According to industry sources, Samsung Electronics' fourth-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM4) has secured the highest score in tests conducted for NVIDIA's next-generation AI accelerator, "Vera Rubin."
Last week, NVIDIA's team visited Samsung to discuss the progress of HBM4 system-in-package (SiP) testing. The meeting revealed that Samsung's product outperformed competitors in two critical metrics: operational speed and power efficiency.
NVIDIA's proposed procurement volume of Samsung's HBM4 for next year significantly exceeded Samsung's internal expectations.
The two companies are expected to finalize a supply agreement in the first quarter of next year, with Samsung likely commencing chip deliveries to NVIDIA in the second quarter.
