Samsung Nears NVIDIA Certification for HBM4

Deep News01-30

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is reportedly close to obtaining NVIDIA's certification for its latest-generation high-bandwidth memory chip, HBM4, a development that could help it narrow the gap with competitor SK Hynix in the high-end AI memory market.

NVIDIA extensively uses high-bandwidth memory (HBM) in its AI accelerator products, making the certification progress of this critical component a key focus for the market. Sources indicate that Samsung has entered the final stage of collaboration with NVIDIA for this certification, after having provided the first HBM4 samples to NVIDIA as early as September of last year.
