Former President Donald Trump has stated that the United States will achieve a "total victory" over Iran within the next two weeks, an outcome he claims will lead to a substantial decline in oil prices.
During a telephone campaign event for South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham on June 8, Trump asserted that negotiations with Iran are ongoing and that Iran is willing to accept key U.S. conditions, including forgoing nuclear weapons.
He elaborated, stating his belief that the U.S. is prevailing in the standoff and that the definitive victory is imminent. Trump predicted that upon announcing this comprehensive win, oil prices would fall sharply.
This is not the first instance where Trump has referenced a two-week timeframe for a major breakthrough. A previous U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement announced on April 7 was also initially set for a two-week duration to allow for final negotiations to conclude the conflict.
