Zai Lab Shares Surge Over 7% Intraday as Zoci Plus Atezolizumab First-Line ES-SCLC Data Debuts at ESMO

Deep News10-26

Zai Lab Ltd (SEHK: 09688) shares climbed more than 7% intraday, and as of press time the stock was up 5.91% at HK$18.83, with turnover of HK$32.42179 million.

On October 23, Zai Lab Ltd (SEHK: 09688) announced the first data from a global Phase 1b clinical study evaluating zocilurtatug pelitecan (zoci, formerly known as ZL-1310) in combination with atezolizumab (with or without carboplatin) for first-line treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). The data will be presented at the 2026 Congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) in Madrid, Spain.

Dr. Rafael G. Amado, President and Head of Global Research and Development at Zai Lab Ltd (SEHK: 09688), said: "Despite continued advances in treatment, extensive-stage small cell lung cancer remains a highly devastating disease, with many patients experiencing disease progression approximately five months after starting standard first-line therapy. The confirmed high response rate, encouraging durability, and well-tolerated safety profile we observed with this chemotherapy-free regimen are particularly notable. We believe that zoci, with both efficacy and safety, has the potential to become the preferred ADC backbone for small cell lung cancer, including in combination with immunotherapy."
