Chinese agriculture firm Yasheng Group has issued a risk alert to shareholders after its stock price surged by an impressive 46.67% in just four trading sessions, marking a significant rally that has caught the market's attention.
The company revealed in a filing on Sunday evening that its shares saw a cumulative closing price jump between September 3 and September 8, which it attributed to potential irrational market speculation. Yasheng cautioned that there is a substantial risk of a sharp pullback following such a rapid appreciation.
During this period, the company's stock clinched four consecutive daily limit-up moves, with the share price closing at the 5.28 yuan daily ceiling on September 8. The rally has pushed the company's total market capitalization to approximately 10.28 billion yuan.
In its official statement, Yasheng Group clarified that while some of its planting bases experienced varying degrees of crop damage due to heavy rainfall and drought conditions this year, the company's fundamentals remain largely unchanged. It also noted that there have been no significant shifts in market conditions or industry policies that would justify such a steep price movement.
