The disclosed list includes not only agents, store owners, customer managers, and regional managers, but also painters, installers, carpenters, masons, and other housing industry service positions. Master Han, a carpenter from Suzhou Shengdu Decoration, suddenly experienced dizziness and confusion while working on a construction site, requiring emergency hospitalization and a diagnosis of cerebral hemorrhage. After a five-hour surgery, Master Han survived, but still faced over 30,000 yuan in out-of-pocket expenses after insurance reimbursement.
Although Master Han's illness occurred at a site not affiliated with KE Holdings' Shengdu Decoration, and did not meet work-related injury or commercial insurance criteria, it still fell within the coverage scope of the Health Family Beike Protection Fund. With assistance from colleagues, he quickly completed his application and received 20,000 yuan in emergency life protection funds the very next day.
"I didn't expect to get it at all. It wasn't even on a KE Holdings site at the time. In the decoration industry, you work for different companies—wherever there's work, you go. Other companies could have just ignored it. But then I actually received the money. I was both surprised and delighted, and I'm especially grateful to the company," said Master Han's son, Xiaohu. "Working for a company like this makes you feel really secure, without too many worries. This kind of protection simply doesn't exist outside of KE Holdings."
The "Health Family Beike Protection Fund" includes three sub-projects. The "Emergency Life Protection Fund" is designed for sudden serious illness diagnosis scenarios. Once diagnosed with complete documentation, applicants can receive 20,000 yuan within two working days. Unlike traditional insurance's post-expense reimbursement model, this fund is positioned as "life-saving emergency support," delivering timely protection to families in crisis.
The other two components provide safety nets for special circumstances: service providers who become completely incapacitated or pass away can receive a one-time "Family Warmth Assistance Fund" of 100,000 yuan; beneficiaries with children can also receive educational support ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 yuan through the "Children's Education Fund," based on the child's school age, helping families navigate difficult times.
