In the workshop of the CRRC Shannan Clean Energy Equipment Industrial Park, located in Zhanang County, Shannan City, Tibet, at an altitude of over 3,600 meters beside a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, machinery hums softly. Cewang Qunzong, a young Tibetan woman, moves her fingers deftly among a dense network of wires with practiced skill.
"This wire is for the control circuit. Even a one-millimeter deviation is unacceptable," she says softly, her gaze focused. Beside her, Pincuo Yuzhen is simultaneously checking blueprints. This pair of young Tibetan sisters has now become technical mainstays in the workshop.
"The company sent us to Zhuzhou, Hunan, for a full year of training. We learned everything from reading diagrams to system debugging. Returning to Tibet with real skills makes us feel particularly secure," says Pincuo Yuzhen, straightening up with a shy yet confident smile, fine beads of sweat on her forehead.
In this world's highest-altitude clean energy equipment production base, local young people like them are increasingly taking on key roles. This model of "training in Hunan, returning to build the homeland" not only equips local youth with viable skills but also represents a shift from external "blood transfusion" to internal "blood-making" capacity.
Supporting this transformation are the robust, "plateau-customized" pieces of equipment on the production floor. "Photovoltaic, wind power, energy storage, and hydropower stations all rely on this 'central nervous system'," says Chen Ge, Marketing Department Head at CRRC, standing next to a box-type substation undergoing调试. He taps the complex internal electrical structure.
As Tibet's first clean energy equipment industrial park, this project was invested in and constructed by CRRC Zhuzhou Institute. It employs a "1+N" model to build an industrial chain cluster. The recently commissioned first phase covers 45 acres, and the first "Made-in-Tibet" intelligent box-type substation and high-voltage switchgear have successfully rolled off the production line, with craftsmanship fully meeting the high standards of mainland production lines. According to Chen Ge, some products have already been installed and trialed at project sites at an altitude of 5,200 meters.
With a long-term view, the future implementation of second and third-phase projects for energy storage and new energy equipment is expected to push the park's annual output value beyond 3 billion yuan. This will solidify the foundation for the chain-style development of Tibet's new energy high-end equipment industry and fill the gap in Shannan's clean energy equipment manufacturing sector.
As a landmark project exemplifying Zhuzhou's innovative model for aiding Tibet, the Zhuzhou team within the 10th batch of Hunan Province's Tibet aid work team has established a comprehensive chain for employment support. "Our goal is not merely to produce products, but more importantly, to use this platform to cultivate a group of local industrial talents who understand technology and management," Chen Ge states.
Today, from project planning to production operation and maintenance, the industrial park prioritizes employing the local workforce for就近 employment. An increasing number of Tibetan youth are entering modern workshops, becoming a new force supporting the green development of the snow-covered plateau.
At dusk, Cewang Qunzong closes the wiring terminal box and looks out the window. The wind from the Yarlung Valley sweeps past the崭新的 factory buildings, where rows of "plateau-customized" clean energy equipment stand ready for dispatch. From the banks of the Xiang River to the snow-covered plateau, the seeds of industrial aid for Tibet have already taken root and begun to sprout in Zhanang.
