Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. reported on Thursday a net profit of 71.62 trillion won (approximately $49.6 billion) for the second quarter, marking a 1,299.9% increase year-on-year.
As one of the world's largest suppliers of premium high-bandwidth memory (HBM) semiconductors, the company stated in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the April-to-June period surged 1,813.8% year-on-year to 89.49 trillion won, while revenue climbed 130% to 171.49 trillion won.
This performance exceeded analyst expectations, driven by sustained robust demand from the artificial intelligence sector, which continues to bolster the growth of its memory chip business.
