Deep News07-10

Samsung Electronics is set to host a launch event in London on July 22 to officially introduce its new flagship foldable phone series, the Galaxy Z8. The product lineup has been expanded to three models, focusing on delivering a new Galaxy ecosystem experience designed for the era of autonomous artificial intelligence.

Industry expectations point to Samsung unveiling three foldable models simultaneously: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold8, and the Galaxy Z Flip8. Widespread industry reports indicate that Samsung will rename its top-tier large-screen foldable model as the Ultra version, while also introducing another Fold series device with an adjusted screen aspect ratio. The Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to retain Samsung's classic vertical flip-fold design.

Ahead of the launch, Roh Tae-moon, President of Samsung's Mobile eXperience Business, emphasized the critical importance of hardware and body design in the current phase of autonomous AI development.

The new Galaxy Z8 series is scheduled to go on sale officially on August 7. The pre-order period is highly likely to run from July 28 to August 3, with early activation for pre-orders starting from August 4.

Due to rising component costs, the prices for the new models are expected to increase by up to 200,000 won compared to the previous generation. According to leaked information, the pricing for the 256GB versions is approximately as follows: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra at around 2.57 million won, the Galaxy Z Fold8 at about 2.27 million won, and the Galaxy Z Flip8 at roughly 1.68 million won. Samsung is likely to continue its classic storage doubling promotion, allowing users who order during the pre-sale period to receive a free upgrade to the next higher storage tier.
