In the pricing logic of capital markets, the leap from "expectation-driven" to "earnings delivery" is often accompanied by fierce valuation battles and a shakeout of holdings. For Robotechnik (03757), the release of its third-quarter report became a belated validation. The company's single-quarter net profit attributable to shareholders reached RMB 54.9286 million, up 232.62% year on year, while net operating cash flow for the first three quarters reached RMB 418 million, up 646.20% year on year. The silicon photonics story that the market had repeatedly told about this company over the past two years left traces on both the income statement and the cash flow statement for the first time. Spurred by the positive earnings news, its H-shares surged as much as 9.17% in early trading.
Profit and Cash Flow in Resonance
Looking at the core financial data in this third-quarter report, Robotechnik's single-quarter revenue was RMB 393 million, up 134.13% year on year, and net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 54.9286 million, up 232.62% year on year. If one focuses only on the growth rates, it is easy to misjudge this as a simple low-base effect brought by the consolidation of an overseas acquisition. But by looking through the surface of the data and examining profit quality, cash flow conditions and the dramatic changes in the balance sheet, we can clearly outline how this company, within the AI silicon photonics and CPO equipment industry chain, is moving comprehensively from "expectation-driven" toward a substantive leap driven by "capacity and delivery." First, the most valuable aspect of this earnings report lies in the resonance between profit quality and operating cash flow. In the first three quarters, the company's net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 61.4854 million, while non-recurring net profit reached RMB 58.1725 million. The two figures are highly aligned, meaning the earnings explosion was entirely driven by large-scale delivery of its main optoelectronics and semiconductor equipment business, with no dilution from non-recurring gains or losses. The even more striking indicator is cash flow: net cash flow from operating activities in the first three quarters reached RMB 418 million, surging 646.20% year on year. In the high-end precision equipment manufacturing industry, a large net inflow of operating cash flow is the strongest endorsement of bargaining power in the industry chain and the authenticity of orders. It proves that ficonTEC's equipment not only recognized revenue on paper, but also in substance completed a high proportion of customer collections, meaning its profit model has been fully proven. Mapped to the industry level, Robotechnik's high growth and high gross margin—third-quarter gross margin reached 49.02%—precisely target the "shortest stave in the barrel" of AI optical interconnect manufacturing. As the CPO architecture pushes optical coupling precision toward the sub-micron level and testing shifts from the module level forward to the wafer level, high-precision coupling and testing equipment have become the physical gate determining the industry's capacity ramp speed. Relying on ficonTEC's approximately 25.5% global market share in silicon photonics intelligent manufacturing equipment and its end-to-end technical barriers, the company has demonstrated strong irreplaceability on core customers' top-tier production lines. As of the third-quarter report, an order backlog of RMB 2.359 billion in unrecognized revenue from the optoelectronics and semiconductor business provides solid support for earnings release over the next two to three quarters.
Over RMB 1.7 Billion in Major Orders Secured During the Year, with Silicon Photonics/CPO Orders Dominating
According to observations, the pull of AI computing clusters on optical interconnect no longer remains at the narrative level of "strong demand for optical modules." Citing TrendForce data, the global CPO market is expected to reach USD 2 billion in 2026, up more than 400% year on year; the CPO/NPO market is projected to jump from about USD 100 million in 2025 to more than USD 39 billion in 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 218.7% from 2025 to 2030. The share of silicon photonics solutions in 400G/800G optical modules is already close to 50%, and in the 1.6T era the silicon photonics share is expected to exceed half. However, the market has already tracked "optical module shipments" quite thoroughly, and the real expectation gap lies further upstream. In optical module manufacturing, optical coupling is the most complex process and the largest value segment, accounting for about 40% of total equipment value; testing equipment accounts for 27% in total, including 15% for R&D testing and 12% for reliability testing. The CPO architecture further extends testing from traditional module testing to multiple stages including PIC wafers, EIC-PIC wafers, Optical Engine and advanced packaging modules, and PIC wafer-level testing is becoming a bottleneck process in mass production. In other words, when CPO shifts from being "an alternative to pluggable optical modules" to "a native integrated solution for switches and AI accelerators," the process window on the equipment side is narrowing, precision requirements are rising exponentially, and the delivery pace and validation cycle of the equipment itself naturally lag behind module makers' expansion decisions. Under this industry trend, coupling and testing equipment have become one of the few value nodes that cannot be "internalized" by the chip or module segments, directly determining the yield ceiling and capacity ramp speed of the entire industry. To precisely position itself at this core node, Robotechnik completed the full acquisition of Germany's ficonTEC in 2025 and achieved a fundamental shift in business focus—in the first half of 2026, the company's optoelectronics business already accounted for 81.16% of revenue. ficonTEC not only ranks first globally in silicon photonics intelligent manufacturing equipment with about a 25.5% market share, but more importantly, it is the world's only supplier capable of providing an end-to-end solution covering the entire silicon photonics device process. According to the investor relations activity records previously disclosed by the company, ficonTEC has built a full-process solution comprising two major product series—fully automated testing and fully automated assembly—comprehensively covering testing equipment from wafers, dies and chips to back-end modules, as well as assembly processes such as optoelectronic device coupling, high-precision fiber coupling, optical chip placement and chip stacking. This absolute technological scarcity is accelerating into tangible earnings delivery. Since the beginning of this year, the company's wholly owned subsidiary ficonTEC and its subsidiaries have seen a concentrated surge in orders in the optoelectronic packaging and testing equipment field. Based on publicly disclosed information, from the beginning of 2026 to August, the cumulative amount of major contracts disclosed by Robotechnik reached RMB 1.785 billion, already close to twice the company's full-year 2025 revenue of RMB 950 million. But it must be clearly recognized that this "uniqueness" does not equal a permanent moat. The impulse of leading overseas optical module manufacturers to develop equipment in-house and downstream customers' bargaining pressure on a single supplier remain constraints hanging overhead. At present, Robotechnik faces a typical combination of "high Beta plus highly concentrated Alpha": the optical interconnect equipment track enjoys the industry Beta of CPO penetration rising from less than 1% to more than 50%, but the company's Alpha is highly tied to the capex pace and technology route choices of a small number of leading overseas customers. Customer concentration risk, uncertainty over iteration between CPO and NPO/pluggable routes, and the expense and foreign exchange exposure brought by operating overseas subsidiaries are all variables that order figures alone cannot fully cover. This high expectation for fundamentals and structural risk have been directly reflected in the pricing battle between the two markets. After the third-quarter report was disclosed, its H-shares surged as much as 9.17% in early trading, indicating that funds are betting on a rebound.
