As of October 23, the latest update on China's 21st round of refined oil price adjustments for 2026, which is set for 24:00 on October 29, shows that gasoline and diesel prices are expected to rise by 290 yuan per ton and 280 yuan per ton, respectively.
After conversion, 92-grade gasoline is projected to increase by 0.23 yuan per liter, 95-grade gasoline by 0.25 yuan per liter, and 0-grade diesel by 0.24 yuan per liter, nearly double the increase expected at the start of the pricing cycle.
At present, the average domestic fuel prices are 8.59 yuan per liter for 92-grade gasoline, 9.17 yuan per liter for 95-grade gasoline, and 8.27 yuan per liter for 0-grade diesel, just 0.3 yuan per liter below this year's highs.
At this stage, the probability of an oil price increase in this round is already very high, with the projected gain approaching 0.25 yuan per liter, and there is still room for further increases.
If the current forecast materializes, domestic 92-grade and 95-grade gasoline prices may hit new highs after the October 29 adjustment.
Drivers who need to refuel may want to plan ahead.
