In the coastal town of Binhai, Zhanhua District, Binzhou City, a landscape once dominated by saline-alkaline flats covered in white frost and sparse salt-tolerant vegetation has been transformed. Today, it is dotted with wind turbines and vast seas of solar panels, evolving from a former "barren land" into a crucial clean energy base for Shandong Province.
The Huaneng Binzhou 850,000-kilowatt photovoltaic project has driven over 250,000 pile foundations into 15,800 mu of tidal flats. The installation comprises more than 1.69 million photovoltaic modules, with the total length of cable laid exceeding 8,000 kilometers.
