Rumors circulated online on May 14th suggesting that Yao Shunyu, the head of Tencent's AI division, might be leaving the company, allegedly due to the WeChat business unit taking over some computing resources.
In response, Tencent's official WeChat public account "E Chang Hei Ban Bao" published an article on the afternoon of May 14th to refute the claims. The article stated that the rumors spread by self-media about the imminent departure of the AI head and insinuations about Tencent are completely unfounded.
